[Q] Buttom Touchscreen Dies when Battery Goes Bellow 80% - HTC Wildfire S

Title really says it all: for the past several days whenever my battery goes bellow 80% the right side of the touchscreen stops working and as a result I can't even unlock it. I have tried reverting to the original HTC Android that it came with but that did not help and now I am back to the CM7 I had been using. It is the one from this thread in case you need any more details.
I also did a battery stats wipe when I first installed CM7 a few days ago.

[Q] Phone won't shut down (automatically switches on again)

Hi everybody
I hoped you could help me with this issue that I've had for several days now.
My HTC Desire HD won't shut down after I flashed the CM7 RC4, instead it would automatically reboot. I then full wiped it and reflashed another ROM (revolution hd 3.3) but the problem still persists.
I've read similar threads where OP advised to change the date then take the battery out for one night or stuff like that. I've tried it all, and it's still there !
So do you have any clue to fix this ?
Thank you very much !
After you took out your battery for the night, did the date in the phone get reset to something old once you put the battery back ?
Well I have done this with 2 methods :
- 1st, I changed the date to an old date (before the hour change in Europe), and then pulled out the battery for several hours. When I put the battery back in, the date was still old and not updated.
- 2nd, I left the automatic date, and it would stay the same after I pulled out and put the battery in back again.
In the 2nd case, the phone would automatically boot once the battery is inserted, even when I don't push the power button!
In the 1st case, if I re-change the date to the correct one afterwards (even if it's not on automatic), the phone won't shut down again...
Oh, okay I see what you mean
I read through http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014302
So you have to get the phone reset itself due to lack of internal power. So I just have to pull the battery out longer...
It should work by then..
it's quite impressive how many people say: "didn't work for me" and after a while come back saying: "ohhhh now that i pulled out mt battery for 15hrs it's worked"
the reason i said that is because, actually, there is no right number of hours that you must stay without the battery in, form me it worked with 5 hours, but for the most people it was not enought... so if you tried 10 hours, try 15 hours! =o)
the fact of you set your date to before march 27 and it shut down properly shows that the problem is the same! =oP

Battery Issue on my G2

Im having a sudden battery issue with my G2 that started about 2 weeks ago. Im currently running 2.3.4 and have been for a while now. When using my phone at near full charge, it randomly shuts down. When it restarts it states I have less than 2% power and the red "x" is at the top. A few seconds later it shuts down again as it if it has no power. The only way to correct this is to remove the battery completely and reboot. Once I reboot, the battery level goes back to a normal state or it will read somewhere near 50%. Ive also noticed the following: the battery will charge VERY slowly. Sometimes overnight it still won't say fully charged. I've done the following to try to fix:
1. I replaced the battery with a brand new one. Same issues right off the bat.
2. Wiped my phone and reinstalled.
3. Checked to see if any APP was draining the battery or causing the issue. None are!
I've seen this issue reported by other G2 users on the Tmobile Support forum and none of them have gotten any solid results. I've browsed this forum some and couldn't find it either, unless i missed it.
Any help is appreciated!

Power down and charge 'til it thinks it's fully charged (should be a green light). If it doesn't show a green light (like you said, it won't fully charge), just leave it charge for a while (overnight would be good). Boot into recovery, either by booting Android + rebooting recovery or by rebooting recovery through bootloader, go to advanced and select wipe battery stats... I think CWM 5 still has this option (don't know about 4EXT)
zeppelinrox has a battery calibrator script which is useful and can automatically delete battery stats once fully charged... I can't find it though. I'll attach / PM it if you need it.
BTW I'm not sure if this is the problem, it could be hardware related. I'd try it though, it might help.
If all else fails and you're sure it's not a hardware problem, I'd do a factory reset and /or reflash ROM.

Thanks for the tip. I had already deleted the battery stats bin file from the system and rebooted and received the same results (assume thats what your fix does). I've also reinstalled the rom and had no issues. Ive done searches and found that SEVERAL other people with the G2 had this issue. Kind of surprised it hasnt yet been addressed on this forum. Back in 2011 Tmobile was asking for people to volunteer some info in order to fix it. Apparently nothing was ever done and when i call in (several times), no one seems to know what im talking about even when i point them in the direction of their own forums. I'm really at a loss and don't feel like paying out the a$$ for a new phone when I know this is not something I did.

Battery problem

When I charge my battery and it is 100% my TAb S is switching off. I only see the battery picture showing 100%.
I did a hard reset and a clear install without results. Anyone an idea what happens?
Are you saying it switches off completely or the screen does?
It switches off completely, not only the screen.
I had this problem a couple of weeks ago,has soon has the tablet booted up it would switch off then I would have to boot up again, then it would switch of again.i had the battery changed by Samsung about a month ago it started switching off since that battery change, the new battery started discharging just like the first battery, the tablet is now back with Samsung,i am hoping to get it back in the next couple of days, lets hope they fix it this time.Longlegs

Phone turns off randomly with low battery warning

Hello everyone! Recently my Note II started to behave differently. Whenever I charged it completely, the battery abruptly fell to sometimes 60% sometimes 40% immediately followed by low battery warning indication and shutting down. I tried changing ROM and calibrating the battery again but nothing worked. Finally I replaced the battery with a new one and also clean flashed another ROM in a hope to see if the problem is gone or still there. But to my surprise the problem is still intact. Now, when I turn on the phone the battery is 90% and when I keep using it, it drains normally, but as soon as I put it idle it turns off randomly. When I turn the phone back on the battery is still at the same percentage level at which is turns off. I believe there is not an issue with the battery. Please help me what to do, I am using TWRP recovery that doesn't gives the battery stats wipe option too. Should I flash a new ROM again? I would greatly appreciate if someone please helps me in sorting this problem.
What I have already done!
1. Replaced the battery
2. Changed the ROM
3. Re-calibrated the battery
