Can someone help me fully understand. I thought adobe discontinued flash for android 4.0+. Cause of HTML 5 I thought. Anyways why are they still putting out updates. And not. Letting mobile devices use stock? I hate chrome doesn't support flash.

What is the use of flash player??? Please tell me i don't know anything about it.

does my GN2 have to be rooted to download this?
i thought flash player was not supported on GN2?

No you dont have to be rooted. Just download and install as a normal app. Just make sure you have unknown sources checked

Thanks, now I can watch my Amazon prime videos on my phone.

Where the heck is the download on the pages posted? Can someone post a better link like DB or something else?
Edit: I'm asking because I thought we would need JB version not ICS.

Whenever I need to download Flash player on a device, I just google "Archived flash player". One of the first links will be Adobe's website. If you scroll down past the versions for windows computer there will be android devices. Look for the latest version of flash player for your version of Android (i.e. 2.1, 4.0)

The latest version of flash is 11.1.115.81

How did u get it to work with chrome? I get blank page when trying to access flash settings. I dropped to 160 on stock

Pardon my bad! didn't check with all sites.
Well, it's working for basic renderings in sites, and video playback.
Settings still renders black screen.
Have edited the post.
Didn't realize that Adobe would still update this. Works great on my Galaxy Nexus.
Latest roll out updated.
It's not working for me. I used chrome and paranoid latest v.2. I even tried clearing cache. Somehow on the 1.992 it worked fine, don't know if i needed to install flash for chrome or not, it just worked off hand i think.

but 115.7 works just fine with my Nexus7 with Firefox BETA. im too scared to change what's not broken lol
When should html5 be ready for us or JB? Do anyone know, worst case I'll wait a bit if there's no way around this. I heard flash will be discontinued officially by November so html5 should be ready by then?

i just cant wrap this post around my head... i dont get it.
html5 is ready for Nexus.... now. if by 'ready' u mean, we can use it. then yes.
why do u want to wait installing flash has anything to do with html5? some sites will convert from flash to html, yes, but some doesnt.
flash is discontinued since last week or so for Android devices, not for everything else. theres still Flash in the PC and Mac and everything else in between.
if u want flash, then install this.
if u dont want flash, then dont install this. hopefully whatever u want is in html5, or has plan to move to it.

I don't care if it's flash or html5. I just want my video and audio to work on the browser. Since YouTube app restrict desktop content.
I found out that the default browser or chrome doesn't play audio or video content unless i install the flash apk. However, the default browser gives me A/V and chrome only give me audio without the video. You can try playing YouTube video in desktop mode just to make sure or any other video streaming sites. I would love to have html5 but it doesn't seem to be fully implemented yet...

Tested with today's Firefox release. Flash works all fine!!
Wasn't so keen to look into settings though quality seems to be low for flash based websites! as 'm at work.
But in total, Yes it works

I think flash will useful for a long time, trust me.
for those who said that flash or html5 is working perfectly on Firefox or whatever for audio and video content, are you guys on jelly bean Rom or ics? Bc it's only JB the problem, ics has no problem.

Firefox, Firefox Beta, and AOKP browser in Nexus7 rooted: flash video streaming content works fine.
in my ICS RAZR, it also works fine on default Android browser.
test: watchop.com and watch.ctv.ca
I downloaded and installed this and it caused issues with the Play Store. Whenever I pressed the back button while looking at an app, the screen would flash and not return to the previous screen.
This bug went away when I uninstalled the apk.

[How to] Install Adobe Flash Player on Android 4.1.2 and Later

Hi guys... It's me again
Today I want to share something,
not applications, tweaks, MOD and also not Great ROM because I'm not developer (yet)
Maybe some members already knew about this.
Since the our beloved Developers released CM10/CM10.1/CM10.2/CM11 and so many Great ROMs here that supported Jelly Bean and later has released for our Galaxy W,
Beside the happiness and thankful, you have to know something, you will missing flash content on your default browser.
As we know, adobe flash player no longer support for Android 4.1.2 or later
Even you've installed unofficial adobe flash player from many resources, and (of course) the latest one, but we still got green flicker screen on our default browser. So su*k!
How to make it work?
OK, here is the secret...
1. Download Adobe Flash Player for Android from Adobe archive. (Thanks to @arsradu for the link)
2. Install it
3. After adobe installed, open your default browser.
4. Go to settings > advanced
5. And now, turn off "Enable plug-ins"
6. Done
Just it!
Thank you for coming and read this post,
I'm sorry for my bad English
Have a nice day

Thanks İt is usefull for me.
Thank you!! This thread actually helped me.
Uhm..I'm not sure why is that called "unofficial flash player". We can actually download the official apk from Adobe archive. It doesn't get any more updated than that. And I have to admit, I didn't know about disabling the plug-ins. So thank you man.
Also, I think you could edit the thread's title and make it like "How to install Adobe Flash Player on Android 4.1.2 and up/newer/later". I'm pretty sure that will work on newer Android versions as well. Didn't try it so don't take my word for it but I think it will work. Worst case scenario, it won't install but it's not gonna break anything.

Thread created a year ago. Why I called unofficial above because as I suggested to use search box at XDA forum, not using Google. And last year, since Adobe not accessible for 4.0.x or later on playstore, some users keeps asking how to get adobe flash player.
I believe someone already uploaded on XDA forum last year.
But I will keeps your adobe archive link to this thread.
Thanks for your link and your advice @arsradu, I'll do it soon.

Is there a flash player pre installed?

Do i need to install a flash player? Where can i find it?
You'll have to Google it. Android stopped supporting it, and the flash player app was removed from the play store. I'm pretty sure Chrome doesn't support it, and the last I checked, you'll need Firefox to take advantage of a possible flash player app

Actually, flash player doesn't work on Android 4.3 or later. Some library Flash Player needs was removed.
I've read, but I don't recall if applied to Android 4.3, that Flash Player may work with Dolphin Browser that the Rocket Pack add-on extension. It's been quite a while since I read about it, so I don't remember the details. You'll want to Google it.
For dolphin browser
It works with Firefox . I use it on my Note 4.
