[Q] Anyone know how to disable increasing ring w/o an app - Sprint LG Optimus G

Does anyone know which files are used for the increasing ringer? Because sometimes when my phone is in my pocket I don't get to it until the third ring and sometimes miss a call. I've used the app called disable increasing ring I think it's called but it makes the beginning of my ring tones skip. I know on my evo 3d there was an option to turn it on or off but not on the Optimus G. If anyone can chime in I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

That's not it. I'm referring to when your phone rings and the volume starts low then increases to high no matter if your in a loud area or not. I have checked the wise ring tone and it still has the increasing ringer.

It's alright, yea when i disable the wise Ringtone it doesn't change anything. When my phone rings it always starts at a low volume then increases. And that app on the playstore makes the beginning of the Ringtone skip, that's why I was wondering which files made that do that so I could just try and modify them myself. Thanks though

I have tried a couple of things from the market but they didn't help the alarm volume and that is my real problem. It is possible that I may not have done something right within the application, but I haven't found one yet

When I did that, the alarm "sound" did not come out to the speaker, just the phone!? I had plugged it into the speakers the night before to watch a movie as I fell asleep. The movie volume was good but the next morning when the alarm went off it just came through the phone's speaker. Maybe ther is a setting somewhere that I missed?!
Any thoughts on that?

I apologize for the delayed response. I have scoured my phone, and cannot locate a specific setting that allows this, however I can confirm that using the stock alarm app, when the alarm goes off it plays through both the phone, and the speakers.

Extremely low keypress sound

Even with the media volume to the max, my ear has to literally be on the speaker to hear the slightlest sound from the keyboard. This must be a bug, right?
Key press sounds are tied to phone ringer/notification volume, nit media volume.

With all volumes to the max, the keyboard is still silent
bump....any solutions
Never mind, downloaded audioguru, turned up system sounds now it's more audible. The system volume can't be set more to the minimum by default.
So you have to download a 3rd party app to make a $700 phone work correctly ?

No, but if you want to have your key tones louder it helps. Brand new phone, brand new OS...bound to be some bugs.
But yeah, the phone is useless without loud key tones.
thanks for this.. thought I was losing my marbles

I've had concerns about the volume on this device since i got it last week.
All tones and ringers are ridiculously low.
I tried the suggested audioguru app and have noticed a slight increase in ringer volume but thats about all.
Im surprised the forums are not flooded with posts about the low volume on the nexus.

Anyone know.....

An app that lowers the volume of your ringtone while your holding the phone? I remember my EVO 4G would do this. I could have it on its loudest setting, but once I pick up the phone, it would lower it a bit. Obviously, I dont need the full blasting the ringtone super loud, after ive already been alerted that im getting a call. Would be tons helpful!
If you turn the phone face down when you get a call it will lower the ring to very low automatically. It's a built in future.

anyone been able to raise IN CALL volume?

so volume+ works great for me. i have it at +8 and sometimes up to +10 when i'm in the car, and i can hear the notifications just fine.
but the in call volume, even on the speaker, is still really low to the point where if i'm on the highway i can't hear someone even if they're on speaker unless i hold it to my ears.
probably going to get a bluetooth speaker for my car soon, but until then i want to just boost it.
i know volume+ has this boost incall volume by editing the build.prop but i have no idea what to do, and obviously don't want to screw anything up. so has anyone done that, or does anyone have another way of boosting the in call volume for both speakerphone and regular speaker.
Extremely interested in this myself.
I tried doing it with volume+ but it only ended up making it worse.
If anyone has done it successfully, please post how.
My in call volume raises fine with volume+

What did you set yours to? The choices are 0 - 100.
bumping this to hopefully get an answer.
bumping this again because i'd really love to actually be able to hear people when i'm not in a quiet room.
Did you try volume+ beta? It is a lot better than the one on the market. You can find it in the themes and apps section.

Not for me. I don't have any problems with it.

How can I silence notification sounds when I'm plugged in?

I listen to music in my car through the headphone jack, and it's annoying when every notification will sound, lowering the volume of my music playing. It'll bring back my music after the tone plays, as it should
This happens under all 3 profiles.
When I'm not plugged into the jack, all is at it should be based on whatever profile is engaged. The phone will only vibrate under the vibrate profile, music blasting at continuous, unbroken volume.
I've tried messing with the sound settings and profiles, but I can't seem to rid myself of the annoyance

Have you tried any automating apps like Tasker or Llama? You can set up profiles in those that detect when certain variable conditions are met, such as headphones plugged in and charging. If you have any questions on how to do this, I would be happy to help.
For example, I currently have a Tasker profile that turns on Bluetooth in the morning and once it detects it is connected to the Bluetooth in my car, it increases the media volume to max, lowers the notification volume to zero, and starts Mort for my audio book for my morning commute. In the evening, it starts Slacker radio instead for my commute home.

Why thank you! Will try this out right now!

And Tasker seems rather complicated to set up!

Yeah, I admit Tasker is a bit daunting at first, but once you learn some stuff, it's awesome! I started out using llama, which can do a lot of stuff while still being free. Tasker is just more feature packed and can do other things like creating scenes and even make an installable app.
Just as a quick rundown, Tasker is set up with Profiles, Tasks, Scenes, and Variables tabs. You start with either the profiles or tasks. The profiles set up the conditions of which you want your task to run from. To start, you can ignore the scenes and variables. I think there's even an " easy" or " simple" mode if you want .
If you would like more help in how to set one of them up, I would be happy to assist. Otherwise, there's a lot of other resources out there with more knowledge than me.

Just checking to see if you got it to work the way you wanted. If not, I would be happy to help!

Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean. Are you asking about how to use Tasker or Llama to change the notification volume when plugged in?

No. I'm asking if there is a mid to flash through recovery to disable notification in headphones when in silent or vibrate mode.
My old phone made a notification in headphone only in "normal mode" and it was better!

Sorry, but no, I don't know of any mod to apply in recovery. Instead, I have a tasker profile set up so that whenever my Bluetooth headphones are connected, the notification volume is set to zero.
Otherwise, have you used an xposed module like gravity box to make sure your ringtone and notification volumes are linked? I'm not sure, but perhaps that will make it so the notification is muted when in silent or vibrate mode.
