Is it possible... - Sprint LG Optimus G

Is it possible to some way make our devices capable of sending imessage texts to iPhone users? Sorry if this sounds stupid it was more or less a highdea that sounded like a decent one

This is just my personal thought on this but if sms uses user agents which it may or may not, you could possibly mask the sms as an iPhone or another device. Like the picture below but it applies to mms.

So basically you'd be making the iPhone think it was receiving a text from another iPhone? Anyone ever give it a try? I'm new to the android scene so I don't know much about all this, but I'm trying to learn!

Essentially that would be the idea, it actually working the same way is beyond me. Would need someone with deep knowledge of cellular networks to confirm or deny it's possibility.

I don't think so.

It'd be cool if it was possible

I doubt it because in Apples press release today about government data requests it stated that facetime and imessages are encrypted on each end and therefore apple did not have access to the messages.
So it sounds like you would have to figure out the encryption etc.

So in other words, both imessage and facetime are not able to be read by our privacy invading government?
If so, that's a bummer. Is there a way we can encrypt our phones so that our messages can't be creeped on? If so I imagine it would be quite difficult and complex but I feel as though it'd be worth it. Its not like I'm texting government secrets, but I'm all for personal privacy and I don't agree with all this phone tapping and such by our fantastic country

No.

Umm, what? How would an app be able to help you avoid earthquakes? Nobody can predict them...

I don't understand the question?
Earthquakes happen all the time.
Although usually not very significant, they're a lot like the weather.
Hard to predict.
Too soon.

Yes, Whatsapp removed their app from the marketplace for an unknown reason. It should return soon.
Oh okie now it make sense the app is not there in the marketplace for some unknown reason and no bloggers have covered this surprisingly or may be that tells no one is using wp7 these days

It was covered. The blogs said it was pulled for security issues... I think that's a load of crap. Everyone who cares about that stuff knows whatsapp uses regular HTTP on all platforms, and whatsapp wasn't pulled on iOS/Android.
So it was something else, maybe moving to the paid version with a resubmit so those who already downloaded have to buy it.

Anyone using Chat On?

Anyone tried this app yet?

Tried it. Found no use for it. Delete it.
I used it, it's good for texting with friends from other countries. But it's redundant if they already have facebook messenger.

Is the best app for texting... better than whats app
Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
I've never used because I don't txt much but but I know how feature rich these korean chat apps can be.
It does help if you're trying to send larger than MMS supported video files, so I guess that's a plus.
Never used it ... same here dont text that much ....

I personally like it better than the stock one on my GS3. the problem is that not everyone would load this on their phones to text. mostly everybody uses the stock sms and don't care for something different. But how come there's no widget for this app?

Failed to sign in to yahoo error

So this phone has been alerting me like crazy saying my yahoo login has failed. Never had it happen on my other phones so didnt know if it was a known issue or not. Anyone have an idea why this keeps happening?

No idea. But if you find out let me know. I have had it on this phone and my e4gt. Its a pain.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
I have gotten that a few times before. I'm guessing it must be a Yahoo issue?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda premium
Of it is a yahoo issue its a limitied issue. My wife has had yahoo on her phone for years and has yet to have any problems. Her phone is rooted as well. Or maybe its a yahoo issue with samsung software. She has never had a samsung phone.

I've always had HTC, prior to this phone. I never recall this happening previously. I get it every so often on my GNII though.

It's a Samsung issue. I've been experiencing this on every Galaxy phone I've ever owned. On HTC phones it's never an issue. Just ignore it when it happens, it'll go away when the Samsung email server is done being retarded. Also if you click on the notification it'll ask you to enter your password again, just ignore it because you don't have to. Either don't click on the notification and clear it out or back out of the password section if you already clicked on it. Makes no sense to key it in because it's just going to fail again as the correct password was already set when it failed.

My theory is that the Samsung email app is a bit too proactive in alerting about Yahoo sign in errors where other email apps do not. I get them too.
I also have k-9 mail and have noticed that when i have it set to check email at certain time frames and yet i get emails much after their time stamps sometimes. This is perhaps because it couldn't sign in to poll/check for email at the set time (for whatever reason, either on k-9 mail's part or Yahoo's servers) and so just waited for the next polling to retrieve emails.
I have the same issue and it is driving me crazy sometimes I feel like throwing the phone as far as I can cause I get the alert a lot. The thing that I do not understand is that it may not do it for a hrs or a day or so, but there are sometimes it is constantly going off everyone is still having this issue?
I use the Yahoo Mail app and have never had that come up in almost a year.
Try their app over the stock email app and see if that fixes.

saw 2 files you removed that I'm just giving an experienced warning on for others...if you remove the voicemail, you will not receive any notifications if you get voice messages, again I know from experience
not gonna double quote the other pic I saw but the google text to speech file, another 1 that if you ever use your phone on the road for gps, you will not get turn by turn voice directions...yes I've done this and experienced the loss of turn by turn voice
other than that, nice listings and compilation for users

Thank you for the for letting them know that , voicemail for me if I miss a call I just hit and hold 1 and takes you to the old style voicemail
And I dont use voice stuff at all for my phone kinda pointless to me when you have google on mobile web...lol...
Tell you what man deleting all this is amazing how much battery I have gained and how much smoother the phone and performance is
If you and any of you have anymore pointers for the apps being deleted please feel free to share
This list is the list I personally deleted because I never have or never will I use
hey man no problem, I'm like you, I rip all that crap out!! lol even the custom roms, but sometimes when I miss calls at work, I don't bother just dialing the voicemail and next thing you know, I get the message over a week late lol gotta love the space it all frees up too and speeding up the phone and saving battery life for sure
again good posting up of the pics for people to actually see and follow along
