I've been a long time iPhone user, since the first one, and I just bought a Galaxy s3 and can honestly say I don't miss it at all. The new one is just more of the same....
This is probably going to get locked down real fast.....but its definitely a BIG dissappointment. Some of my friends are turning into hypocrites real fast saying they'll buy it. Especially when they told me"I don't need a bigger screen, 3.5 is more than enough" this was when I had the x10, captivate, nexus s etc. iPhone users need to wake up.

I was going to reply, just this..LOL so funny. I had every iPhone ever released until 3 weeks ago, got the GS3 and i couldn't be happier, iP5 is just a minor minor revision, playing catch up to the rest of the world.
The only feature I was eagerly looking forward to in the iPoop5 was NFC, but, nope, mobile payments are now set back a few years for everyone.

Actually, what we really need would be Google Wallet support for our GS3's without the hack-around. But we know that wouldn't work with Apple since they're now Anti-Google. Forget where i saw it... think it was on the news earlier, but i like how they put it. Something along the lines of "There is so much competition between Apple and Google, that Apple decided to recreate the world." in regards to Apple's new maps system.

Lol they do. They said my infuse is too big for pockets :face palm: now I just say I'm used to having big things in my pocket, but 4.5 isn't really all that large anymore. So many I sheep at my school, then again I'm at a richer private school lol they were all like ooohh ahh the iPhone 5 is the best. Then I shut them up when I told them about the gnote 2 haha.

Its almost impossible to get (cheap) nfc tags in Canada. I asked a Best Buy rep at the Eaton Centre store in Toronto a couple of days ago, and he had no idea what NFC was.
I was really hoping the new iphone would have it so that it would become 'mainstream', but guess we have to wait another year now. Also, doesn't help that stupid S Beam is incompatible with Android Beam (try transferring photos to any non-GS3 phone, it will fail..till we get updated to JellyBean)

i remember reading reviews almost 'ranting' about how light the galaxy s and galaxy s ii were. people were saying 'too light', 'does not feel premium because phone does not feel substantial in hand', 'iphone is perfect with high quality weight to it', 'sometimes not sure if in pocket or not'. something along those lines.
and i read this on a youtube comment but I think it could hold some truth. could Apple have not included nfc (even if it wanted to/why wouldn't they want to?), because it already finalized its aluminum design? fail.

Just to explain why some might be that way. Is basically cause we like all forms of technology including competing phones to Android, we research to see what we are up against. I for one think the iPhone is a great device, for people that want simple but works. I've read more about the iPhone then I've read about most new androids... I've also turned many of my friends who were huge on the iPhone to start using android. Overall most people don't dislike the iPhone just the maker...
My thoughts at least.

Yeah I understand that, trust me I'll probably get one myself, I don't like to judge till I used one, but sometimes the focus on this websites is just hate... And is the same in other forums as well(**cough** mac rumors **cough**) but everything cool people that waits a week on line is ridiculous tho lol

Yeah and I understand I got some friends like that, I use two phones to work and I found it useless to Carry two android phones... So either the iPhone or the new lumina (which it actually looks really hot right now)

Totally agree, it's their business practices that lost me as a fan back when they released the original iPhone. Still bought iPods until I got my Vibrant in 2010, then they all collected dust until I bought a Nano to use as a watch. But I'll never, ever own an iPhone. Android=freedom to customize and affords the opportunity to learn at least a little on how things work.

Don't get me started on their business practices. The only Apple product I've ever owned was an iPod Video and even that was a gift. It's mind blowing with the iPods how they had all the technology to make the iPod Video the first generation iPod, but they purposefully stripped useful features away so they can slowly add the features back and sell it as a whole new device. The really unexpected part is stupid people still pay for it!
It's the same thing with the iPhone now. There's no reason why the iPhone 4S only had a 800 Mhz processor when everyone else was putting out 1.0 to 1.5Ghz processors. It's the same business tactic. Put out a substandard product now, release a later version with some of the stripped features, make idiots buy the same device twice.

I think this rep needs to work in the Apple store rather than at AT&T. Obviously he is clueless as to which phones was included in the lawsuit that Apple won as the Galaxy S3 wasn't included in that trial. Even though Apple is trying to in another case.

I think it's mainly because there's only one Apple phone releases a year and there's a million Android devices every year. Android now owns more than 70% market share. If the Nexus was the only Android device available, 7 in 10 people would have a Nexus, 2 would have an iPhone, 1 would have a Windows 8 phone and one 1 Blackberry. With the Nexus being the best, its retail value would be higher than the iPhone. It's not that the Apple has high resale value. It's that there's only one IPhone a year from one manufacturer and it happens to be second place in market share. Completely understandable.

Nah dude. Let's be honest here. iPhones are great devices. There's a reason why they're so popular. I do think that Android devices are much better but I used to be an iPhone owner up until the 3gs.

Exactly. That company sucks and is too high on themselves. They want to sue everyone cause they are afraid of competition. Thanks to them suing Samsung, I was stuck without a phone for 5 weeks back in August and September when my last S2 quit working and I was up in NE on the road

It comes down to the simple fact that they want to stop all competition by suing everyone because they can't innovate. And they want to charge exorbitant amounts for what they sell. Their thinking is that they should be the only ones around and you either pay their high prices or did without. They are nothing but crooks that are clogging up the legal system to make themselves richer but the moment while people have to scrape and save just to have food. My strong opinion and wish is that their stock drops rapidly and they company dies a quick death cause. That company just makes me sick.

Also, apple is good at marketing and developing a 'cult' for their brand. Additionally, their devices are simple and limited (insert vehicle comparison analogy here). I am never able to use a modern OS without getting OCD'd to skin/theme/flash/etc so no Apple for me, like most of the people here.

The iphone does not suck its a kick ass phone they also make the best tablets in my honest opinion but I will still never buy another Apple product again...i don't like how they move jobs overseas. If they kept them here they would still make a profit.. They are so big of a company that they could single handedly make a giant dent in the unemployment rate in the United States and offer many people an honest job. Yeah but apple isn't going to fail anytime soon. The company is huge and the average consumer loves their products because they are simple and they just work. If my galaxy s 4g wasnt rooted and custom rom'd then i wouldnt even be able to use it for simple tasks. The average person doesnt have the time for all that. They want something that works properly and works really good. Not everyone wants to mod and constantly theme their device every day of the week. You can do that with apple if you jailbrake your device anyways. I don't understand why do you guys take things like this so personally. So what if apple does what it does. Does it have any relevance with our life or take anything away from you? No. They aren't taking away from YOUR market share or taking away your money so why should it even matter to any of you at all. I'm only in high school and it seems like I understand this better than you guys. It really is not a big deal at all. I know that my next phone isn't gonna be another android unless they come out with a 32gb nexus. I have owned literally EVERY high end android device that has been available in the US. Even some that haven't for that matter. But this is by far the best device i've ever owned. It excels in every area. The display is phenomenal, the specs are top notch, and the real world use is where it should be considering the power this thing flaunts. As far as smoothness and fluidity go it's in a league of its own. I've had the note 2, i've had the one x+, I've had the dna, and they cant even hold a candle to this device. All we need now is for some of the awesome devs we have to pump out some JB ROM's and we're golden. The dev support is there though. With all those things considered, I'm going as far as to say this is the best phone ever made IMHO. Thoughts anyone?

At my school they know my word is golden- I have the best phone available, and nobody else has it. I love being a tech geek. But really, If youre not on sprint or verizon you should just get a nexus 4. Its almost the same thing, but better software side. Also, not many people like LG so not as many users (or devs) as we would like. JB is on its way though. I tried a few methods along with other devs, and well get eventually.

Before I made up my mind on this phone I did a little research..I read so many articles downing this phone..the UI seemed cartoonish..unable to access the battery..no microSD slot..how it had great specs "but"

Don't agree. Once we had 2 gig's of RAM and 1.5ghz quad core in a phone they pretty much locked future proof in the bag.

Severely doubt that rumor. Samsung is Android's Apple. They will bump as minimally as possible to sell the next model. Quad core, 2gb ram, 16gb storage. Book it.
This phone is the best on the market outside of the Nexus 4. If we can get past this bootimg bull**** from Sprint and LG we'll have a really fun phone. HTC Evo had a very slow takeoff as well, and before you knew it there were too many roms. We're almost there and I love it.
Best phone ive ever had by by far! Love everything about it! Glad i didnt get the note 2. The pro is going to be pimp to.

At least once a day when i use this phone. Im like holy crap this phone is f in awesome. Especially when i take it out of its case (diztronic) . Maybe this phone is so good is doesnt need roms....nah!!!!

I can honestly say this is he best I've had so far. At first I was considering the iPhone 5, but too many people at my job had it. Did a lot of research on this phone and saw a lot of people bashing it before it even came out. When the phone was released I went to sprint to get a feel for he phone and they didn't even have it on display! No love was given to this phone at first. I took the leap and bought it at bestbuy anyway. Best decision I made as far as picking a phone. My brother got the gs3 and when I showed him my phone he liked the lgog more. Not to mention his phone is always on the charger as opposed to mine lol. Glad this phone is getting some love tho.

At my school (I'm a teenager) everyone has either iPhones or Galaxy or an older android. No one honestly has the Optimus G, as far as I can see.
And everyone is like "I LOVE YOUR PHONE!!!" I am very happy I got this phone.
At first I didn't want it with rumors being LG wasn't the greatest and....no removable backing. But I bought it and it was the best decision ever.
Only thing that would make it better is if the JB update came to my area already

This may be shallow of me but love how the phone feels in my hand-the form and solid feel of the build. Just feels very well made. How well it works is just a bonus!

Agreed. I almost didn't want to put a case on it because I like the feel of the phone. A case is a must tho.

I hope this question isn't too annoying or vague, but I'm considering a trade offer from Craigslist and I want to know if it is "worth it" or not. The offer is an iPhone 4S (I know, not Android, but I'm curious..) for a trade with my S3 - no extra cash either way. I'd prefer an iPhone 5 due to the larger screen but is that too high of a "request" when trading off my S3? I'd just hate to wait for replies for an iPhone 5 trade if the two devices are not even comparable enough to trade from the beginning.

Ok ok lol. I still have an Android tablet and will be back as soon as KLP is out just getting bored. And it would have been funnier if you put "trader" instead... ok bad pun.
The S3 depreciates in value quicker than an iPhone does. But I do think he should be offering you cash + the 4s for your s3.
My friend has an EVO LTE and he got an iPhone 4S + $125 offer the other day. I'd avoid that trade if I were you.
Lol whatever as far as your question goes I would assume the s3 is worth more and I would be asking for money considering the s3 is the superior phone

It'd be a nearly equal trade, possibly a little more expensive for a used iPhone 5 over an S3. But I haven't done much off contract trading so I'm not necessarily the best one to ask.
Honestly I would do straight up trade for an i5 maybe throw in a few bucks if any but of course this is based on opinion.

If your getting bored with your s3, I'm not sure how an iphone will cure that aside from apps, iphones are designed to be boring. Prolly just me tho lol....

Exactly. Say it ain't so! iOS is the most locked down, boring, unchangeable thing you could image being on a phone. Flash a ROM or something. And I would only except a 5 no 4s. :thumbdown:

If you're bored with the S3, time to start flashing ROMs. CM is a lot different experience, so is AOSP/AOKP.
