Hi there folks
I rooted my LGOG with the motochopper method and it gave me a lovely rooted device.
Then i decided to install Rom Manager and grant it super user acces.
When i rebooted after the rom manager had downloaded the recovery files it got stuck at
"secure booting error!"
Cause : boot certification verify
My problem now is ive got all the tutorial files found in this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010624 post, but the original firmware program doesn't connect to the lg servers with my model number and IMEI.
Could someone with an E975 help me with a stock kdz so i can save whats left of the brick, it can stil do download mode etc and switch off.
Thanks in advance

Well, maybe you will not get errors next time if you UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER.Only rooting is not enough. You need root to be able to use FREEGEE,to unlock the bootloader. Unlocking the bootloader with freegee will also flash CWM recovery or TWRP, depending on your choice.
See what happens when you don't document yourself properly before trying to do things?
All is fine now, i couldn't download the KDZ since i edited my host file when flashing the L9 two months back.
Im waiting on the freegee support now. cheers
This is a guide for the Chinese version of the Zopo zp998 which has model number 9520. It seems the roms for ZP998 and 9520 may be compatible, but the bootloader is NOT compatible.
UPDATE: Roms for ZP998 can also be flashed on the 9520, but make sure you don't flash the bootloader. If you flash the bootloader you will brick your phone!
My current experience is that flashing YunOS as base firmware and flashing a customized android stock rom using CWM recovery is working best for me.
Flashing with SP flash tools (See detailed tutorial here:
1. Install the Mediatek USB vcom drivers, which can be found here:
2. Download the firmware which is normally in an archive (.zip) file, extract the archive.
Inside this archive there should be a scatter file and the system.img, boot.img etc.
3. Download and open the SP Flash tool, which can be found here.
4. Select the scatter file of the extracted archive
5. Click on download
6. Turn off your phone, and connect your phone to the PC with your USB cable (Sometimes you maybe need to hold Volume UP while connecting).
7. Wait for the popup which shows Download OK.
List of firmware I've found that can be flashed using SP Flash tool:
YunOS - 3.2.1 (Official) (Mirror coming soon)
Stock android 4.2.2 (Seems a port of ZP998)
Install CWM recovery (Not tested):
Flash the following archive using SP Flash tool: flash_recovery.zip
Booting into recovery:
1. Turn of your phone
2. Connect your phone to the USB cable of your PC
3. It should show a battery icon that it's charging only
4. Press Volume up + power button at the same time for about 5 - 10 sec. (Note sequence is important )
Rooting with recovery:
1. Download SuperSU.zip and put it on your SD card
2. Boot into recovery
2. Apply zip from SD card, select SuperSU.zip
It's also possible to root by using the SP Flash tool.
I'm using this rom:
Custom Android 4.2.2 with lots of optimizations and Gapps included: http://bbs.ydss.cn/thread-388092-1-1.html
Download link: 9520_4.2.2_optimized.zip
Installation instructions:
1. Flash Yunos 2.3.1 firmware using SP Flash tool
2. Install recovery
3. Place 9520_4.2.2_optimized.zip on your sd card
4. Boot into recovery
5. Apply zip from SD card

I didn't try as I own a 9520 instead of a 998, but that should work I guess. As people with the 9520 can also install roms of 998.
@Naffeshamed: You can just flash roms of zopo zp 998 so if you can either buy it in China or buy the Zopo Zp998 from aliexpress.com its nearly the same price actually.

I have downloaded the Rom from needrom website and it is for ZP 998, can this I apply on my 9250? the name of the downloaded rom is 'FluffyZopo ZP998 V1.01.zip'
No you must flash a other ROM with flashtool
I have bought an unlocked LG Optimus G Pro and am using it on T-Mobile. It's on JB version 4.1.2. I know AT&T has rolled out KitKat upgrade for Optimus G Pro. I tried to update the software on my phone but it kept saying "Phone not registered to network". I went to LG support page and they redirected me to AT&T for software upgrade. There is no manual download link for the upgrade and AT&T page says it will happen OTA and must have active sim card in it[which I guess means Active ATT sim card].
My question is:
->Is it possible to upgrade it to 4.4.2 version that AT&T has pushed without being on AT&T?
->If so, where can I find the stock/untouched 4.4.2 ROM?
Thanks in advance. Sorry, if this is a repeat question but I did search the threads and didn't find this question anywhere.
Its not completely untouched, but its stock 4.4.2 with a few added features like Slide Aside:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2781401
To install this you need to be rooted and have clockworkmod recovery installed. (This will void your warranty!)
If you install this rom on the international version make sure you delete the modem.img in the zip before flashing throught cwm.
But never install the firmware (kdz) from another model with the lg flash tools, i tried this once and it Hard Bricked my phone
But if you like AT&T bloat and dont want a few more G2 features you can ty this rom:

Thank you very much. Never rooted Android, will look in to the links you have sent to try to figure something out!
But if you dont want to get any trouble with the first rom i sent you should delete the recovery.img, aboot.img and the modem.img because without this i figured out that it can cause Problems where the phone does not either boot or go in recovery. I just want to save you from this Problem because it can be tricky to restore the phone with the LG flash Tool.

Sorry for this question, but seems like XDA has become too big to search these smaller things now

Hey everyone
I have a huge problem with my ace 2, it is stuck on the Samsung logo and it won't go in recovery mode. Please, let me explain, I was fed up with my rooted 2.3 GB ace 2 and I decided to flash CM 10.2. I downloaded the .zip and flashed it along with the suitable gapps. After booting, I realised it did not have any signal and wifi was not available. After searching online for a while with not any results, I decided to flash CM 11. After that, wifi was back but still no signal. I said sc**w it and downloaded the official JB firmware for my phone from sammobile. After flashing it with odin, the phone won't boot. It stays in samsung screen. It won't even go in recovery mode in order to erase cache etc. I tried downgrading to the stock GB, ADB, KIES, DROID EXPLORER, the phone is recognised only in ODIN.
Can anyone help ?
-Thank you for your time
First Try odin with newest custom stocked rom. I got this "brick" couple times. And this think if working every time.

Any (!!) CM needs JB FW at first...
I suggest to begin from scratch! Let the Phone boot completely after each FW flash.
1) Flash 3-Parted FW (see my sig) - Be sure you pick the correct one for you Phone (8160 / 8160P / 8160L)
2) Flash stock JB for your Phone and country
3) Flash CM11 and Gapps

Hi,
I have the flickering screen problem with my phone and it is out of warranty so i can't send it back to repair.
I tried upgrading to the latest firmware, tried factory reset, wipe cache, installing google launcher, enabling the HW thing in developer mode and nothing worked.
I read that WW_2.12.40.11 version doesn't have the screen problem and i want to try it, but i wanna be sure i'm doing it the right way.
1) I read that i can't just put the wanted firmware in my phone and install the update but i must also flash the matching recovery to flash the wanted version - is it true?
2) Can i downgrade straight from my version to the lower one because i think the other way around, i need to have higher version for upgrading to the higher version i now have.
3) Where can i find the adb driver for this?
Thanks
You can downgrade via ext sd card using the downgrade version from asus > 52.20.40.196 LP which when installed , reboots to 2.20.40.196LP
When putting WW-UL- 52.20.40.196.zip.zip ,make sure to put an extra .zip on the end in file manager or in sd from pc first and reboot.
If you then put WW-UL-2.12.40.11-user.zip.zip (extra .zip) on sd or in file manager . You might get that to give you notification after a reboot too. Although i have not tested to downgrade that far .
You must use the first 52.20 blah blah fw to initially downgrade first though. Ignore this and you are liable to brick. Here >
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZE551ML/UL-Z00A-WW-52.20.40.196-user.zip
See my downgrade via ext sd video and thread , familiarise yourself with the process first !

OK, it's weird, i did flash the 2.12.40.11 recovery.img to the phone using adb and it was said in the console that the process completed, but now when i enter recovery mode it still shows me 4.21.40.223 version.
OK, I did downgrade with your method and it works great, but when i try to downgrade fro that version to the version i want to try i get error that i cant install the package over the existing newer version.
Just to inform.

If you want to downgrade to such an old version, find the .raw file of that version (search here on XDA) and flash it via Asus Flash Tool.

If you have all the img partitions you can always try installing via fastboot commands but i really recommend using a raw with Asus Flash Tool...

Hi, thanks i'l try that.
does it matter in what order i flash this 3 files?
Edit: If i already flashed the ROM can i just flash the boot.img and droidboot.img or do i need to do the whole process including flashing the ROM again?
Is your screen flickering problem like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRuxTefNcKw
If its like that I was told its a LCD hardware problem which gets fixed by replacing LCD.
Update:
Well, I installed firmware 2.12.40.11 and it worked fine for several days but then the screen started to flicker again.
i started to update the devices with OTA updates and then i saw that in firmware WW_2.20.40.174 the screen didn't flicker.
i had further updates and then the screen started to flicker again.
i tried to flash recovery.img, boot.img and droidboot.img but not the device only enters fastboot mode but when i try to enter normal boot or recovery mode, it only comes back to fast boot mode.
any suggestion what should i do to unbrick the phone?
Thanks
