To separate the devices and avoid the confusion of n7105 users flashing stuff made for the n7100 and having any problems.
Anybody else with me?
Thank you mods for making a new forum for the T-Mobile gn2!

There is no point at this time yet, the device hasn't found enough of a userbase to justify that. All stuff here is supposed to be meant for n7100 unless otherwise stated. There should not be confusion, it's a user fault if anything at all.
Just my 2 cents.

Of course it'd be user fault for not reading the thread completely but we're trying to avoid that for those who don't or accidentally miss the last digit in the device name.

The mods will probably keep using one forum bit with different developmeny sub forums.

Good idea but need to turn it around. This forum should be left alone and a new one established for TMo to avoid flashing issues. There are several forums for the S III for just that reason.
But leave THIS forum as it is.

Would any of the kernels or roms from the n7100/n7105 work with the SGH-T889?

No it will make ur device unstable. I'm helping a guy now repair his device from this very reason. Its an easy mistake to make that's why the forum should be split up.

You nailed it. I'm not willing to sacrifice security, and stock JB gives me everything I need. XDA is a great resource to learn about Android and see what's coming, which is why I'm here.

Most of the apps have already been pulled and if you're so impatient that you can't wait ~1-2 weeks for AOSP to push then please dig for yourself.

What security are you worried about ? I find it really hard to get malware or brick the phone. And im one of those reckless kind who downloads first. Ask questions later. Ive never gotten virus or anything, bricked once when trying somthin new. But data still remsins. If security is a big issue. Just root and dont download anythng not frm xda. Youll b good

Some of us have reasons/requirements for not rooting. The decision isn't wrong either way; it's how you use your device.

Seems very fake! The Galaxy S II, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy Beam are very old phones, and will probably not get an update... Plus there is no such thing as Android 5.0

Dual Boot has been confirmed working on the Galaxy Note 2.
A developer with enough time and dedication can absolutely do it.
