Hangout Emojis in CM10.1 mms.apk - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I replaced the old iOS emojis in the messaging app so that they'd match up with the much nicer emojis from the new hangout app. Works great.
Basically, I pulled both sets of images and painstakingly matched them up one by one and renamed the hangout emojis, resized them, and placed them back into the APK using 7zip.
Anyway, here's the mms.apk in case anyone else wanted to use it.

Not a problem. I'm a big fan of continuity, so as soon as hangout was released with all those nice emojis, it bugged me to have the ugly old ones in the mms.apk. now if I could only get them system wide...

With a root explorer type app, inside system/app, copy and paste the new apk over the old one and change permissions to mimic the others in the folder. Reboot and profit.

good job

Can anyone make a flash-able ZIP for this. I actually us a non-rooted custom ROM?

You sir are my hero!!! I just asked for this a few days ago over here. I tried it myself but couldn't get the MMS.apk to stop FC'ing. Now was wondering if you could get all 876 unicode emoji characters like IOS has. I was in contact with the awesome dev that makes the Shady SMS app and he has implemented all of them with the updated Hangout emojis, which is what inspired me.
Update: Installed but having a couple problems. Cant send or receive picture messages. Qhen people send them I never get them and when I try & send one the mms.apk fc's and I have to delete the thread to send another text.

Or you could just replace the emoji in the jbsourcery mms app (the exp one not the encore one - pop-up is not fully themed in encore).

[APP]AOSP MMS inverted, no contact portraits (workaround for touchwiz mms FC) EMOJI!

I took an inverted AOSP mms, Decompiled it using clean CM framework and made a few XML edit's. This will eliminate the force close issue with AOSP MMS on touchwiz 4.1.2 when you touch your own contact portrait. This has emoji and emoji quick button. make sure you have AOSP mms enabled on your ROM.
Replace current MMS in system/app with this, rename if you need too

You can also select more options like: no avatars in message and list, bubbles or not and more.

Ok guys, wait for a while. Kinda busy at work Thanks
Ok this might sound a bit dump now but that´s because I didn´t use CM11 for now and as far I know in CM11 you have to use Hangouts or 8sms.
So is this a replacement mms app for CM11 or is it just CM11 like themed?

Aha, thx dec0der :good:
Did you test the dark holo dialer and contacts too? These are not as easy to install by pushing them to system/priv-app. In his thread, hello00 talked about a specific framework.res which is needed to made a properly working zip.
Cheers
I was looking for this for my installed Beam Kat. Will try it, thanks!
