Hey Guys,
This is a port from an Xperia X8 MIUI Port, which is EXTREMELY buggy, if you are not very experienced in flashing then i urge you not to flash this ROM. I am not responsible if you brick your phone when flashing this ROM, so don't complain to me if you do
Okay the current release's are very very very buggy , we have only just managed to get adb working in the last hour. If you are interested in helping to develop this rom then feel free to download it. If you are looking for a fully functioning rom then they're are plenty others throughout the forum not here
Link to Current ROM ( really not ready for anything atm, unless you want to help dev, don't bother flashing )
http://www.mediafire.com/?reco2eej12a1w Use current version stated in OP. (Build0007 up tonight.. hopefully)
Installation.
1. Wipe of all (even if coming from previous installation)
2. Select Hero-MIUI_Alpha..
3. Flash
4. Wait, may take a while due to re-build of dalvik.

I just want to say good on you for giving this a go. It's nice to see some new people having a go at developing. So good luck!
I have adb working.. will post a logcat within 10 minutes
EDIT:
Here is the logcat of the boot.
http://pastebin.com/MZFgwhUX
Rom is booting!
Use alpha 003 then follow this steps:
in the folder "data" make a folder called "local"
now copy "bootanimation.zip" from "/system/media/" to "/data/local"
it should boot now it doesn't work, only shows the setup guide, after that it fc's on the launcher.
logcat:

i love you <3
if there's any way any of us users can help you, please do not hesitate to ask for anything!

what recovery are you using?, if you don't resign the file, it wont work with amon_Ra. We will we be working on a new build today (although it may not be released today) which you wont need to go through these steps to use. Can i also suggest if you're new to this that you flash another rom, as this one is completely unusable and is only meant to show the communitt the stage we are at.
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
JieeHD - The apk's image-files might be mdpi, but they are all located in hdpi-folders, it could be a reason for fc'ing always.. if you install launcherpro through adb you can use that as launcher until other stuff is fixed.. Phone.apk never launches as it is now
EDIT: FC's seems more serious than that...
The problem with the current framework-res and mot-framework-res is that they are not miui , they are from a different rom. Using the original framework the rom will just not boot, which is why the apps f/c, as they are dependent on the miui framework.

So what you have used are CM-framework-files?
And which version of Android is it?

In the next build (which is being compiled atm) , the framework's are miui ones, check changelog
Android OS: 2.2.1
Hmm.. Are you sure that you have enabled /data/app-functionality in the latest (0004)?
I couldn't boot, and the logcat said that /data/local/bootanimation.zip wasn't found, when I looked through the updater-script I didn't find the command for extracting the data-folder to the data-partition?
i think you may be right because i switched scripts from a cm6 rom which stores the boot anim in system/media
Also, I'm wondering why the bootanimation.zip can't be in that location.. In the same logcat as before it logged that it was searching both in the /data/local- and in the /system/media-folders..

Well.. I just mean in the previous version? Was it because of the other framework-files?
And should there be a ramdisk.tar-file in the /system/bin-directory?

I think the original update-script looked in data/local and then when we switched scripts it looked in both places, for some reason lol
The ramdisk-tar was in the original rom, so i updated it with our .rc files and left it, it shouldn't cause any problems..
Can you give us a quick guide as to whats working and whats not? Thanks

I couldn't get the 0004 to boot, but in 0003, you could run through the setup, and then start over
Ok so, Semi new to the rooting, romming, ciustomizing my epic game. MY epic has only been rooted and romed for just over a month and half. Currently Im running ERA Revolted with Drockstar Clean kernel ec05, Nebula roms boot up animation, regina launcher, and CWM 3.1 purple. I have a couple of questions. 1 trying to add sound to the nebula boot up, tired through es explorer and sound changer to no success. 2. I find that there are several things in each rom ive tried that I would like to tweak like currently the notification bar in ERA's revolted. Any pimp expert advice out there? would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
What do you want to do with the notification bar? And for the power on sound I think theres a file in /etc/ named "PowerOn.wav". You should be able to change that
noobness
Well with the pulldown bar im looking rather agressivly for something that is space themed. I have this whole space thing gong on. As for the sound I have gone and tried that with es file explorer in writable mode cutting the track I want then posting it in that very same folder while renaming it and deleating the existing powerOn.wav that has never worked anyways LOL . Should I try another Rom as my base? and thanks for the reply.
Just to be sure, the track you trimming and renaming is a wav file, right? Its not just a renamed mp3 or whatever? And if you know how to decompile an apk... you should just be able to edit the png's in the file. You can search for a guide (or if your really lazy) find a kitchen to do it for you.
Awesoem man thanks alot. I am a douche LOL ive been renaming an mp3. kind of going of of the example left in my folders from the sound changer app. Thanks for the tips deffinatly appreciatie it.
lol...yeah I think you need to convert it first. Its like putting a square block in a round hole...yes there both shapes but there still very different.
Lawlz, fo sho.

Notification bar icons are found inside framework-res.apk and the pulldown menu is twframework-res.apk.
I have changed the battery symbol, soft keys, and keyboard all using different flashable zip files. I modified one to include the battery symbols and soft keys and have a seperate one for the keyboard. My first question is the file I use has the systemui.apk in it is there a way to incorporate the keyboard in the file as well so I can flash one zip to get all my custom settings? Second question is im debating going from AOKP M3 to Build 23 being the flashable zip is structured for M3 will I have to find a new one for Build 23? Last question is being if I cant use the same zip as I use for M3 can I just pull the systemui from build 23 and put my files in that systemui and flash it using the same zip file. Thanks for any help its greatly appreciated im new to customizing my own stuff so trying to learn as I go.

Not sure about this post as a whole haha. Little confusing at times. What I can answer though, is that you can try flashing the m3 mods to your aokp23. If that doesn't work, then yes you can open up the system.apk and take files out of your m3 and replace them in your b23 systemUI.
Are you using flash able zips as in you are going in to recovery and flashing them, or are they zips you run through metamorph or zipthemer?
The zip im using goes through recovery its on I originally just used to change the battery symbol. Thanks for the reply I guess I put a bunch in there I can see now how it can be a bit confusing lol.
Look into making it a metamorph. It's not that hard, that way your mods work on any ROM and not just the original.
The basic idea of metamorph is that it just contains the resources for your mod (ie just the battery pngs) and it will copy the resources to where they need to go.

My phone (Galaxy S Plus) is running aosp ics built by broodplank and i want to theme it with touchwiz 5 cm9 theme. I used ninjamorph and copy and paste res file of the touchwiz 5 theme.apk (extracted) into both the systemui.apk and gramework-res.apk. I rebooted my phone and exactly no difference. Can someone tell me how to theme aosp? I hate cm9 cause aosp on my device runs smoother than vm9 and more slim
You probably didnt expect to see me here but i think you need to transfer those files with more care.
I mean the images in drawable-hdpi dont even match names probably so then its a waste of space only.
You need to check and study the contents of the aosp files good. And then based on what you know you start copying those files.
Im not a themer but i think its not just copying if you port them from a different framework (tw in this case)

Thanks but are there any tw frameworks in your aosp?
Why you dont use the theme chooser from market and apply one touchwiz theme?

he is completely right (it's broodplank, what you'd expect?)
I got a hint for you. these files which you extracted should have the same name as the same screen solution, if not, they are cannkt be displayed and you will get a fc.
How about making a team Juhan Jufri? you are a good modder! I'm building Project Stock at the moment (based on Broods AOSP (thank you again, really well done!)
It's a rom which should have all Samsung features we know well from our gb stock to make a stock like 4.0.4 rom (samsung said, they couldn't because of some hardware stuff, i will proof that).
It's not easy so I need help.
So? would you join my team and help me build Project Stock?
EDIT: forgot to answer your question. take the twframework.apk from a gb stock (based) rom. can be found (gess you already know) in system/framework

Hello,
I've been using the AOKP rom for quite some time now and finally switched over to the PacMan rom. I miss the AOKP touch sounds and would like to install the sounds but I haven't been able to locate the default PacMan rom touch sounds. I've already checked the system/media/audio folder ad there's no UI folder. I already downloaded the AOKP touch sounds so if anyone knows where to install them, please let me know! :good:
Thanks in advance
I downloaded PAC Rom and basically in the zip there's a UI folder in system/media/ and that's where the sounds are.
Unzip the ROM, replace the sounds (and change the names of the AOKP sounds to reflect the PAC sounds), the rezip and flash.
