[HELP] [MOD] Transparent OVERLAY notification bar? - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Hi guys,
I am looking for a way to mod my i9100 S2, running on cm10.1, by making the notification bar transparent (I have seen methods of this) BUT also overlaying the applications, such that the applications run like they're on full screen mode but the notification icons (no black bar) are overlaying apps. Currently, I am using THIS guide to hide the bar altogether so that I can have a full screen experience with a functioning notification/quick settings but I would rather if I can see the icons etc without the black bar and loss of screen available to apps.
A rough idea of what I want, I can use Photoshop to create a better example if needed:
What stock is like:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
What I am trying to get:
(The yellow/orange is the space taken by an application)
Hope you liked my art and, probably more importantly, understand what I am after.
All help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Andriod market
Hi,
We are a Web Hosting company in Iran and we want to run an "Android APP Store".
Do you (does anybody know) know good open source software so we can customize it for our local market?
Or do you know a company that sells these services (or software)?

Unrelated comment is unrelated. Seems like my request is nothing short of new, but can someone give me a hand?

[Q] [N2E] A lot of text is missing in the non-B&N UI

Hi Nook developers,
I rooted my Nook STR using Touchnooter and almost everything works fine (finally Sudoku on my Nook! ) but one thing bothers me.
In some Apps and System settings etc. the text of some things is just missing.
Examples include the market (I can search it fine with Search Market) where I can't see the application details, the ADW.Launcher settings (I can see the icons but not the text) and the calendar.
I thought there is some color the nook wrongly translates to white, but as it turns out...

...DDMS sees it as white too.
Is this some known glitch I somehow haven't read about, or am I the only one experiencing this?
I have some of those, only on menus (but not on the 2nd page menus). Haven't heard of something to improve this... Most menus are try-and-error...
it is very annoying, I have same problem, it would be nice if someone could answer
same problem here, lots of problems with menus in all programs. Any fix would be great!
Maybe a modification of the theme would fix it ...
If someone is able to do it, it could be useful
+1. I don't know that I have it on all the screens you show, but it is on a lot of mine as well. Running TouchNooter 2.1.31 over Nook 1.1.0.
Does anyone know where to go/what tools to use to modify the theme?
I also have a problem with a lot of popup text (e.g., in the XKCD browser, "Hint" function) being invisible. See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24486593

Circular Battery Stat - No Root Needed - Notification

So back in October of 2010, some guy named Irkan made the version for a black notification bar and I made the version for the white notification bar. Here they are, they work great in ICS. Just download and install like a normal apk.

Can you make 1 with stock battery icons for Android Revolution 2.1.2? LTE version?
no only because i don't have time. feel free to break into the apk and replace the icons though.
if you search for my posts on androidforums.com you'll find some links to big battery icons that are ICS type but probably lower resolution. might work.
Is this for the notification bar?
If so, does it replace the stock battery icon, or add an additional one?
Wow nice!!! But would you please explain what's the difference between two files? I'm running everything stock (locked bootloader), which one should I use?
If later one we decided to go back to the original, will simply uninstall this app work?
It adds an additional one. Just tried it. Would be nice if it was a replacement, which I guess would require root at the very least.

Advice on Android app design needed!

Hi,
We’re designing our first Android app.
It’s a game app, which works like this: the home screen (the one in the mockup) has the person’s avatar and options like settings. There are certain tasks in the activity screen. For example, “Help parents with cooking.” When this is done, you can check it off in the activity screen. The achievements screen has a history of all previous achievements, details, etc.
The mockup is attached.
My concern is about the bottom bar. I added the bottom bar, to be a constant on all screens, because it makes intuitive sense for navigation—you don’t have to navigate back to the home screen everytime you need to go from say, achievements to activity screen. I’ve read a lot of stuff that says this is bad practice for Android, and to use action bars instead. But this is a kids’ app, and I’d like to keep the icons big, bold, distinctive and also in line with the general feel of the app.
Is what I have in the pic even a bottom bar? How else should I do things?
From the app described i think you need first swith to a bit neutral color becouse of the avatar possibility i think , also revisionate a bit the layout becouse you say is a game becouse is game need to add a bit of details ,
so i ve done a proto of what i say

Strange new icon backgrounds?

After updating to Android 7.0 Nougat on my G5 (LG LS992) all my app icons changed. See attached picture for examples. The LG apps that come installed by default got simple, unique, all white backgrounds(the phone, contacts, and messenger icons at the bottom). User installed apps get one of seven new, all white backgrounds. I place one of each background type on example picture. Some of the backgrounds seem to be in the shape of a letter. There is no discernable pattern to what apps get what backgrounds and I can't find any information about these changes anywhere, no one else seems to be talking about it. Is anyone else seeing this?

I had that same problem and it was driving me nuts because it actually showed those icon labels behind the custom icon pack I was using. I was able to change it by changing the group of icons I wanted to use. I think I did it in Nova Launcher's settings. So if you're using a 3rd party home screen, check to see if you can change it there to Marshmallow's icons, or the system default or something.

Question Does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of the huge space that is taken up by the clock when fully extending the notification panel?

I want to get rid of the huge space when fully extending the notification panel, so when I pull it all the way down, the brightness bar is around the center of the screen, does anyone know a way to do this, with or without root.

Try using Galaxy Goodlock family of apps,
Quickstar. See if it can hide it for you...
Try notifications settings, try searching for "clock" in settings.
Quickstar hides the clock on my homescreen page, they may have added more options for Android 11/12.
On my N10+'s Android 9/10...
I will try that. Thank you.

Click to collapse
That looks horrible. Is that Android 12?
13 will likely be worse.
On 9/10 it uses the space much better...
This was modified using Quickstar for the custom colors.
If you want to quickly access brightness control you can use One Handed Operation plus, Quicktools to do so.
Sadly there was no option for this, it seems to be essentially color type changes you can make
