I have the stock rom and for some reason my photos are being synced from my old phone and some from fb. I do have some photos that got sync that I do not want on there if you know what I mean but I can't remove them and for some reason there synced photos. Can't figure out how to remove them.

Go to System Settings > Accounts, then choose your google account and uncheck "google photos" or "web albums". Then go System Settings> Apps go to ALL tab, tap on Gallery then force stop, clear data and last clear cache (don't worry about your photos being deleted), then open the gallery app and hopefully your problem is solved. I had this problem with picasa web albums syncing photos and also I could not delete them
Hope it helps!

I disabled the Facebook sync because it seemed to be using up a lot of space on my phone and I kept getting the "low storage" notification. So it doesn't sync any new contacts, but all the ones that it already downloaded are still on my phone. Is there any way to get rid of them, without clearing my Google contacts too?
I think you have to clear Contacts Storage:
Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All > Contacts Storage > Clear data

But when I delete a contact from my phone, it deletes it from my Gmail too. So if I delete all of them from my phone, won't it delete all of them from Gmail too?
I think that if you disable syncing of google (under Settings>Accounts & Sync)...then clear contacts...then re-enable syncing. After you re-enable google sync it should restore all your google contacts. Do a backup before hand just in case.

Alright I did that. Actually clearing the contacts data just deletes the Facebook contacts, so I had to go to the phonebook and choose "select all > delete". Then I restarted my phone and it synced on startup and got all of my Google contacts back.
I went from 20mb of contacts to 2mb. It looks like Facebook takes up a lottttttt of space.
just pics uses somuch space?

It must be the pics. I have about 600 Google contacts and 650 Facebook contacts, yet the Google contacts take up 2mb and the Facebook contacts took up 18mb. I have pictures for about 5% of my Google contacts whereas Facebook downloads the pictures for 100% of its contacts. Facebook also downloads other info like their status updates and birthdays and stuff, so I guess it's all of that put together that takes up all the space.
Ok, so I'm sick o my picasa albums showing up in my gallery. And under accounts and sync I turned of the picasa syncing as well but they are still there.
Is there a way to remove them? I also tried to delete the google account off my phone then re add it and quickly uncheck the picasa web album sync but I can't be fast enough haha.
I know there's a solution! Help me!
Thanks!
Go into Accounts & Settings -> Your Gmail -> Uncheck Picasa Sync [you already did this].
Go into apps and find gallery. Clear cache and data.
Reopen gallery, you're good to go.
This should work:
- Settings / Accounts & sync / your google account / uncheck Sync Google Photos
Then:
- Settings / Apps / All / Gallery / Clear data, then Force Stop
just tried both of those things didn't work

Same for me...
can anyone offer some help here?
Yep,
Go to Apps and click on Google+
Click on uninstall updates.
Go to Accounts and Sync and check if Sync Google Photos is ticked or even present. Make sure it isn't.
(If you're using google+ continue reading)
Go to the Google+ app
Log in but make sure you do not choose Instant Upload
After logging into the app, go to setting and double check if the Instant Upload setting aren't ticked. Then go the Account and Sync and check there as well if Sync Google Photos isn't ticked.
Go to Gallery to confirm the Picasa albums are gone.
Is there anyway to remove all picture related to Google + out of my Gallery app? I use Instant Upload and would like to retain that feature.
I am referring to 'Profile Photos' and 'Scrapbook Photos.'
if i'm correct, go into settings, accounts, your gmail account settings, and uncheck Google Photos.

Wrong this will only stop newer pictures from syncing. If you have instant upload on they will show on your gallery.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Go into google+ sign out, and sign in again
then go to into settings, accounts, your gmail account settings, and uncheck Google Photos & Google+
So, I have a peculiar issue with my S3. When I add a google account, it asks me what all I want to sync to my phone (calendar, gmail, picasa albums etc.) and I have unchecked the picasa and google photos box there. Still, when I open the gallery, I see all my picasa albums there. Is there a way some different way to stop the phone from syncing the picasa albums? This is happening with my 3 different google accounts. I only want the gallery to have local pictures and not the ones associated with my gmail account. Is there a way to do this? Am I missing something?
Thanks for your help.
I too hate this... and there is no way to stop default gallery app from syncing... even with sync disabled in settings.
1. Get an app like TiBu that can freeze apps.
2. Freeze Gallery app and unfreeze it only when you need to change lock screen image.
3. Install some app like QuickPic to replace gallery.
There is a process call Picasa Uploader. Try freezing it and see if that helps. Am not sure on this though.
Even after not choosing to sync photos from your google account, somehow it still shows in your gallery.
Here's the fix for this.
Setup your Google account with photos not checked to sync (as u know even after this, photos still shows in gallery).
Then go to "Application Manager", "All", in "Gallery", choose "Clear data".
This will clean the thumbnails, not your actual photos. If you chose to uncheck photo sync from Google, it will not appear again. Must be a bug with the OS synching with google. Hope this helps.

additionally, (depending on your rom) you can go into your gallery, hit menu and select what photos/albums you want showing up there. you should be able to select just the albums on the device.

make sure sync for the picasa albums is still off, then go into Settings > Application manager. select the All tab, find Gallery and hit the clear data button. next time you open the Gallery, it will take a moment to rebuild it but the picasa albums should finally be gone.

That worked like a charm. Thanks!
I actually don't mind this but it is annoying that it scans every folder for pictures. I end up seeing random album art in mine. Is there way to stop that?

throw a .nomedia file in the folders you don't want showing up in your gallery.
How do I get rid of them? I can't hide or delete. I want them gone for good.
Sign out og your google account and sign back in, go to accounts and click google then uncheck picasa sync before it syncs... Gotta be quick though.

I tried the unsync method. I'll try the signing out.
Tried that and no luck. It was like 1 second and I tried twice. All 200+ pictures were synced within that 1 second.
SOLVED: Unsync Picasa Web Albums then Clear Data. Crap gone!
Disable Picasa syncing first and then go to Apps in System Settings and clear all data for Gallery.
EDIT: Never mind. I see you figured it out, lol.
