Hey guys i got a phone that wont boot up, the inital issue was there was no baseband, so i tired to flash via ODIN the stock image onto the phone, it fails at the modem part. I've looked through a few threads and i think the PIT file might help me; but i cannot for the life of me find the pit file. Does anyone have the Note 2 pit file they can share?
thanks

the phone does not boot, and i do not have root. I have not tried flashing the modem through recovery as i dont have a custom recovery on there or a modem.zip
Update - so i was able to get the phone to boot up, installed root and TWRP, installed the note 2 modem but still baseband unknown. From i can understand so far is that its a Tmobile note2, my idiot friend tried to flash the n7100 SW on it, now its showing unknown baseband/IMEI. Is there a fix for this?

someone has a thread with all modems
What version of ODIN were you using? Some earlier versions have issues w/ the modem part of newer phones... just a thought.

How is that going to help to get an imei number back? Thats a link to a uvalj1 modem.
The man is trying to get his imei number back. And we all just about know from intuition that he doesnt have a backup. Id send him to the galaxy s3 thread by peoplearmy that details method that DOES work on our phone using nv reader to back up or inject an imei number into the system.
I just dont have the link and cant find it
But flashing modems isnt going to do nothin at all.
OP GO TO THE GALAXY S3 FORUMS FOR TMOBILE find and download those tools. Follow the instructions PROVIDED there and try to INJECT an imei into your phone since im pretty certain that you dont have a backup. Stop following links and flashing random files from people that know even less than you about fixing the problem.
Your taking art advice from the blind.

Hi,
My phone is samsung galaxy note 2 N7100
I bricked my phone when rooting with odin. And now I can only enter the download model, any other is not available. I am not really sure how bad this situation is and I would like to try this method firs (thttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2154890). However, I cannot download the recovery package/rom required by that method, link provided has gone.
So if anyone know where I can find this recovery package/rom (a zip including different file like PIT, CSC, MODEM, BOOTLOADER, CODE... ) for my N7100?
Or is there other ways to get my phone back?
I am really desperate now and any thoughts will be appreciated!
Thanks

Did you flash 4.1.2 ? or greater? Try Samsung galaxy note 2 kit.. If you are able to enter the download mode, thats good.. you can flash using Odin or Heimdall. There are many rooted roms that will get you through. Dr Ketans has solutions. Try loading a stock rom from SAmmobile
Let me search for few links and post it from XDA devs

1 Pre-Rooted Stock ROMs Samsung Latest Sammy NA dr.ketan
2 N7100 Odin STOCK leaked 4.3 version (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466405)
Neither can get me through, seconds after start of flashing, it fails.

Cool.. Thats nice
Hello, I used to be rooted with custom ROMs ect but went back to stock I317ATTALJ2 so I can give the phone to my daughter. Well everything went smooth until an update from AT&T came through and she ran it when the battery was at 21% but I'm not sure it that matter but didn't help in matters... Anyhow it ran the upgrade and on reboot it stayed on the Galaxy Note II screen and wont do anything but sit there. I let it sit for a long time before pulling the battery and booting but it goes to same screen and same thing. I can not get into recovery (Volume Up, Home, Pwr) but I can go into download mode. With the battery being so low I read that it charges while in download mode so for the remainder of the day I put the phone in download mode and plugged into charger.
Suggestions?
After you get it charged up some and you're in download mode. Just Odin back to stock Att firmware should fix the problem hopefully...
You can find the stock firmware here>> http://bit.ly/1HNVFVJ
Guess the phone didn't like that update ?.

Hopefully everything works out next time around.
Another thing you could try is flashing which ever recovery you previously had installed. Last time I was having issues with something similar, after re flashing my recovery everything started working again. Just just a thought that might work.

Yes you can flash a custom recovery from Odin. You just have to use the (Twrp) tar file found here>>>
http://bit.ly/1y0Tyg7
Find your device model and download the tar. And make sure you're downloading the correct file for your device ok!
I to use Twrp and luv it.?
OK, well its not looking good....
1) Flashed the stock firmware suggested...... Still get same results!
2) Flashed TWRP through ODIN and it made it to the same screen and froze. Did a battery pull and button combo and it wont go into recovery.
Is there a application that will force your phone into recovery and download modes? I remember back when I messed with the captivate there was a application someone built that did such a thing.
Any suggestions?

Not sure you were on the newer 4.4.2 bootloader or not. If it was on a newer bootloader then you won't be able to downgrade.. This might help you get the phone working again since you just flashed the original firmware.

My Samsung note 2 won't move from the boot screen. It does boot into recovery when I press the buttons but it won't mount any files. I have posted a screenshot of the errors I am getting. Can someone please advise on what I should do?

I have almost a same situation here with my brothers phone. I don't know why, but every time he manages to brick it like that. When booting into recovery from rom (power menu), it crashes the phone and it gets in a bootloop trying to get into the recovery.
What I did:
- Reflash recovery through odin (odin succes, phone fail)
- Reflash recovery through odin and erase nand (same...)
The only fix I found was to flash the stock rom and nand erase through odin, then flash the recovery (twrp 2.8.6.0), erase almost everything (sys, data, cache) and flash custom rom.
Looking at your pic, after nand write it fails, it could be that your nand chip is dead, and if it is like that, move to an other phone, it isn't worth to get a new mobo for your phone, those things cost more than 100 euro and a great new phone would get about 250 from you (like that asus zenfone, I think that is the one you should aim for if you want mid class to high class phones)

The firmware you trying to flash xxalj3 (saw at screenshot) is very old 4.1.1 with sds bug also. Probably your phone has newer bootloader and 4 this you can't flash it, download latest firmware from Sammy and try again.

IMEI is the same as the one on the phone. I believe I must have installed the wrong ROM. I installed the N7100XXUFNL1 one which said Pakistan but then now that I checked it again, I found out it was for Nigeria, UAE, etc (which share the same CSC). Now I am downloading the N7100XXUFND4 one. Hope it makes a difference. I did backup my IMEI etc incase there is an issue.

Samsung had made efs partition update when released 4.3 if I remember well. This update was making by the kernel when was flashing the fw was updating the efs too. If you haven't flash original firmware via odin 4.3 or later probably your efs is not updated. Try to flash original fw via odin, I think it will work.

I recently rooted my I9195 successfully. i then flashed a custom kernel i found here on the forum (kernel v1 or sth like that) then my phone wouldn go past the boot white logo screen. i then tried flashing other kernels but they were apparently wrong as some features of my phone didnt work. i finally found the right firmware for my phone and tried to flash it with odin but it failed and now my phone only shows this message where it says that the firmware update failed and i have to use kies in recovery mode.
so i use kies and try the install firmware thing that asks you to put in your model and serial number. i do that and it says the device doesnt support initialisation. tried on another computer and it said that serial number was invalid.. i was very careful when typing it etc.
help.. what do i do?
btw last firmware i had was 4.4.2

I think you should put original back and start over and read forum more howto.
You use ODIN to flash custom rom, why? ODIN is for original rom. With custom rom need use TWRP or other recovery boot.

I used ODIN for past phones to flash custom kernels and it worked fine. i said i flashed someone that isnt supposed to be supported. i have no idea. i am not an expert and i thought someone can provide with a fast fix since there will surely be someone to have experienced this issue.
anyone else?
bump! please help.. i dont have another phone and I need to get this fixed asap!
You don't need root phone before new kernel or custom rom. And i believe you use wrong files for that and now phone wont boot.
Start over with original ROM. With that you can test is your phone ok. Then use ODIN for recovery kernel and custom rom. Also check this:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2678420

How about download-mode? Never seen ODIN-mode myself, so cannot understand what is going on there....
With download- mode i do all things with ODIN if need...

that works, and it says downloading like normally when you try to flash something with odin, but it fails and gives me this error again: sw rev check fail: fused 2 > binarz 1
the rom im trying to flash is the DBT one in germany.
I am choosing AP btw, and not the other flash options.

i flashed one of those roms and i got my phone to boot. i have no wifi. i guess it was the last rom i flashed which was the wrong one.
i now tried the one which is supposed to be the correct rom but i land on the same error again. can someone help me find the correct stock rom?
here are the current device info. it seems that there is no official 4.4.2 rom for my phone. so i ****ed up lol.
Your phone has official 4.4.2 Rom and you are currently using it. If you have Wi-Fi issues, your can try to flash custom kernel (Silviu, alexax)

But why you use F.Reset Time -option? Clear that and try again.

i tried rebooting the phone but it still is as slow as before. it peaks on 27mbit when i start the speedtest but then drops down to 19 or sth..
actually the download speed seems to be the problem. not the upload. now i forgot the network and connected again and its even slower
