[Q] XPERIA ZL: Should we Upgrade to 4.2.2 immediately? - Sony Xperia ZL

As most of us know already, the 4.2.2 update for the xperia zl is already rolling out. But let's be honest: Most, if not all of the software releases for Sony Xperia Devices has a bug or two.
Question is: are you guys updating right away? And if you did, what are the noticeable improvements. I am very interested in battery life improvements if anyone can provide information already

I will wait a day or two and see opinions first. but oh boy, the transparent bars are tempting

Which transparent bars? Mine doesn't have them. Never mind. I see it in the lock screen now, but not on my home screen because I use Nova as my launcher and don't have them configured that way.
I updated right away. If something goes wrong, I have a CWM backup of my .253 image
So far so good. I like that we can now customize the Quick Settings buttons, but it sucks that they didn't put the stock 4.2.2 "tap and hold" functionality. If I want to access the Bluetooth or WiFi menus, I have to tap on settings, and then drill down to Bluetooth or WiFi, when they could have enabled it from the notification drawer.

The "Swipe up or down to unlock" message is annoying and gets in the way of my lock screen wallpaper. We also lost the Music icon on the lock screen, but we get widgets.

The only thing I can't figure out is how to delete / re-arrange lock screen widgets, because long - pat gives me nothing and now I am stuck with bunch lock screen widgets I can't change

At the default lock screen, swipe to the left... then swipe left or right to go to the lock screen that u would like to delete. At the lock screen page, press and hold till u see 'x remove' appears (somewhere in the middle near the top of the screen). Drag the miniaturized lock screen to 'x remove' to remove the lock screen page. U can also select which lock screen page to be the default screen.
A suggestion:
If u need more features/functionality from your lockscreen, go to Play Store and download the free DashClock widget for Android 4.2.2. U can also download and add DashClock extensions for more features.

Long press gives me nothing on my Xperia ZL. No X or any other option appears... Only widget gets smaller and dim but that's it.

It's working fine on my ZL.

so far not so bad, lock screen change like other 4.2 with option to add widget, the toogles can be added and arranged with few more option, the nav n status bar are transparent, but my disappointment is that there is no photosphere option in camera for this update

The multi task animations are fluid. The thing I'm most bothered about right now is the ram usage. I feel some stutters every now and then, unlike on 4.1.2
Here's a picture of my ram usage with the same apps installed but was only using about 1gb before
Edit: I can't seem to upload photos, but I am telling you: it uses about 1.3gb ram now!
Press thanks if I helped

I will update next. Reason is the possibility to get root if I want . I also like the transparent bars.

well i really like the transparent bar and the performance, also the wifi range really improve alot!! , but battery life is making me crazy. not so good battery performance a all..... and also the led bug its there. sometimes the color white led its change for a purple light. .... there still problems with the notification light... but well what can we do? just w8 for an update .

Day 2 with the new 4.2.2 and my battery is out of whack. It was at 46% after the flash, I played around with it and brought it down to 39%. After the reboot the battery jumped back up at 68%.
Went to bed at 4:30am - last I saw the battery it was around 45% .... woke up around 7:30am only to see the notification light on indicating the phone was down at 4%. I have to say - I'm starting to freak out a little.
I now charged it at 100% went to work and while listening to music on it with the PowerAmp app - my percentage is already at 68% after about 4 hours with 2-3 min talk time and some music playing.
This is horrible battery life right now. Ill give it chance to adjust itself, hopefully after a few cycles it will stabilize.
Anyone else experiencing similar problem with the battery?
Oops, I meant to post this in the 4.2.2 Issues thread....

Yes Definitely upgrade ASAP
Yes definitely one should upgrade Xperia ZL to latest android 4.2.2 10.3.A.0.423 Build
It's bundled with a number of new features http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2332956
And best part is that DoomLord has a root method for this .423 build for both Locked & Unlocked devices (check Doom's Rooting Kit v13)
My Device:
Xperia ZL (C6502) India
Android 4.2.2 Build:10.3.A.0.423
Boot Loader Locked (BL)
Press thanx if I helped you in any way

Mine is working great. I did have to factory reset and restore my apps through titanium backup. Battery life is great pretty much the same as before. I also updated through pc companion.

I'll be designing various UI concept improvements for Android and I'll keep them uploaded here.
If you have any ideas then please, let me know
8th January - Notification Concept Improvements Part 1
My first concept interface is done and ready for viewing - as well as feedback and comments.
This concept goes over some of my notification concepts which I feel would make Android a little more functional and fluid. Let me know what you think.
This user interface concept improvement video covers 3 simply tweaks, which I feel improve the functionality of Android.
1) Bigger Notifications
These bigger notifications show the contact picture, and are large enough so the message can be read. They appear over the top of the default notification bar to save space.
Clicking on the notification takes you to the application for which the notification is for. In this case, its the Messaging App
2) Quick Reply
Something I feel that has been missing from Android for some time. When the message arrive, clicking on the message itself will open quick reply.
Quick Reply extends the notification area so you can reply to the message right from the notification area, without leaving the application you are currently in.
3) Swipe to Close/Mark
Notifications have already easy to close in Android by either pressing the 'X' or in Android 4.0, by swiping the notification away.
However, there is no way to mark a message or email as read if you close it from the notification area. This concept means that you can do this. Simply wipe the notification to the left to close it, or swipe it to the right to mark it as read and close it.
There were 2 other videos that didn't make it into the final video - the only reason for this is that they are longer and the size of the video came to about 600mb for a HD one. Hence why they were left out of this video.
You can find more information about these at this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21179299&postcount=62

All feedback and comments are welcome. Feel free to message me on any of the sites above.
These are just concepts, unfortunately I dont have the coding skills required to make this a reality. However if I can get ideas and make concepts up, a dev from the forums, the cyanogen mode team or perhaps Google themselves if we're lucky will see this and help make them become a reality.
If you would like to incorporate these ideas into a ROM, application etc, then please contact me first

Honestly there isn't much I'd change right now. I haven't noticed much that I would change.
In terms of performance, they NEED to fix the autorotate function. Yes, it's nice now that it shows an animation, but it takes waaaay too long to rotate. This was the same gripe I had with Honeycomb tablets. I'm positive that it's intentional by Google, because other phone running ICS with skins rotate faster (I have a Sensation to compare).
This second one is gonna get a bit long.
Second, they need to change the response time of the recent apps button. After extended use and several apps running, there will be a slight delay between pressing the button and the list opening up. I'm actually fine with the fact that there's a delay, it's just where the delay is. The way it runs is you touch the button, there's a delay(lag, whatever you want to call it), then the phone vibrates, the button lights up, and the list comes up. What google needs to do is change the way it functions. Make sure the haptic feedback functions and the button lights up the instant your finger touches it. Then it can delay and the list can come up. In other words G needs to make the illumination and haptic feedback first priority. Then it could work on the multitasking process.
I think if it was done in this manner, the lag would be much less noticeable. It's the same as showing some sort of screen or animation when starting an app. If you touch an app and nothing happens (the screen doesn't change at all, not even a press animation) until the apps fully loaded and running it'll be seen as lag. If you touch an app and immediately see a loading screen or an animation (just examples) then you know the app started up already, and it's perceived as loading instead of lag.
Phew. That was a mouthful. It needed to be said. Come on now Google. All of both of these are just a little tweak in software. Entirely doable. Or maybe it's already done. I don't know for sure since I'm still running 4.0.1
Other than that ICS is great.
EDIT: oh and Google should change the notification to mirror that of tablets. I don't see why they removed the quick settings; it seems unlike them. Just the basics like in Honeycomb: wifi toggle, brightness, bluetooth and autorotate. I've seen mods include it, so I'm sure they could come up with an elegant solution
They need to add the ability to get rid of the Google Search bar on all homescreens or make it less intrusive on the homescreen.

All,
Just doing a bit of research.
Even though we all love Android, its still got its gripes. One of those for me is that the interface isn't as fluid or as function as it could be.
As many of you have seen ICS now, what type of enhancements to the interface would you like to see?
To give you an idea of what i'm after: I personally still dont like the notifications. I feel that they are a bit limited as to whats on offer, so I would like to see more function added to them

Fixing notifications is easy. Just drag and drop custom sounds into notifications, alarm and ringtones folder. Using same nokia notification for text ever since my first smartphone. I have the usual buzzer alarm since ics didnt include it. I would also like option of no search bar or at least pinning it to desired homescreen. It would be nice if google included more in house options for themes, colors and backgrounds. Sms, gmail, calendar and email are ridiculously white. I'd like more black background white text options. We also need a toggle for the gpu clocks or coolbho3000 to hook us up in setcpu. Options for amount of home screens. 32GB and/or micro sd. Better clock options. Damn pogo pins car dock already.

Stole the words out of my mouth. It sounds like nit-pickey stuff but it really would bring it all together nicely.

Your second point is fixed in 4.0.3
I agree with the OP I hope google does something new with the notifications.
Even just adding them to the lockscreen like iOS would be awesome
I also dislike how the notifications have a character limit, it would be cool if you had the dropdown open long enough the text would scroll
- I'd love to have swiping away a text or email mark it as read. And while we're on notifications I don't get why contact pics don't display in the drop-down bar for texts, only for emails.
- Swiping away a recent app actually kills it
- Option to easily switch between the phone & people apps
- Option to mute shutter sound right in camera menu
- Notification bar toggles like in CyanogenMod or AOKP

Swiping away apps actually does kill them, you can see the process dying in the logs when removing from recent app list
I would like a new SMS app theme. The current one is pretty ugly. Something like Windows Phone 7's messaging theme would be much nicer.

The reason I ask is im just doing a concept design for ICS. Not a custom launcher but actual improvements to stock.
For notifications i actually meant the looks and functionality of it. The first concept ive done is to change how the text notifications work.
I don't like the character limit or how restrictive it is, so I've changed it.
Hopefully when I've got my concepts together, someone will be able to help make them a reality, be it a dev, the cyanogen team or google themselves lol.

I would really like a change to the lockscreen while listening to music. I want the bottom half of the screen to be transparent, or to show the wallpaper instead of beeing black. I have been searching through SystemUI, framework-res and android.policy.jar to try and find it, but haven't as of yet.

Soft button area supporting gestures
I came to Android from webOS after HP shot themselves in the foot several times and one of the things I miss most is the gesture bar you had at the bottom of the screen. With the advent of the soft button area in ICS I see a real option to enable the area to work in a similar fashion.
For those that are unfamiliar with it it's basically an area at the bottom of the screen blocked off from apps that registers simple finger gestures. This made the basics of actually using a device a breeze and pleasure i.e. no looking for a particular button / tapping the wrong button when you weren't looking and the gestures were consistent no matter what app was running.
The gestures were:
A single swipe up would show you your running apps.
Swiping 2 fingers up would show you the launcher (app drawer).
A leftward swipe would go back.
A full swipe across the entire area going either right or left would take you to the next or previous running app.
Besides the wireless charging the gesture area was one of the webOS killer features you very quickly learned to take for-granted. So yeah, I'd like the soft button area to handle gestures in case you haven't guessed already

How stupid. Definitely a tweak that should be there
Honestly, the only two things I want to be changed in terms of the UI are
1.) The ability to hide the soft keys at will for example, if I'm playing a game I want to be able to utilize the entire screen. I think a gesture to hide + bring back the soft keys is the solution. Highly unlikely to be implemented anytime soon
2.) Such as many launchers which have the functionality to have scrollable docks, I would like the soft keys to be scrollable. It would be pretty awesome to be able to have different toggles such as wifi, Bluetooth and even apps always available since unlike the notification bar, the soft keys never disappear regardless of the current app.

[INFO] Galaxy Nexus - Tips, tricks and undocumented features

Hey,
There was a thread like this a while ago (here) but it kind of died and the OP was never updated so I'm restarting it here
Here are tips, tricks, undocumented/lesser known features etc. Please add more and I'll try and keep this post updated. I'll probably try to categorise in the future as well and add more pictures.
--------------
General ICS
You can uninstall an app straight from the app drawer -
Simply drag it from the app drawer to the bin at the top of the home screen.
Removing the Google Search bar from home screens -
Just go into Settings > Apps > Google Search > Disable
When using an app which has been updated to use the new action bar, you can hold down on an icon for a brief description of what it does
Take a screenshot - Hold the volume down and power key (simultaneously)
On the volume bar, you can press the icon on the left to switch between ring and vibrate.
You can use the front facing camera to record 720p HD video
If you double tap whilst recording a video you can take a still image
Clock app
Whilst in the Clock app - tapping the screen will dim everything with your wallpaper in the background. Long-pressing the screen will black everything out and turn the clock blue

}
Clock app
When you receive an incoming call from a land line, it displays the location based on the area code
Hardware acceleration in apps -
Enable in Settings > Developer options > Forge GPU rendering
This can make some apps run a lot smoother, however it can also make others force close so you have to experiment a bit.
Owner Info -
In Settings -> Security -> Owner Info
You can enter info to display on the lockscreen, such as a name or a phone number to call if it is lost
Face unlock -
If you're on 4.0.2, you can take multiple pictures to improve recognition, for example in different lighting, with or without glasses on, etc.
When using slide to unlock, you can access notifications without unlocking by pulling down the notification bar as you usually would
Camera time lapse mode -
The Galaxy Nexus has a nice little feature which lets you create time lapse videos like this video. It's under video on the stock camera app.
Time lapse
Multi-touch bug -
There is a bug which sometimes stops the device registering input from both sides (seen in this video). A temporary solution until Google fixes it, is to turn the screen off and on again (solution from this thread)
Easter Egg -
Under About on settings, tap repeatedly on the version number for a little ICS picture. Tap and hold the picture for an animation.
Browser
Browser quick controls -
Enable in Browser Settings > Labs > Quick Controls
Removes the top bar and lets you access controls by sliding your thumb in from the side of the screen, great feature!
Quick controls
Long press the back button in the browser to get to History/Bookmarks
Inverted rendering in browser -
Enable in Browser settings > Accessibility > Inverted Rendering
Saves battery and makes night-time reading easier
Inverted rendering
Stock keyboard
On the prediction bar, tap on a word and slide your finger up to see more choices (you can also long press)
If you need just one symbol, press and hold the ?123 key, then slide your finger to the symbol you want, then release -- you'll automatically be returned to letter-entry mode.
If you long-press the stock keyboard space bar, it will allow you to select a different keyboard.
Other apps
Low speaker volume
There is a paid app on the market called Volume+ which is apprently quite good, allows you to increase the speaker volume beyond the normal limit (costs 99p)
Can't add Facebook account
This is a problem due to a dispute between Google & Facebook. There is a paid app called Haxsync which works quite well for syncing your Facebook pictures/status updates to your contacts (costs 89p)
Customise LED notifications
There is an app on the Market called Lightflow which lets you change lots of LED settings such as pulse time, colour etc. (Free or paid for £1.49)
Stop it going to call log after a call ends
Paid app called AfterCall (92p) will let you change what happens, for example go back to your previous app. Also two free alternatives: On Call End and Not Call Log.
Speaker Proximity
Automatically switches to speakerphone when you pull the phone away from your face, and vice-versa.
Reserved in case I run out of space.
Thanks, some useful info indeed in there!
I disabled google search bar but I can't find it anywhere to enable now.
Edit. its the last one on the app list.

what kind of errors does this fix? what do you mean by "message not sent properly"?
what "field" needs to be slid left to right?

Stock keyboard has a couple, tap the word in question and slide your finger up to see more choices. You can also long press the word.

Another stock keyboard tip -- if you need just one symbol, press and hold the ?123 key, then slide your finger to the symbol you want, then release -- you'll automatically be returned to letter-entry mode.
And if you long-press the stock keyboard space bar, that will allow you to select a different keyboard.

Amazing, didn't know about these! Having to press the symbol key, then the symbol, and then the symbol key again to get back is one of the things that put me off using the stock keyboard. I might try it again now!

Updated with multi-touch bug tip
I discovered this on my Captivate while running different ROMS, including CM7.
If you go into Settings then About Phone you can tap on where it says Android Version 4 times to see a picture of the android dude holding an ice cream sandwhich. If you touch and hold any part of the screen with the android on it then you will feel the phone vibrate a few times then be led to a cool animation.
*Note this also works in Gingerbread but only requires 3 taps instead of 4. I'm not sure if there's a cool animation in Gingerbread though.

Don't forget that the camera also has time-lapse and panoramic options
Here are my "Pro Tips":
- after a call ends you are returned to the call log; very annoying (especially when in Navigation); AfterCall by iMediot helps solve this problem
- another useful / cool app is SpeakerProximity; it will automatically switch between speaker and head output based on the values from proximity sensor.

Going a step farther (I did this on my Jelly Bean leaked LIH ROM), you can press on the city/USA and you get the following screens with a series on time options across the top of the screen. If you scroll to the left, there is a 5th option called Desk Clock. When you choose that, you get a calendar with weather for your city. There is a small button below the Desk Clock option that gives you a full screen with workable icons on the bottom. In landscape mode, it adds YouTube! I will try to put the screens in order: A series of back buttons get you back to your home screen. This actually has the same functionality as the little round white clock app in your app drawer (named appropriately "Clock")

You can also get to it under: setting/Accessory/earphones. I just did not realize it until after I figured out how to get to it from the desk clock. Oh well.

[APP][TRIAL] DeskBar Launcher will replace your soft buttons and more!

Hello!
I'm an Android developer and I almost finished a new app called Deskbar Launcher.
I created it for many reasons. First I was fed up by the look of the system bar with Home/Back/Recent Apps and the huge waste of space it makes. Like many others I tried alternative solutions like HideBar and the likes but then I looked at my laptop and at its ribbon bar which I use all the time and I thought it would be a good idea to have something similar on Android.

}
Download links are now in the new thread here. If you have any comments, suggestions or problems, please report there. Thanks
Features :
-can replace your soft buttons (sadly Back button needs root, after lots of search I don't think it is possible otherwise)
-add shortcuts to your favorite apps on the bar
-music controllers to go to pause/go to next/previous song in any apps
-volume controllers
-lock button to minimize accidental input of your bar and soft buttons
-access all your apps in StartMenu as well as categories such as Pictures, Music, Settings, etc.
-(experimental)(ROOT)fullscreen mode.
Future features:
-Folders
-Themes
-Reboot button for root users
-etc
I developed it mainly on Nexus7, that's why I post here before releasing it on the Play Store. It is a Trial version of 10days and when you launch it you need internet access for verification, after it's not necessary except if you reload it. A licence key will soon be available.
There might be some bugs!
Questions
Q:I don't have Root and not having a back button is not possible for me, it seems I can't use your app.
Q:I already got rid of my system bar, it will cover screen content so it's not usable for me too.
A: You can! Deskbar Launcher has an autohide feature so you can still access your back button. Bring it up only when it's needed!
Q: I have one bar for soft buttons and notifications (no status bar on top) . Your app will cover the notification part and I won't be able to access my notifications
A. There is a setting especially for that so the Deskbar takes only half your device's width, in the future the width of Deskbar might be more customizable.
Q : Can I use it on my other tablet/phone ?
A. Yes! It is theoretically compatible with all 2.2 or + Android devices! There might be some problems on specific rom or with some manufacturers. Please report to me in this case.
i'll try and report,i haven't mean exactly what does (using it is more intuitive!)
thanks for now mate!
Will be testing this for sure!
Edit
Light usage so far
Pros:
- Quick easy access to your music, photos, and documents
- Completely changes look and feel of the bottom nav bar without need for root or new ROM
- can view and switch to apps of your choice quickly with out exiting current app
- in-depth settings with good amount of customization
- work around for non-rooted users
Cons:
- visual appeal isn't appealing( to me at least)
- nav buttons feel a little too close together
- cannot change the color of the bar
- auto hide feature needs work as it seems finicky
What I would like to see:
- short cuts to user defined app in menu
- options to change colors
- quick toggles in menu (WiFi, Bluetooth, etc...)
Other then that I really like it and its a good change. Will love to see the advancement of this project later down the road! Great work indeed!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
Thanks for your feedback!
About suggestions and bad points:
-Yeah visual appeal is kind of generic, I'm not the best at design/art . Themes should give a workaround for those who don't like it in one of the next updates. (By the way there was a bug with the start button not showing the glowing icon when start menu was displaying . It's fixed in the new version, it's the same download link, uninstall is needed if you have the previous version.
-I plan on adding a setting to have custom distance between buttons because on some device space is precious and on others there's plenty of it.
-Themes should also address this issue
-Not sure what you mean by this, I admit it's not ideal because there's no animation, it just goes down after a 3seconds delay. I will add a smooth movement option in the future.
-user-defined shortcuts in menu is planned, as well as folders containing app shortcuts
-I'll try to add Theming fast
-Quick Toggles is indeed interesting, I'll think of ways to add it in the Menu.
Awesome! I see this as being a good hit

This damn thing is INTUITIVE. Seriously, I love the feel of it and it really looks quite nice on my N7. Cheers for letting us try this, I think its a really good fit and shows promise of something in the future. Killjoy question: what will the licensing price new?
Im really loving this! I do have have more thing that I would like to see added and that would be having resizeable options for the menu its self. More so users can choose exactly how many pixels the pull up menu actually takes up. I'm also picky like that though.

Very minor complaint: after about an hour of use, it starts to feel a bit sluggish. That is, I'll tap on home, back it recent and it'll take about a second to respond. I rebooted my tablet and suddenly I got my groove back. Maybe it's a memory issue? Just thought I'd chime in, I'm really enjoying this mod!

-ability to change icons/icon sets of shortcuts
-expanded version of the menu to see more apps at once

Music buttons worked great, as did the launcher button. No shortcuts added. I'm wondering if the error came from my rom or what, I'm running slim bean beta 2 with faux beta 14b01. Haven't had any issues since restarting, maybe it was a fluke?
New version uploaded which uses less memory and has a new welcome screen ( not so well done but I wanted one to have a link to the video tutorial I finished ).

Maybe, or it's the way to simulate virtual buttons that can sometimes go wrong, it's kind of a hack but there isn't really any alternative. It should work most of the time and as well as similar apps offering virtual buttons alternative.
I have to go, I'll be back tomorrow.
EDIT:I forgot to add if you already installed it, erase app data before uninstalling and installing the new one because the way data was saved as changed.

Running CM11 ROM.
I'll just live without tablet/extended mode for now, editing the LCD density in build.prop to 268 helped make the text/icons smaller for more screen real estate.
Only minor bug I've found so far is the stock browser crashes when trying to select pull down menu built into certain websites.
Looks like I'll just have to stick to my current 4.1.2 ROM setup if what I've just read is true, that Google completely removed tablet mode coding from 4.4+ KitKat android OS.
Only hope now is if a Dev finds a method to some how bring it back.

I might give it another go, but all the 4.2/4.3+ custom ROM's I've tested out have had some sort of issues.
+ I honestly dislike the silly square quick tiles layout update after 4.2+ and the lock screen widgets.
Eg.
I'd need:
Tablet mode without any extra zoom/fit screen icons on status/nav bar
Stock browser that doesn't crash with full screen quick controls enabled
Extended desktop without the built in PIE controls, need straight date/time/battery info not the silly sideways info
Brightness bar present on quick toggles that's adjustable without it disappearing after first attempt as are the other toggles(Wi-Fi/torch/rotate/GPS/AP)
See-through lock screen w/min. 5 app swipe ring shortcuts while still displaying date/time/alarm/battery info.
Etc...

But I've had all those features for over a year on 4.1.2, so I don't see why they can't be had on the latest ROM's.

I'll test out CM-remix this evening, looks promising since it looks to have the most features rich 4.4 ROM to date.

Exactly my point, CM-remix is highly feature based! And for any additional features, you have the xposed module!

It's just that Google decided to change their UI and system design language, to make it simple and streamlined, and I think I love that.
Seeing your screenshots reminds me of some Gingerbread elements (e.g. non-Holo icons, super-big icons, rounded corners...) and having been spoiled by the "awesomeness" of 4.4, I actually feel very uncomfortable looking at those OVERLY customized experience.
Again, personal experience, YMMV...

Mods, you can go ahead and delete this thread now.
Seriously though, these type of threads are against the rules of XDA, if you want certain features then find roms that contain them yourself.
Looks like we have a winner!
CM-remix has won my vote.
Running w/ART enabled which also works with:
apex launcher
PGM2
Only a couple issues:
Under settings selecting storage tab crashes settings
When Google now is enabled selecting any search results crashes stock browser on launch (w/full screen browser mode)
S p a m. Use xposed. Peace

Just clear data app/settings
Should solve most settings crash issues

Except for lock screen ring, I recommend you Paranoid Android. Not at the moment, because it's on beta and the majority of those features are being rewritten from scratch. But Halo, Pie and Hybrid are the best features, and the new versions will be even better. PA Pie are the best. In new version they also included a QuickSettings2.0 that are so good and Transparent LockScreen is blurred to protect your privacy (I remember that blurred is configurable). Also included Immersive Mode like others.
At least, be updated about their job and when they launch a release with the rest of their features.

My plan WAS to wait until a hybrid PA 4.4 ROM was available, but I gave up after reading how Google had removed side by side tablet coding from 4.4 in favor for the slide out bar method.
CM-REMIX has all the features you've mentioned and many more:
For better/purer screen whites/colors, tweak use the following pics, you may need to set one # at a time:
It seems great. I'll try it.
Btw, I wait for PA. New Halo will be more integrated with system and I don't change it for nothing. It's the only feature that I can't live without it. Thanks for info, screenshots and color calibration

I would recommend these two:
"OmniMetal"

and "Paranoid SaberDroid + REMIX"

Give it a whirl.
