At So my whole goal is to bring Ubuntu v.03 for the galaxy nexus Verizon. Now the image created for the hd2 we can use. What we would need is a stock kernal or custom with the CONFIG_VT enabled. Then a custom boot .img. They had it running on the nexus s n I figure a similair process could be used I'll post links to show what I'm talking about but I have an image with a working touch screen. Any help would be awesome as I have little time with work and school. Also the roofs file used can be updated to ext 4
Ok, so this is my first time building a rom.
I have ubuntu installed, the jdk, android sdk, and repo is syncing as i type this.
Where should I start my modifications?
How do I make it work with my device?
Do I have to clone the d2 repository?
My ubuntu for some reason wont detect my device when I do lsusb.. I think my cable is messed up causeI did see it like two times but then it just disapeared.
I want to try some easy mods and run it on an emulator before flashing to my device. Can anyone help me?
At the moment my s3 is running the latest version of touchwiz. I was running cm10 since like july just this week I decided to try out the new touchwiz version, I will switch back when cm10.1 arrives.
Im just wondering if there is Ubuntu Touch available to download for the N7 I've seen one for the old version but wondering if its in the works or available for the 2013 model.
Would it be possible for me to get Ubuntu Touch 14.04 on my captivate glide I927?
It currently has a SlimBean rom with clockwork recovery which works fine but if I try to flash Ubuntu Touch it won't work.
I was wondering if it would be possible for me to do this, and how I would?
Someone has to prebuild an image for us specifically - Ubuntu Touch is device-specific, like those Android ROMs.
And there's no 14.04 yet - it's to be released April 2014.

Okay, thanks for filling me in on some more info
Do you know of any Ubuntu Touch roms, or anything like Ubuntu I can use on the captivate?
I just wanna mess around and I know using a captivate glide there aren't too many roms but I can't afford a better phone and I actually like this phone for now

Sorry, no. As you already said, Glide has very few ROMs, and all we have are either fully-working stock ROMs that got stuck at Android 4.0, or custom ROMs up to Android 4.3 but with major or minor flaws.
As for Ubuntu Touch - you wouldn't want to install it unless your phone is not for daily use. It's far from complete, although a "stable" release was already out for Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4. I flashed a build on my Galaxy Nexus and hell, I literally returned to my original ROM in 5 minutes.

So I have a d2spr(sprint galaxy s3), but that is the only model of the s3 that currently isn't supported or a WIP. I was wondering if either the d2vzw, d2att, or d2tmo Roms will work on my device. Please only post if you really know, because I've already hard bricked my device once.
