Hey has anyone else tried changing a screen on a desire?
I've managed to do it after following a couple of guides on YouTube but the middle part of the screen doesn't respond to touch.
Does anyone know how to fix this or what causes it?
Any help appreciated.

Is the cable properly connected?
Yes, I have checked the ribbon connection and the 3 clips that fold onto the circuit board. Can get some pictures of it helps.

Hi. When I wake my Desire, the screen is blank. However, the 4 hard keys are lit up, and a tiny crack at the bottom of the screen is lit up. When I put my finger at the slide to unlock, there is a small vibration, indicating that the phone is responsive but not the display. Issue persists after taking out the battery and reinserting.
Thanks in advance.
You mean that your screen doesn't work at all, or at wake up only?

I'm guessing that your screen is broken (not the touch panel, the actual screen) because mines dropped the other day and the same thing was happening so I replaced the screen and it works fine now

Was it covered by your warranty? Where did you replace the screen?
Well if it didn't worked when you got the phone and/or you haven't messed with it (did not drop, change radio...) (eg. it stopped working one day) and the warranty is valid,I don't see why it shouldn't be covered..

I didn't bother with the warranty, I just got it replaced at a local phone shop
You could just order a screen online and try it yourself but make sure you order the right screen

The exact same thing happened to me too. It went into service, they've replaced the screen and the motherboard (wtf?), and now it's all ok, all of this free of charge. Don't bother buying the screen yourself, just go the easy way. It might take a bit longer, but it sure is cheaper.
Hi, does someone know how the desire z know that the keyboard is open ?
I've just replaced the glass/touchpad, and the phone "think" that the keyboard is always open.
Any idea how to fix that ?
Jean.
There is a magnet

Got it thanks.
I've attached a photo of the magnet for futur reference.

I noticed a kind of colour problem with my Desire HD. Heres a Photo.
Is it possible to fix it by myself?
Does this happen in recovery/hboot/while booting too?

Unfortunately yes. i think in the top of the screen the white is a little brighter.
Edit: could it be water under the screen?
I don't think so, no... If you're under warranty take it for repair, if not, there are dozens of how to videos to replace your display...

Got the note 2 a week ago and just noticed the s pen is not working on part of the screen while I was playing with it in s note. Very strange. Any thoughts?

part of the screen is lower right of screen, like a 3 mm triangle? then it's normal.
I searched online and the problem is identified. Its the magnitic flip case that distorted the area directly above it. Is this going to have a long term damage to the s pen function?

Thank you that I saw your post and isolated the problem. yes it was the magnetic buttons that was causing the screen to behave improperly at one particular location. I have removed the magnets and now its ok.
Thanks again !!

Hi guys,
Is this a common problem? I tested 2 Galaxy note 2 and found both of them with the same issues.
The top 1 cm of the screen
always fade! And there is a line between the top part and the bottom part.
Any one know anything about this issue? Is it under warranty?
Any help will be much appreciated.
I attached a screen shot but realised nothing will show, however you can use this screenshot to test your device.
