[Q] How to root Bell Mobility (Canada) Samsung Galaxy Ace II x(GTS7560UWB) - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I used to root android phones with Odin, with original stock ROM; just wondering if there's a place where I can download the stock ROM for my phone so I can have it rooted in order to get rid of all those unwanted apps from carrier.
The exact model is Samsung Galaxy Ace II x from Bell Mobility(Canada); NOT virgin mobile
from the About device, it says GT-S7560M is the model number, on the box, it says GTS7560UWB; 4.0.4; baseband version S7560MVLALJ7; Kernel sersion 3.0.8-1149290, [email protected] #1, Wed Oct 24 19:19:13 KST 2012; Build number IMM76I.S7560MVLALJ7
Thank you very much!

Well I got it rooted, even though I used the tools provided and they caused more issues & problems thanks to the instructions provided. I couldn't find an answer to a few questions I have tho, so I'll ask as I go along. I'll also provide a complete & detailed account of which steps I took, the files I used (with live download & SamMobile links. I'm gonna have my 10 year old give my instructions a try & let him do it for me.This way I will definitely know that it's easy to understand & follow for anyone. Look for it here later today.

Sprint, Verizon, etc. are carriers (the company you pay for internet, etc.). If you've nck ever heard o these, you probably don't live int the U.S. GSM is a network standard, though. You probably have GSM if you live in Europe or in Asia.
As to the rooting question, I will answer your question briefly, but please search or just click one of the first threads in the development section, they tell you what you need.
Yes, you can root your phone, Samsung doesn't try to prevent it (you loose your warranty, though). If you want to know how, do what I advised please.

[Q] s3 update confusion

I turned my phone on yestetday lunchtime (4/7/2013) and once it had booted I had an onscreen message sayong that an update had download and was ready to install. I chose the "later" option, went to settings>about device>software update, and it said the same thing. I installed it, thinking it might be JB 4.2.2, but once it had installed there was nothing different about my phone and it is still running 4.1.2. When ever I search for it I keep getting french and greek websites, the fact that I cant find an english site or explanation is rather unnerving.
I am running an un rooted S3, from U.K t-mobile.

I hope I have included all needed info. If anyone has an idea of what this is I would be extremelu grateful.
Many thanks.
Sounds like you simply got the latest official update for your phone/carrier. They are rolled out in waves, usually by location.
And just fyi, you are in the wrong forum. You have an international GS3. This is only for the US T999 variants. Aside from what I just told you, you probably won't be able to get much more info from here.
And definitely DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING you find here! Itll brick your phone! (Not yelling at you, just emphasizing the importance).
Sorry I don't know more for you, but good luck with it!

Hello, from the look of your baseband, it seems like you have the international model (I9300). I would suggest you asking about it in the Q&A over there instead, since they would be more familiar with the phone and services associated with your phone.

Apologies, i thought this was for the i9300 version, i will repost in the correct thread.
Thanks for the replies

[Q] Please Help a Noob out

Hi,
I attempted to put a stock rom back on the phone and then re-root.
I found a link for the stock rom whick matched my Build number and using ODIN it successfully installed.
Main issue I had previous was that I could not load into the Android recovery screen which I now can do.
When the phone booted up I was very surprised to see a "Orange mobile" splash screen and also the addition of loads of Orange Apps? Which I've now disabled. Could be A French ROM?
How can I get a Stock rom without any Mobile operator Bloatware and get rid of that Splash screen?
I don't understand most of the details related to my model number but it appears they have changed slightly.
Here's the list;
Model no. GT-N7100
Android version 4.1.2
Baseband version N7100BVDMF2
Kernel version 3.031-107214 [email protected]#1
SMP PREEMPT Sat Jun1 12.22.20 KST 2013
Build number JZ054K.N7100XXDMF1
I have also downloaded the Samsung galaxy note2 toolkit but cannot find my model numbers as it's not shown within the ranges.
Build numbers available between DMA3 - DMC1. does that make a difference.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
If you want an unbranded stock Rom for your region, go to sammobile.com and grab the latest firmware for the n7100, region code united kingdom btu. The btu bit denotes its unbranded and for the UK.

Thanks, I found it virtually straight away after creating my post last night.(as they say ,the informations out there, you just gotta know where to look!).I chose that one(French rom) on Sammobile as the build numbers where the same.! should of researched first
Thanks for the link.
I've just installed the stock ROM and all went well.
One issue or may not be is that when i go to About Device-Software update-check for updates and press nothin happens? Isn't it suppose to say Your device is already upto date?
Is there any links for a stable and most up to date version of Twrp recovery?
So Now i will try re-rooting again. I think I am going to try Twrp recovery after looking at a few forums.
Also I have seen people tap the Android version button(in About device) and the Jelly Bean wallpaper comes up but in my about device its all greyed out?
Anyway thanks again for the Help it was Greatly appreciated.
Thanks

AT&T S3 IMEI fix - stuck on Edge
Hello,
I have a Galaxy S3 on AT&T. It is stuck on the Edge network.
I purchased the phone on eBay as a Christmas gift, and it is rooted and unlocked.
I went to the AT&T store to get a new sim. Even with the new sim, it is stuck on Edge.
I have checked the IMEI in the settings, and it matches the one behind the battery - (I can PM my IMEI if someone can help with this problem).
The device is originally for AT&T, with the following details:
Android ver: 4.3;
Baseband ver: I747UCUEMJB;
Kernel ver: 3.0.31-2024954, [email protected] #1, Thu Oct 31 01:05:53 KST 2013;
Build num: JSS15J.I747UCUEMJB;
Looking for an app to repair/fix this issue.
Thank you for your time and assistance.
Sincerely,
bluegrassbandit

Hello Everyone!

I actually managed to fix the S3.
