I using EnviroROM[V4] Rom and cant change the complete language of the phone!
This are my steps I've done:
1. Changed language in SystemSettings > Language & input to English (UK)
2. Reboot and wiped cache
After step1 the main ui was in english but all apps and buttons in the app drawer (the screen with the apps) were russian like before.
after rebooting (step2) the apps-names were in english but the buttons were still in russian.
I found a thread about changing a few variables in the rom before flashing but I dont know how to do this.
Can anybody plz help!!!??
P.S.: I think this guy has the same issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42652574&postcount=154
Also it changes the App-Name language at some point ? I dont have any clue when or why...

I think you can actually install the font file and German input if there is any.
Myself, for example, is using RRE's 6.5 Rom now, and I installed Chinese font and input. Those stuff works perfect.
sorry but i think you didnt understand me, i have a cooked rom from this page and i want to know as i can switch the language file from these roms (wwe) to a german language file.

I've been trying to install Chinese Fonts and input but ended up hard reset my Tilt2 a few times. Seems all the methods that I've tried messed up the key board. I've tried installing the CE Star and that still messed up the key board.
If your method is stable, would you please point me to the right direction?
do you guys think that changing the language in the "input menu" in advanced config can be successfull in my case --> for example, i've got an AZERTY keyboard (french unbranded rhod100) and i install a wwe rom, so in, english, but i want to be able to write an A by pressing A instead of seeing it put in a Q... dunno if anybody will my idea right, bad english sowwy guys!!?
so the rom stays in english but the input has to correspond to what's printed on my hardware keyboard :S
My problem is that I am only able to use MCR, cause I can flash over the stock rom with it. The other ones wont let me, and therefore, I can't get the danish dictionary that I need. How can I pull the danish dictionary from the stock rom and flash it to any other rom? Using the locale application doesn't work, cause I can't get english interface and danish keyboard there. Help is appreciated greatly. Many people are having the same problem.
I also had this problem (wanted English UI with Dutch dictionary). I used the info found here to solve it: http://ostebaronen.dk/changing-htc_ime-language-to-danish/
The part you'll need:
- adb pull /data/data/com.htc.android.htcime/shared_prefs/com.htc.android.htcime_preferences.xml .
- Change the string to <string name=”keyboard_language”>8<⁄string> (8 for danish)
- adb push com.htc.android.htcime_preferences.xml /data/data/com.htc.android.htcime/shared_prefs/com.htc.android.htcime_preferences.xml
Beware, it'll still only show "English" in the dictionary language choicelist (although unchecked) but it'll actually use the Danish dictionary.
hi all... i m having this problem in both Oxygen and Cyanogen MOD. Gingerbread IME is not showing the numbers 3,6,7,8,9... and others are shown. for a try i installed the gingervillian rom couple of days ago and it showed every number correctly placed.
can you suggest me a good way to correct this problem.
thanks
Reflash the rom? No problems here, working as intended. You could try to uninstall it then install it or delete the apk before flashing then install it after.

Try this.
Go into Menu, Settings, Language & keyboard, Select language and pick the language you want. Exit and see if the numbers show up.
If not then also try Menu, Settings, Language & keyboard, Android keyboard, Input languages and add a couple different languages. If that fixes it then you can remove the unneeded languages.
I had the same problem after clean flash to Oxygen 2.1.2. The language selection was English but not UK or US. The above fixed it.
Hello everyone ,
I just flashed Runnymede AIO V1 , and configured my language to french (France) , and i can't find where to change the keyboard layout from Qwerty to Azerty .
Ok that's not a big deal , but there are always some friends who take my phone to send messages and stuff , so with Qwerty , they won't be able to do .
So did i missed the right setting or is there a zip to flash to recover the Azerty KB ?
Thanks in advance

change the language of your keyboard to french, on my phone it's AZERTY that way
normally i have dutch (Qwerty) but when i go to settings > lang & keyboard > touch input > international keyboard > choose french as one of the languages (with me also english and dutch)
then when you get the keyboard up, the second key on the bottom left is language buttom, click it and change to FR.. should turn into AZERTY
grtz
My wife just recently bought an LG G3. When she changed the GUI language to Japanese, she noticed that there are a lot of text inconsistencies as she goes through the menus. The phone isn't malfunctioning, but a lot of the characters are either incorrect or Chinese. Can anyone direct me to a file or something that will allow me to change this safely possibly without rooting her phone?
Not possible without rooting as you are not able to access system partition.
Maybe to use english?
Ok then I'm ready to root could you please post a link to the best instructions and ROM that I could use?
bump
I had the same problem, or close to it!!
After i upgade to lollipop i choose english as gui language and then after setting few settings on the startup wizard the language changed to arabic, and i went back to the beginning of the wizard and scroll up and down and set it to english again and it was fine till the wizard finished then i noticed LG smart world app is in arabic and the privacy agreement too.
