I've installed the 4.2.2 ROM with S4 feel by ipromeh which is based on CM10.1 alpha 6 by arco. I don't want to do anything without consulting someone with more experience first. Do you see that ANDROID UPGRADING is in progress? Maybe you have installed to many apps that is why it takes too looong to upgrrade.
Well if you think that your phone get stuck, try too reflash 4.2.2 ROM with S4, but if that would still persist, you have no choice but to format your phone.
tnx.

I don't think it's taking so long because of the amount of app because I barely have maybe 20 apps installed maybe even less (stock apps excluded).
When flashing the 4.2.2 ROM do I have to wipe/format anything? Like dalvik cache. Or do I just flash the .zip?

Usually this happens only when you install apps that are ported on our device or mods like Awesome Beats, and one more when you flash a new kernel.
I tried that rom of yours, but i had the issues described in Ipromehs thread (i admire his work, but i'll wait till his rom will be more stable), and because of that i reverted to Ehndroix III wich works best for me with the new Skull kernel (flashed separately after installing rom). Perhaps you should try that.
For me all is working fine when i (ofcourse in Clockworkmod)do factory reset, then wipe cache, then wipe dalwik cache, then go to mounts and storage, format system, then cache, then data.... after that flash rom and finally reboot.
Never failed on that. You might try it if you'd like.

Yeah it got stuck in boot mode when I rebooted my phone after attempting to install freedom.apk (for free in-app purchases).
But I understand that I most Likely will have to result to wiping everything and flashing the ROM once more. I'm thinking of just flashing Arcos CM10.1 alpha 7, what do you guys think?
I'd like to check out that Ehndroix III doe fingers crossed!
You can try that too, it is the source of many roms out here
But with that rom i have no experience so far...

I am glad that you could succed. There are some possibilities to change the looks, but do a nandroid backup before using them just in case.
Ehndroix has a Touchwiz looks package that you can download. It is not so nice like Ipromehs work, i have to admit that, but it can do the job.
For me it was unusual in the beginning, but with time i get use to it, and i began to love it. Same could happen to you also.
When you want the latest software, with the best looks, that's were you will not get guarantee, that both will be in one package since all of us have somewhat different taste.
I personally prefer things to work in the first place, after that i look into spicing things up a bit if possible.
Ipromehs roms will be soon good enough (i trust him that, because his hard work and many updates), perhaps you cold give his rom a try later.
So, enjoy your working phone! Cheers!

I have a similar problem!!
Help needed please. I am totally NEW at THIS.
1. Fastboot.exe does not recognise my device.
2. In Android system recovery <3e>(vol.up+power) PC recognises device as 'unknown device'.
3. 'FASTBOOT'(vol.down+power) screen does not change to 'FASTBOOT USB' when device is plugged in via USB code.
4. In 'FASTBOOT' screen can only select 'BOOTLOADER', 'REBOOT', 'REBOOT BOOTLOADER' & 'POWER DOWN'.
5. All above selections reboots the phone except 'POWER DOWN'.
6. adb.exe recognises phone in 'FASTBOOT' screen but not fastboot.exe.
7. Phone is in debug mode.
8. After booting - 'HTC quietly brilliant' screen, then there is no 'Beats Audio' screen - but it's a black screen.
9. PC shows device as 'USB Mass Storage' in 'FASTBOOT', no Android phone shown. In windows explorer can see two 'Removable Disk', but not accessible.
10. If cache is cleared - phone stuck in 'Android is upgrading... Starting applications'.
11. Only adb.exe commands are working and NOT fastboot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
'FASTBOOT' screen shown as below:-
MARVEL PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-1.08.0000
MICROP-0451
RADIO-7.53.39.03M
Oct 31 2011.20:38:16
What stock ROM is required for above phone??
HTC One X or HTC S720e or HTC EndeavorU ???
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The box in which the phone came has following details:-
Model: S720e
CPU: 1.5 GHz, Quad Core
Platform: Android with HTC Sense
1 GB RAM, 32 GB Storage
Serial No.-0123456789ABCDEF
HTC One X
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CPU Z showed device as: HTC Endeavor, G26
Most likely if I can get the correct ROM it can be solved. I can select 'apply update from sdcard' in android system recovery <3e> mode.
PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I did full wipe, dalvek & cache
Download again. Flash rom. Reboot. Wait a few minutes. Do your settings, reboot, flash gapps, reboot.
Technically, it doesn't really matter in what order you do it (I believe it so), some people swear by x or y method. In short, you should be able to flash the rom and gapps without needing to reboot in between and without loosing anything. It's odd that you are. After flashing both of those then download your apps, that is, if you use gapps.

Things just break sometimes. It's not as easy as it seems to make a ROM with so many features by oneself. If you're talking about GPS not working since SR1, that specific issue was because synergye's source code hosting site BitBucket merged some of his code together and messed things up, and he had to sort that out to get it fixed. That's what I remember reading. GPS and Bluetooth will be working in the next release.
@OP -
Something is messed up in your wiping/flashing process. No one else has the issues you described, save for the wallpaper resetting on restart sometimes. Like Teichopsia said, wipe properly and reflash ROM and gapps. You might think you're wiping correctly, but you might be doing it all wrong. There are many guides on what constitutes a full wipe. Report back here if it still occurs after full wiping and re-flashing properly.

First time trying anything like this on a smart phone. So tonight I did a "back to factory" restart to get the phone like it was when I opened it out of the box. Then I read about this ROM, and thought why not. So I rooted my phone, then installed the ROM. Everything went fairly smooth, and got the ROM working. My problem is I dont have a google play store app now, and I didnt sync anything, so I dont have any of my apps, nor do I have the ability to download them again. Any help with this?

Flash gapps. Linked in cfX OP.
I do have the gapps file downloaded. I just dont know how to get it on my phone and working. I used a ROM manager app for the ROM file.
From recovery, same way you flashed the ROM (except for the full wipe part; don't wipe.)

You need to use "adb reboot recovery" from your computer. There are several good adb guides; check the Ace Think Tank link in my signature. Then, depending on your recovery, find the option that says something like "install zip from sdcard." Use it, navigate to your gapps, and select it.

Next question is I downloaded Gmail App, and it wont sync with my account. I login, and everything but it just sits at the screen saying "Waiting for sync, your email will appear shortly" I've waited well over 10mins and no sync. Ideas?
Have you set up your account in Settings? If you reboot between flashing the ROM and gapps you need to do that manually; it doesn't show a first boot thing.

Ok last question, will adobe flash player work with this ROM? If so how can I get it. I search the market and the app isnt there. And its not on my phone either
4.2 in general doesn't support flash. You could try searching for the apk and sideloading it. Make sure you enable installation from unknown sources in Settings - Security.

So, when fixing one thing, the process could probably break some working features.
Hi all,
I have a problem I'm hoping somebody can help me fix. I have a virgin mobile One V (CDMA) that I recently was trying to flash AOKP's Dec 5th ROM to, but long story short after following all the instructions to a T when I reboot after sending the boot.img via command promp from the ADB-contained folder, the screen is just black with the back light on and does nothing after showing the HTC boot screen with developer info below in red.
Here is what I have:
HTC One V from Virgin, unlocked bootloader
TWRP 2.3.3.0 for CDMA
aokp_primoc_unofficial_Dec-05-12
gapps-jb-20121011-signed
boot.img from aokp folder
stock kernel
Here are the strange things I notice, not sure if they mean anything but
- When going into Hboot upon entering the bootloader area, it searches for different images, all of which come back saying Not Found!, something like PK76DIAG
- When doing factory reset, it says Failed because
Using rm -rf on .android_secure
Unable to mount '/sd-ext'
Trying to perform a restore which was backed up in TWRP as well results in the same thing. The only difference is that the virgin mobile splash screen comes on briefly, but after that goes back to black and never boots up.
I hope this isn't a serious problem since everything was working fine right up until I decided to try and flash the new ROM! I've tried everything I can find on the issue but nothing I could find matches my exact problems, sorry if I missed it and this problem was mentioned before.
Also, my radio is still at version 1.00.00.0521_2, so it's not the newer radio issue.
Thanks to all for your help in advance
Relax, nothings happened to your phone, this is caused only because you did not do proper research before trying out something new.

OK hi here we go....
1st. DEC 5th build of aokp does not work, it has "black screen of death issue" use the Nov. 18th (I believe) build or even better go to my port....provisions and install
2nd..... twrp 2.3 and higher has that problem of not factory wipe use the one in our thread
3rd.... sdcard will not mount for wipe as if it did it would wipe your sdcard and u would really be in trouble.
4th... u have to re flash a ICS kernel boot IMG, aokp is a jelly bean ROM. if reverting back to stock use jmz stock based image in less u have stock one backed up. jelly bean and ice cram sandwich stuff do not mix.
So to fix use right ROM and right kernel or use back up with the right kernel. And as always read the thread for these warnings so this will not happen
I have an ongoing issue with Galaxy W phone and CM.
The problem is that the phone spontaneously decides to not boot.
I had run CM10 from first Alpha, and on a couple of occasions it would, after several days or weeks use, stay on the CM spinning logo, and refuse to go to interface.
I got around this by keeping a couple of Nandroids handy and just restored them when the boot issue occurred.
On subsequent fresh install, I ran for a couple of weeks with virtually no app installations, to see if something I was running was causing the issue. Turns out no relationship.
I have just flashed Alpha 7 of CM 10 and now its doing it again. This is a fresh install.
I re-downloaded the ROM from the second mirror, and tried flashing with that, but get the same result.
Is it possible the flash memory in my phone is faulty? On a PC if you install an OS - fresh install - and it wont boot, generally its either RAM or HDD. Given this is a recurring issue, I wonder if its the phone, rather than the OS thats causing the problem - as I have tried with several of the Alphas and both download locations of the most recent Alpha and its still happening.
Can anyone suggest?
Is there a chkdsk option for phone flash memory?
thanks
Jim
[edit] just installed CM9 (last beta) and its doing the same thing - stuck at boot animation and will not get to desktop.
Anyone? Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks very much for the link I have downloaded it
So I noticed something else thats kinda weird.
When I go to /sdcard, its not showing the content of the sd card
So if I swap out the card, it still loads the same folder, not the stuff from the sd card I have inserted.
I have a few of these. All read fine in the PC, but the phone does not seem to recognise the files, as they dont change if I reboot with a different card/different content in.
/sdcard
Code:
../
.android_secure/
Android/
LOST.DIR/
RZR/
Video/
cm-10-2013~ancora-alpha7.zip
gapps-jb-~signed.zip
SD card contents when read from PC
Code:
I8150TDULM1_I8150TVAULG1_VAU.zip
Its as though it has a partition called /sdcard, and can't mount the content of the physical card itself. Anyone seen this before? Is there a way to re-partition internal memory?

Usually when you're stuck on the HTC logo it's because the ROM you are trying to flash also needs the kernel flashed, which you have to be S-off to do and the developer you got the ROM(s) from should have provided it. You were very general, but I presume a full wipe was cache, dalvik-cache, data/factory reset, and (optional), battery stats? Are you just plain stuck, can't do a factory reset and/or didn't make a backup before trying the ROMs? I was going to flash this ROM at one time and he gives some pretty good instructions to follow...sounds like it might work for you. Better than staring at the HTC logo, eh?!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...ht=what+files+can+i+remove+from+my+wildfire+s
Thanks for the reply. I can get to recovery but I can't install anything as recovery can't seem to find the internal storage.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 4
Most recoveries are going to look on the external storage, the actual sd card. Can you move your ROM to that and give it a try? Just to save time, I'll say I'm figurin' the sd card is formatted (FAT 32) and if there's a problem seeing that you might have to go into, "Mounts and Storage" and mount the sd card. I'm in the middle of a movie and will get back after, if you have another question I can help with. Hope it works.
ok so i finally got CWM to see the sdcard and i installed a rom and flashed the boot.img.
now the phone just reboots into recovery. what the hell is wrong with this dam phone????!?!?!
So far we've been successful with the, "One step back and two steps forward" approach so:
You extracted the boot.img file from the ROM zip to your PC for use after and then installed the ROM, rebooted the phone into recovery>>fastboot, hooked up to the PC in a command prompt and changed directory to where you have the boot.img and the adb/fastboot command files and at the command prompt typed: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Typically you would then type: fastboot erase cache, or back in recovery wipe the cache and reboot to find the ROM (slowly) booting for the 1st time.
I'm a one step at a time person (so I know what worked). So if all that's true, and it's still stuck in a recovery loop then I'd try wiping cache again and dalvik-cache and rebooting.
If that doesn't work I'd suggest one of two things:
1. Start over and I don't mean at htcdev, but wiping cache, dalvik, and data...install ROM, flash boot.img, wipe cache reboot...or
2. We can go over all the steps (as briefly as possible for both our sakes) and I'll say why: one time I was writing a macro and it just wouldn't work, after 3 days of spending too much time on it each day I asked someone else to look at it and he found I had missed a slash or used a comma instead of a semi-colon or some one simple thing. So it wouldn't hurt to see if there was one little thing skipped.
Lastly for now - if you post again, whatever you post, just for my curiosity tell me which (compatible with the Wildfire S) ROM your wanting to use.
First of all I just want to thank you for trying to help.
I did those steps perfectly and they've always worked with my HTC one x but no dice with this wildfire.

I did a quick look at the page for your intended ROM and first thought, aha...in the instructions to install, the wipe file he provides seems to indicate for a marvelc in the name, so does it wipe all it should on a gsm WFS; but, then he's got that link to the ROM for a marvel c(dma); anyway I did a quick search of the thread (there are 119 pages!) for, "Reboots into recovery" and found this (among others):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2206780&highlight=reboots+into+recovery&page=102
I do see where there was a rebooting into recovery problem with this ROM and a fix was applied in July 2013. I think the link above is to the, "fixed" ROM (hopefully for GSM WFS) but I'm not going to claim that as fact; again, I just took a quick look between my morning news readings and did not read around the problem or, about Lizards patch.
We could go deeper like formatting partitions, but since he has provided a wipe script and there's so much info there...well, I'm not dumping you, but I am thinking researching there might get you more specific results since we've pretty much been going through the generic version of flashing ROMS. What do you think?
ok i read the entire thread and flashed all the fixes etc but no dice. however i did flash a different rom altogether and now everything seems to be working fine!!!!!
dont know why that never occurred to me before!
i must say thank you for all your help. it is very much appreciated
now for some strange reason the original rom now works !!!!!!!!!
For as long as I"ve been fooling around with electronic devices, it often still just seems like, "PFM" sometimes; and, I don't know how many times I've done the right thing over and over and over and then just given up and set it aside only to pick it up again a day or two later and then everything goes like it should...and not doing anything different!
I'm glad you got everything going again, and I'm sure you just want to get back to enjoying it, but I'm curious to know (along with anyone else that might be following) what ROM finally worked, and then you ended up going back to which, "Original" ROM, stock?
I hear you on that. So many times I've had to work on systems for hours then magically I'll do something and it works.
What I did was flash another custom ROM which was unofficial cm10.2 it's on the main page made by owl. That booted up fine but I wasn't happy with that ROM so I flashed the one that I've been trying to flash, marvellous cm10, the one you helped me with.
The only thing I did differently was flash the boot. IMG after I flashed the ROM , I usually flash the boot image first on my one x.
And that's about it.

I clicked a thanks (and thank you for yours). I enjoyed the exchange and glad you've got it going. The Wildfire S is a great phone, especially for me (although I have my SIM in another phone now) and hopefully your nephew, because it needs to be managed, tuned, tweaked, etc. which is what I love to do and hopefully your nephew will too and keep at it now that you got him off to a good start.
good start yes, but i have to fix the mistakes!! lol
Do you know where u can get int2ext?

You caught me right at the end of a movie I was watching!
I've always been happy with Link2SD, but you can't beat moving all of data to SD.
Try this:

also, this is an easy way to get init.d if you don't have that...I think it's needed for int2ext:

Have fun!
I was wondering if it is possible to use the Sense 4.5/4+ keyboard on my Inspire 4G running ICS? I've been using a One X with JB, but since it died and I'm stuck with this phone for now, I'd really like to have the other keyboard back since this one is driving me nuts!
Thanks in advance
Oops, never mind.
Xperia Keyboard
Hey, I know it's not quite what you were looking for, but the Xperia keyboard is worth a try.
I'm in the same boat as you, where I'm temporarily stuck on the DHD since my BB Z10 took a swim.
The BB has a fantastic keyboard, so I was suffering quite a bit until I remembered my days with my Xperia S, and its own great keyboard, which is almost as fast. Working great on AoCP 6.

The link to the ICS (Xperia S) version is dead, so here's another if you're interested...

Definitely worth a try imo.
As always, don't forget a nandroid backup, just in case!
As for the newer Sense keyboards, I just did some pretty decent research and it doesn't seem like anyone has been able to get them working on older Sense/non-Sense roms.

Thanks for the reply! I'll try that keyboard, sounds interesting to say the least. I looked around before I posted too, and it seems like the new version of ViperDHD may include the Sense 4.5 keyboard. But since I'd really like to avoid having to flash another rom, I was hoping it was just an .apk or something along those lines. Ah well, I'll survive for now...miss the screen on my One X so badly though!
Went into recovery, flashed the zip...and now my phone will not boot. It just sits on the "desire HD" screen, pulsing endlessly. Any ideas?
Did you... do a nandroid backup like I suggested?
This shouldn't have affected the system, as it only flashes the keyboard apks (Chinese and English), the engine into /lib and their language files into /usr.
You can try flushing the cache and dalvik cache.
Did you do any other changes in or out of recovery?

Unfortunately, I went full retard and neglected the nandroid...after all, it's only a keyboard...yeah, that worked well. That was what I thought as well, the only odd thing I saw is that /system is 100% full (found this when I was looking for the files it flashed, and not finding them. Got a cp error when using adb shell, the partition was full. Deleted a few things, copied the files...but still no dice). I have tried flushing cache+dalvik, repeatedly, TWRP says it succeeds but nothing changes when trying to boot.
Thanks for replying so quickly!
That's really unfortunate. The only thing I could think of short of wiping and flashing is maybe booting a CWM based recovery and trying cache and dalvik wipe through that. I've had problems with TWRP recoveries doing weird things with partitions.
An easy obvious one would be the recovery1.img file found in the rooting and s-off kit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2221039)
I'd assume with the fact that you're on a custom rom and know how to flash that this would be fairly easy, but just in case...
If you have any trouble with booting to bootloader, I actually found out that our device is already accessable as an adb device when off and plugged in, which is pretty cool, so a simple
adb reboot bootloader

in cmd with your phone turned off and plugged in will get you there. Super useful for my device since my volume - button is shot.
In case you didn't know, if you shift+right click in explorer while in a folder, you have the option to open a cmd window already set to that directory.
having the recovery1.img in the same folder as adb and fastboot,
fastboot boot recover1.img

Hopefully that works?
If not, I guess now would be as good a time as any to try that new version of Viper.
Good Luck!
