[Q] Apps from Play store isn't getting downloaded - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

I've just up upgraded my Sony xperia s to android 4.1.2 and Google Play now doesn't allow me to download or update any app/game. The progress bar keeps spinning forever.
I installed few apps today and did my OS update from ICS to JB. I am not sure what the exact problem is.

Try wiping Play Store data.

The exact problem z that the playstore z updating

nothing to do with your os
relax it is a temporary issue..you OS has nothing to do with it..try after some time. Also check if your internet is working fine.

Well it's getting difficult now... I am using 2G network and i could easily install apps before an OS update. after JB update (even if it has nothing to do with problem ) apps are not getting downloaded using 2G network.
Now i can install apps from wifi but 2G isn't downloading any app of even 100KB....It's in a loop forever.. says''downloading but no progress bar is shown.
has anyone experienced such issue?

Most JB users, including me, are having incredibly slow speeds with 2G. That is one of the problems... Hopefully a new baseband or update will fix that.

I was curious about how exactly I wipe out the Play store data. I have checked settings >> Apps>>running apps
where exactly I can find an option to remove data?

If i go to play.google.com and push the app or update from the web page it installs fine. If i initiate it from the device itself i get that error.

Same problem with me on my E3D
My app store for a week now has not worked and kept telling me that there was a 'server error' I wiped my data for my play store and google services and rebooted my device and it signed me in. I got excited untill when I tried to update my apps or downloiad one it came up with this.
A fix would be appreciated.
it's working for me now too!
Works for me now also quick fix by google

after updating to jelly bean 4.2 JOP40C on nexus 4 about 2 hours ago, i started seeing this issue.
tried uninstalling pay store updates, clearing play store cache, clearing play store data. nothing worked.
Is it just me or does downloading apps seem slower? My internet speed is the same as before :/

Try removing your Google play acc, restart phone, and rentering your Google play acc.
I typed this by hand.

No connection for Google apps

Using LiquidSmooth ROM for about a week, suddenly my Play store doesn't work
It says "No connection" no matter what [I'm using Wi-Fi and can use web browsing and WhatsApp so its definitely not a connection problem]
Edit:
Its not just Google play, it's all Google's apps [Except for google maps, which was downloaded manually], and my Wifi signal is gray
I looked it up and the only fixes I came up for this issue is having the device set to the wrong date, but its not the issue here, it just has the same symptoms
Can anyone help? :|
Go into apps and try clearing data etc. Might work. Normally does lol

I'm also having this issue with a Motorola Defy (CM7.2 latest stable). Couldn't fix it yet. Anyone have a solution other than the date/time settings? (Those didn't work for me either)

Google play issues. Missing apps...

Hi all
Having an issue that's been developing over the course of 2 days ... I've slowly been losing apps in Google play... I normally have 70 apps showing as installed.
Earlier today I had low 60s... Now I'm sitting at 39...
I have wiped cache, dalvik etc. Fixed permissions. Cleared app data. Even tried forcing them in titanium.
Idk what else to do here... As a result I'm not getting updates to my apps...
Anyone have any ideas?

That's super strange. What ROM are you using? Have you messed with any system files and/or flashed anything with an "alpha" tag on it?
PA latest 2.99
Franco test kernel r47
Other then that I don't mess with system files...
Actually. I think I know what it is... I changed the DPI etc on Google play... I wonder if that did it...
Give me a bit to test

OK well resetting the DPI etc did nothing...

I don't know what the source of your problem is, but my advice would be to try a new ROM (or a fresh install of the same one - latest version if possible). And while you're at it try using these optimized gapps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012857
I've never had a problem with apps missing, could it be malware?
Change play store and Google play services to standard DPI in paranoid settings, then wipe the data and cache for those apps then reboot once or twice and all apps will be back

I think he meant, that you should wipe the play store and the play services and not all your other apps. Besides did you try Market doctor that comes with Titanium backup?
Under apps tab in paranoid preferences, change only play store app and play services app to the default DPI, then wipe they're data and reboot
Can you see apps as downloadable via pc login to store? If you can then you have a problem with your store app in device. Otherwise it may be some country/carrier restriction. ie, I couldn't install maps and navigation apps from store cause device isn't officially launched in my country yet. PA gapps solved my problem with apps

[Q] Package File is Invalid

Has anyone else had a problem with updating or downloading apps? I've tried everything. I've called both Google Play Support and AT&T. I've restarted my router and modem, factory reset my phone, re-flashed the UCAMA4 ROM and updated to the latest UCAMC3 and it still happens. Most notably with Google apps like Chrome, Maps, Play Music, YouTube, Google Plus and Hangouts.
Been having the same issue all day.

I'm not a programmer, net tech background, but you guys have the latest issues posting on the web. I've been having the same issues all day, spoke with Google and ran their pre-programmed solutions. I'm just trying to do a reset & rebuild, all other apps seemed to install all right. Originally had issues with updating Chrome & Samsung Link, but in the past hr these 2 have been updated successfully. Only remaining issue is trying to install Twitter, still getting the same error.
Google issues all day myself. ..
And being linked to my home and work computers has made the problem even worse as I'm 4 states away from home. .
But I guess it's okay. .
At least I can post. ..g

I have 5 phones on my account and 4 (including the phone I personally use) of them, that I know of, are getting this message when trying to update apps or install apps. This includes certain Google apps, the AT&T apps and Facebook Messenger. I'm guessing this is going to turn into a widespread issue. I honestly think anyone and everyone who are having should call the Google Play Support number to report this error. Maybe then they fast track a fix once the programmers are notified of the error.
I said this once I'll say it again.. Try and update ur apps from a cellular network.. Not wifi......

Tried that. It works temporarily.
From my perspective, I think this error is linked to Android Device Manager. I haven't received the update yet, but started receiving this message on Monday. That is about the same time Android Device Manager started rolling out.
Things I tried...
Just trying to help figure out what is up so...
I have cleared cache on the google services, rolled back the settings update (gms.apk - removed the device manager), updated to the latest app store (4.3.10 - was on older version). I tried updating after each, no luck.
I can still download other apps, just not the google beta.
And if it matters, I am running Slim/ Devil with TBO apps...
EDIT: Working now...didn't do anything.
Wish I had seen this thread before I wiped my phone 18 times today. O well. Only Facebook is giving me this issue now.

The least they could do is allow manual update capabilities for the play services apk...
Try un installing the latest update from within your application drawer. .then allow Google services to update again. .
This issue is gone for me after doing so...g

Try deleting the app cache first. Then, delete the Google account and add it back. That should fix it for you.
Others have reported that this method doesn't fix their problems, but it did for me.
I have deleted the Dalvik Cache in the recovery mode as well, FYI.

[Help] [XS] Apps updating via mobile data when set to do it by Wi-Fi

Hello!
My Playstore is configured to update apps only when connected to an Wi-Fi network. But today something strange happened: it started updating Google Maps and Twitter when I was on mobile data. And it was incredibly fast
I checked the settings and they were still showing to update only when on Wi-Fi, so I'm pretty sure something shady is going on here.
Does anyone have an idea of what happened?
I'm on stock ROM JB 4.1.2, 6.2.B.1.96, rooted, LB.
Thanks!
Clear cache/reboot phone. It happens sometimes.

I did that right after it happened, lol. I'll keep an eye on it when there are more apps to be updated.
Thanks!
Seems it is fixed after clearing cache. New updates are available today and they didn't update while on mobile data. Great!
