Hey frnds,
When I got my xperia zl, I found that the free case that Sony provides with every Indian retail unit didn't have an opening for the IR blaster(such a shame),, so every time I had to use the remote control app,I had to remove the case for it to work(tiresome). But.finally I've found a solution for this,by making a hole in the case(precisely in front of the IR blaster),,, all you need is a solder iron(at the right temperature,so that it can melt a hole in the plastic case) & a star head screw driver to smoothen out the hole...I did the same and voila...it worked,, no need to remove the case.everytime!!! I have attached pics of the case..Kindly keep in mind that I will not be responsible for any damages whatsoever,,do at your own risk and will.

I just kicked that case to dustbin because of that problem and fact that it looks ugly
Btw i can not operate my videocon d2h STB with IR remote app because it isnt in list.
Can you help in that?

Yes,it isn't listed in the app because it's a regional brand,my Tata sky works brilliantly with the app (because sky is a global brand),,but you can always try making the app learn your remote control signals(Sony has given a nice tutorial regarding that in the app itself)..also search whether the set top boxes that videocon provides are imported from some global manufacturing brand(like Tata & sky collaboration), which will increase
your chances for it to work..

Read thing does not work at all.. it either force closes or just does nothing. i can see infrared lighting but no use

Even I tried the learning function of the app and it didn't work...the IR blaster detects the signal(a relief),, so I think it's a problem with the app itself not with the hardware..so keep patience and hope that Sony pushes an update to fix this issue

This Menu button only appears, if phone doesn't have hardware Menu button.
If you use on-screen buttons, which doesn't have menu button either, then that button appears in some apps.

It has this button too. I want to know how to make this button apear.
As I said, that Menu button appears if phone doesn't have own Menu key (enabled).

But that ROM don't have any on screen button, and the hard-ware Menu key is still working.

I'm not sure, but mine seemed to turn up when I flashed AeonWorld's Xperia S Lockscreen. It does however, turn up in every app, like the web browser or youtube. The Links below:

This is my first post on XDA(excluding a copy of this in the general forum by mistake lol) and what a way to start, just bought a Galaxy Note 2 N7100 White today(although I would've loved the grey one but got a good price on this so yeh). Got to say, so far I love the phone and apart from the size, I have no gripes with it. I'm thinking that if I am struggling a little bit right now and it is without a cover, how would it be with a cover on? I guess I'll use it for a few days and see. Galaxy S3 feels tiny in the hand now lol(never thought I'd say that). I have a couple of questions and would be glad if someone could answer them.*Does anyone know how to make one app full screen when using the multiwindow feature? Also, how to swap apps? I saw a video online which had two buttons next to the divider line but there aren't any buttons showing up on mine. I have an o2 variant if that is any help.Am i able to flash a stock rom(without o2 splash screen and bloatware) without rooting? Would this unlock the device also?Thanks

you can try holding your back button, the multiscreen side bar should shows. If its not, you can try to update you phone via software update in your phone.

Yes I understand and that is what I am doing but no buttons showing up. I can't think of anything that is causing this. There are no updates or maybe if I flash a stock ROM onto it rather than the o2 one, it might work? What do you think? Also will it improve the performance of the phone?

I set this up yesterday before I left for work and had maybe 10-20 steps from just wondering around getting ready for work. When I got to work I noticed that 10-20 jumped up to around 1,300 steps. Thinking it was from driving to work I reset it and walked from building to building and around the office. For what walking I did I had maybe 500 before it was time to leave work. I got home and I had about 1,800 steps. I reset it and let the phone sit till I left last night. When I got home I noticed it had a lot more steps than it should. Seems like its just tracking movement and counting x number of feet and y number of steps. I went in today to clear everything from the app so it's like I have never used it, I'd like a fresh start for when I do use it again.
Now to the question, is their a way to stop it from tracking me? Unless I have overlooked it I'm not seeing anything. I tried to shutoff location based services however it still keeps track of the number of steps. I just want to shut it off for when I'm in a car with out having to shut my phone off or put it in airplane mode.
It uses the accelerometer to know how many steps you are doing, its not using your location.
Actually, it appears there are several sensors working together to capture this data, though I'm sure the accelerometer plays it's part.
I've experienced the same thing though, so I'm guessing the sensors could use a firmware tweak - perhaps in a future update they will refine them more?

Thanks, I did mean accelerometer very loosely just to distinguish it from location based services, but its always nice to see the full list of sensors.

When I had it running I didn't notice an issue. However I did shutoff GPS.

My latest build is Forza Watch Face, an Android Wear customizable watch face. With a dark carbon fiber background and big, visible indicators it is easy to read and sporty looking.
It has in app billing to unlock the PLUS version but the watch is free to download and use with basic settings.

Ok so I tried to get the Forza Watch Face from the playstore and it keeps giving me an authentication error stating that I need to sign into my account, however I am able to purchase and download any other app just fine. This is the only app giving me that error. Any ideas why it might be giving that error?

Is weird because in the developer console it shows that I have downloads, so for some people is working.
Are you on KitKat or Lollipop? Do you have multiple accounts on the phone?

It's working for me.
You have to press got it while the screen is black when the incompatible phone message appears.
Aswell as the Daydream APK don't forget you need Google VR Services.
I have, but it kicks me back to the download VR apps screen. I really wanted to use the remote with it also

That happens to me also. You have to press "got it" on the screen within about 2 seconds.

That happened to me as well but I accidentally discovered a trick: when you get the "incompatible phone" message don't press "got it". Instead, press the menu/multitasking button, go back to the app and then press "got it". It worked for me and the app stays open. Unfortunately, I do not have a controller to connect neither a second smartphone to use an emulator: https://developers.google.com/vr/daydream/controller-emulator.
Try it out and let me know as I am curious of compatibility after a controller is connected.
If needed:
app version: 1.2.170117003 (search google daydream apk )
Google VR Services version: 1.1.141111507
