Ok, Well, I was really bored today, and was tired of the boring PACman ROM bootscreen, so I decided to spruce my phone up a bit, and conjured this little piece up
NOTE!: I DID NOT CREATE THE VIDEO THAT THE BOOTANIMATION IS BASED OFF OF, THE CREATOR IS XANDERCOM FROM YOUTUBE, I WILL NOT BE TAKING CREDIT FOR THAT PORTION, JUST CONVERTING IT TO BOOTANIMATION FORM!
Ok, first things first, the splash screen, damn, this was a toughy, because half the image (the bottom) had to be hand created in photoshop using sample bits from the top half, and it was really a chore to get it to look half-decent, and then theres the bootanimation, this was completely created and brainstormed and rendered by XANDERCOM on YouTube, not me, i just trimmed the edges and then used a tool to convert it to a bootanimation, here it is, its timed to end in the same amount of time PACman ( and CM10.1/AOKP i assume) boot but without further a-do, i present the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Splash Screen and bootanimation :

Thank you!
AWESOME!!
Thank you!
Great looking boot animation.
UPDATE:
I REALLY love this and it works great on most (maybe all) of the 4.2.2 ROMs I've tried, but when I use a modified stock 4.1.2 TW ROM there is no Bootanimation.zip file - it's a different format. The Splashscreen works, but not the Bootanimation.
Any chance of getting a Doctor Who Boot in that format, or is it even possible?

Hi Whoareyou,
since I wasn't able to find a nice and HD Doctor Who splashscreen for my Nexus 7 I wanted to ask if you would be so kind to a) create this animation in 1080p or b) provide me with the necessary source files for this animation so I can try to do it myself?
Thank you very much!

I believe you need to be using a kernel that supports custom boot animations. Kt747 worked fine for me when I was still on touchwiz.

BIG THANKS TO SFHUB for enabling custom bootanimation support in his FE10 plus kernel.
This are bootanimations I did port long ago to Samsung Moment phone.
Now I just grabbed them and modified a little so they would work fine with this phone.
I don't know who created them originally to give credit and thanks but you guys should know it's not my creation.

I had a thread jam-packed with boot animations that I ported/converted...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18397862&postcount=1
...but all of them were uploaded to Multiupload (which was taken down by the FBI) and I didn't have them on my computer anymore, so I lost all of them.
I kinda forgot how much people like simple mods (like boot animations).
Maybe agat63 and I can work on porting/converting them again?

Download the .zip from here.
put it on your sdcard and boot to recovery and install the .zip, Aroma installer gives options for your bootanimation location, so it helps if you know where yours is installed.

It would be a different screen size, as HOX has a large 1280 x 720 px screen, so my guess would be no, sorry!
I'm guessing from the extremely limited feedback, that
1. It works fine.
2. Nobody likes it
Beautiful !!!
Hi Dude,
Your boot animation is beautiful !!! I love it, but ...
On my one x CyanogenMod Alpha 8, it is really laggy so do you think this is an issue or is it normal ?
One again really nice job !!!
Thank youuu:good:
Depends how laggy you mean, it's meant to be a bit skitty if thats what you mean, if not and you mean really laggy then i don't know what it could be, i tried it on 2 different roms with the ani in 2 different locations and it worked the same (ARHD & LeeDrOiD)
How many init.d scripts do you have, as I'm sure they run when the phone is on boot animation... It could be the phone reading/running all booting scripts making it run a bit slower than normal...
Just a thought really...

Thanks, I do know that, but the user before stated it didnt work, so i was just trying to find out some info from them instead of "it doesnt work"...
To answer your question, it isnt from the Droid DNA it is from the Droid X made by Motorola from Verizon... If you're after the Droid DNA bootanimation, it might be worth taking a look around in their forum and asking someone to upload it (I just looked ant cannot find anything.. Not many people got it yet)..
GOOD, thanks mate
Welcome to my collection of bootanimations.
I started this over in the Galaxy Note forums and now that I upgraded to the S3 I am adjusting them all to work on the S3. Big thanks to anbech for the mod that enables custom bootanimations on the S3.
Getting started:
For this to work you need to have custom bootanimations enabled.
Anbech made a CWM flashable zip to enable bootanimations.
Download the CWM_CustomBootanimation_Enable.zip and flash it via CWM.
Check anbechs thread over here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31833122&postcount=4
Installation:
Download the according zip, copy to your SD and flash with CWM.
These are looping animations. As mentioned by Kryten2k35 these will not work on ICS roms!!
As stated in the Galaxy Note forum, I do not take any credit for creating the original animations.
Here we go....

Hi mate!
I was a fan of the Bokeh filter animation but it was never the right size for my screen. How's it looking on the S3? Also, be aware of the ICS/JB problem. ICS ROM's can't have a looping animation (so you must count the times a part is played) but JB has no problem. I also found that the ICS stuff needed to be twice the FPS.
Looks amazing, and I gonna try all of these!

Usual disclaimer: I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. Period. Do this at your own risk.
Thanks so much to con247 (link) for making the splash screen converter I used for these. Here is a link to the converter to make your own splash screens: Automatic Splash Image Creator (PNG to Flashable Zip in One Click!) (link).
I have a splash screen thread in the myTouch 4G forum (link), and since con247 posted his converter I have had my splash screen replaced. These were pretty popular when I was using the MT4G, so I wanted to share them here too since I've had a little time.
Thanks to QTeknology for his original post with his Nexus One splash screen I used.
These splash screens were originally made by JSZESZE for the Evo 4G. Thanks go to him for allowing me to post these here. If you have any friends with an Evo, they can get their copies here (link).
Instructions:
Do a backup of your ROM (Nandroid).
Flash through CWM or TWRP. I have not tested with TWRP because I use CWM.
These replace an image in the kernel, so it will have to be re-flashed after every new ROM/kernel installation.
Also, these should be compatible with all versions of the Galaxy SIII that con247's converter supports. Follow the link to his thread to confirm compatibility across carriers (link).

I didn't post it because there are already a couple of threads that have it posted. I found two. One is in the AT&T section, the other is in the Sprint section.
AT&T: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951551
Sprint: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1939672
Both of these should work just fine on out T-Mobile versions since the splash screen builder creator (con247) built and released his splash creator for all versions of the S3. Double check with his thread though just to be sure. It should be linked in the OP.
If you need any other help, feel free to ask.

That's kind of weird. This is supposed to be injected into the kernel. I was under the impression that all kernels no matter what ROM you were using should be able to use this. The only reason I can think of that would make this not work is that they changed how the splash screen is coded into the kernel.
Your best bet on getting this to work would be to ask in the kernel you are using and link to this thread so they know which zips you are trying to flash. I haven't tried an AOSP ROM in a while, but last time I tried CM 10.1 I flashed this and it worked just fine. That was a couple of months ago at least, so I'm not sure if something has changed.
P.S. If you find out what got it working for you I would really appreciate a post in here so I can update the OP.
Looking for someone who can convert these to zips I've tried with no luck.I must be missing something.

You should ask a kernel developer that makes a 4.2.2 kernel. They'll be able to tell you if it's possible or not, since this mod replaces an image in the kernel.

thank you!
When I clicked ''preview'' earlier, it showed me a youtube video of the marvel logo in a boot animation. Was that your work too?
^ Edit: My mistake, it was the watchdogs logo hehe
Very nice !!
But we have to flash it in the recovery or copy the .zip file in system/media ?

Same animation had been already done -
I'm not saying anything bad about you, just let you know, that this thread was made before.

yes,i know.but i talked with Christian about giving me the permission to do it a couple of days before that guy's post with the animation.i just didn't have the time to make it.i've made a little modification to it to look better and to fit the nexus 4 screen like i wanted.yes,it's the same animation but it looks slightly different.
when i have the time maybe i'll do more editing and make it look much better.

Hi,
I saw the preview on youtube and it's cool!
So i download the zip file, put it in system/media but when i restart my phone it still display the original one. Should i move the original boot animation elsewhere so that there's only 1 boot animation in the folder?
Thanks!

There can be only one bootanimation at a time
So rename the old one to bootanimation.zip.bak (this way it won't be deleted)
and rename the new one to bootanimation.zip
wow! looks delight! nice work thanks:good:
looks nice
Anyone running L tried this? It should work right?
