can i dirty flash to freeza's newest stock rom?

If you do and run across bugs, don't post them until you've done a clean flash

Question about kernels and roms.

I'm still pretty new to this. If I flash a new rom (in this case CM10) does it also flash a kernel? If I am on cm10 and flash a new aosp based kernel and decide to go back would I flash the stock Samsung kernel or is there a special one for cm10?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
All ROMs include a kernel, without one it wouldn't boot. If you flash a new kernel after installing CM10 and want to revert to the old kernel, just flash the ROM again without wiping data and it will restore the kernel.

Upgrading to ice cream sandwich/jelly bean

I'm trying to upgrade a Tmobile galaxy s2 to jellybean that's currently running GB rooted with a custom rom. I tried simply flashing a newer ROM (ics then and jb ) but it wouldn't finish booting. I searched like crazy but I can't find any sure answers, is there a guide for my problem or something I should do like firmware update? Thanks!
You should use odin to flash the official ICS first before jumping to ICS and JB roms

You don't have to do anything but flash the rom you want and an updated radio. I flashed gb to ics to jb numerous times. No need for odin.

That's a relief. Thanks! I tried flashing cm9 and all I got was a bootloop. I'll do the radio as well though

flash the at and t specific cleanrom at scottsrom.com or flash the all carrier edition 4.7. Either one will work for you
You can be stock rooted and use custom recovery and then flash a debloater zip without even switching roms you can find the zip here in xda for the note 2

Make sure you get the .zip, the .tar is for PC Odin. And el29 recovery can't flash modems, just so you know.

Additionally, if you use Mobile Odin, you must use the tar, and it can't flash modems either.

If you flash stick rom, it will install rom, modem, kernel, unless the dev's op specifically says otherwise. Are you on Sprint?

Lucky you . I actually have a build that is completely stock, 2 actually, for Boost. One fat, one debloated. It flushes stock kernel, rom, but no modem. OP has link to rwilco's repo for the GC01 modem though. Will get you back to stock.

That build is exactly like stock gb27 in every way except the mmsc is set up for boost, and it has boost logo, splash screen, etc. And if you want to flash back to ics, just flash el26 kernel, reboot into recovery, wipe everything, flash your stock ics, reboot, profit.
