https://play.google.com/store/apps/...EsImNvbS5pZ2xpbnQuYW5kcm9pZC5zY3JlZW5sb2NrIl0.

There are lots of apps like this (and I use Screen Off for a long time), is it necessary to open a topic just for this???
If you want to share all good apps you know, welcome. But for just an app?

Good find bro. Thanks for the share.
OT: just dont mind idiots who discourage other people from sharing in this site. These people somehow think that this forum is just for the "elite"... they've forgotten that the main reason for this forum's success is due to the inputs of ALL.

Seems like a very interesting app to have if your power button is in an awkward place or broken for some reason. I don't find it useful for the Xperia S other than the fact that the phone is slippery as hell (just discovered this today, I never really take off my case and didn't realize how easy it would be to drop the darn thing without a case).

true, there is lots apps like this... but most of them didn't work ....
when you hit , it doesn't give you screen lock, but instead give you blank screen, then goes to screen lock on display ..... ( or if they work, sometimes it's hard when you want to open .. )
trust me, i've try all screen lock app ...
but this app works perfectly, with this you got true screen lock
and you don't have to wearing out that power button, for screen unlock you can try wake up with volume mod ...
Cool app..would've been better if it can wake the screen up as well.
Interesting to see Screen Lock here
Hi friends,
Surprised. :good: This app is created by me , Good to see app info reached XDA before it's developer

Is it possible to get the tube tv effect when I put my screen to sleep on the stock rom?
??
Its called crt animation and not on stock roms! Im sure in time there will be a custom rom that will contain that soon

Try this
There's an app that I used on my TF101. It is a shortcut that locks your screen with a variety of effects:
Screen off and lock
It's free in the Play Store. No root required.
I dont want a custom rom on this phone.

What are you talking about? Did you even try to install the app that I linked to?
Lol
my bad, I meant to reply to tyshemi, not you. I did install that app. It does not work with the power button, and the animation is not as nice..=
The CRT off animation doesn't play well with JB from what I've seen a couple devs say, which is why it isn't even on the custom ROMs, so chances of getting it on a regular phone are slim and none I'd say.

I never said it worked with the power button. It's an icon you can tap; might actually be nicer. But I'm sorry to hear that you don't like it as much!

Thanks for the info. I kind of like the tv static plus crt close.
I have the off button on my screen now. For when I actually remember to use it, vs muscle memory of hitting the physical button.

No problem! Just a word of caution - When I use this in combination with WidgetLocker the unlock doesn't work. I had to turn the screen off with the power button then it worked again. Most likely caused by the way that WidgetLocker is an app and not a system function.
I want to share very good app that we can wake up our screen and turn off automatically without pressing power/volume button..
(so it can save our button)..
It work very well with my Ion..so I think it works well with s/sl/acro s too..

I need to know few things for now please
I have applied screen protector and cover on it .
When i am holding the tablet the touch is responsive and fine, but when i keep it on bed/table and view in landscape mode fixed in the cover . And when i touch or want to slide notification bar from above it becomes very un responsive but then also responds from same spot where i am touching the screen after some touches .
But could it be because of clear screen protector ?! I still think screen is fine as 10 point touch test app works fine , but i feel its a great screen but cheap quality giving such issues and that's the best it can give .
Or some sensors interept while in landscape or google tried to made it too intelligently to use it in right positions manner only? When holding it or should be holding it only while using it . (i dont think so) .
Or is the whole story something else ?!
Other than this, its flawless and i am loving it!
And please do let me know how can i make htc media link dh h200 work on it please ?!
Would highly appreciate the help on this please!

The touchscreen issues are a well known problem with the N7. Luckily there is a way to fix it. I just got around to it 5 minutes ago and all my touchscreen issues are gone. Refer to this thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428133

thanks I went thru that thread, but I don't want to unlock or root this as its just 1 day old and I might not ever want to unlock as its all amazing , and its practically fine.... as there is no ghost touch issues,etc.. its just that it wants me to use more of my thumb in landscape on this cover : http://postimg.org/image/k1jn5arkv/ (and when I am not holding the tablet) than my first finger if I want to slide down notifications bar or right side bar ... hope they'll fix it in future anyways ....
But please answer and help me regarding dg h200 media link ??

There is no way to fix it without unlocking. Seeing as this is a developer forum, you can expect most solutions to require unlocking and/or rooting. I would suggest at least unlocking now so if you decide you want to root in the future you won't have to wipe a fully set up tablet. It's super simple- "fastboot oem unlock" and you're done.
I don't know anything about the media link.
Hi guys, when i bought my oppo find 7a 1 month ago, i was searching for some tips and tricks on youtube and found out that you basically never have to touch the power button to lock or unlock the phone. Just double tap anywhere on the screen to unlock and double tap the home button to lock. This simple tip makes it so easy and quick to lock/unlock faster (really helpfull since it's a big phone).
Maybe you will find it weird, but it makes me love the phone so much more just because of that. I don't know if other phones does that? I am so used to this tip now that i always double tap as a reflex when i use my friend's phone from other brands and then realise that it doesn't work.
If you didn't know this trick, maybe it will feel weird for a some times to develop this reflex of double taping, but try it and you'll love it after some time.
I guess that nobody reads instructions manuals anymore...

Welcome to the forum. Did you also know that drawing a circle on the screen while the screen is off will launch the camera, drawing the letter 'v' will toggle the flashlight on/off
By going in to settings then about phone and tapping on android version 5 times in a row will bring up a cool secret easter egg from Google
Hi
I bought a HTC One M8 (Android 5.0.1) about 5 months ago . I rooted it some weeks ago only with hope adding these features :
1 - Knock Knock to lock (similar to LG G3)
2 - Horizontal app drawer instead of vertically one just like majority of Smartphones (HTC tech agents said they added this feature to m9 . Do you can port it ?)
3 - Original knock code locking method with a deep and basic solution (kernel manipulation or high-deeper way than it) .
4 - ...
Developer guys , please help me to achieve them . Important stuff for me is the reason . Why we can't add LG knock2sleep in the same way to other rooted device ? what the main thing G3 has and other not ? custom Kernels can't do these for us ? please explain the primary reason for this disability .
Thanks very much .
No help ?
Hello ?!
I think HTC One developer hasn't seen my post yet , How can I inform them ? guys please (if it's a legal stuff) Re-post my topic at "HTC android Development forum" . Maybe my thread can find lot answers there ! Knock_code and horizontal app drawer (into sense) are very important for me . MohammadAG (owner of knock code module) never say sth about android L supporting . Another DEVELOPER can do that (of course with donate) ?
Is really my question so hard ?! Here is XDA forums . I wonder ..
No you can't open a thread in the development section with these questions. The development section is for threads that offer something that is "developed" by a developer/member. That's why they have the Q&A section. Your post is at place here.
Only 1 day has past and already worried. It's not a paid help desk you know !
And if you would have taken the time to dig in he rom dev section and actually read some of the opening posts of different roms you would have encountered the tweak "prism landscape" ! And knock lock ..... same as double tap the screen to wake up the screen ? That's old news. Double tap to wake (DT2W) or sweep navbar buttons to sleep is old too.
So flash a custom rom that supports it and have fun

Hi
yeah , you right . This isn't a paid answer desk !
What's Prism landscape ? and how can help me ? I use stock rom with TWRP recovery and ElementalX-m8 custom kernel . but there's some points ..
1 - M8 stock rom has a very good DT2W (do u knew?) . I want DT2S actually . LG G3 has both . Double tap 2 sleep/wake . But why m8 can't has them together ? Why we must use sweep2sleep instead of DT2S ? where/whats is the main problem we must use sweep and can't use double tap ?
2 - I'm looking for "knock code" not knock knock . Knock code as you know is a unlocking method for lockscreen that you tap about 8 tap to open your phone . can you give me a link about Knock code on m8 ? Indeed , do you have a m8 dev friend that indroduce my thread to him for helping ?
I got the Prism landscape proficiency . But as you know I want a very deep solution and an explained answer for our disability to adding those features to m8 . I'm not looking for a perfunctorily solution !!
You're talking about something like app called Max lock, don't you????

Why don't you just buy an LG or learn how to do it yourself. Oh and why is double tap to sleep so important to you? What is wrong with sweep to sleep? Why not get a dot view case then you don't need any of them.

No I don't . I looking for a specific Thing . Knock code feature (simillar to G3) . though some app on play store methinks can do that but all of them are APP !! and incomplete and disable ! I want a deeper way . Like kernels and ROMs feature . Please read posts first ...
Definition :
Knock Code lets you create a series of taps that will wake up and unlock your phone, bypassing the lock screen completely. Without the right pattern, the phone remains locked just like you had chosen a PIN or pattern lock. When you first see Knock Code .
You can use a combination of three to eight taps, set on to a 2×2 grid. It’s somewhat like keying in a PIN onto a numeric keypad, but without the numbers. And of course, the main advantage here is that the knock combination can be as small or as big as you want it to be, although you might have to run into trial-and-error when doing the taps on a smaller area.

The m8 already does that. Try it.
"It's fast and beautiful , no?"
Well not really as I fill my home screen, I know you can double tap the status bar but to me it's easier to s2s as my thumbs generally stay in the lower half of the screen. And if you want fast try the dot view, open the case and the screen is on (bypassing the lock screen) close the case and the device goes to sleep.
Most of the problem is modifying the kernel, Flar2 has had many problems with the motion launch gestures.
You could ask but I would have thought that it would have been done by now if it was easy.
Who is this developer you keep mentioning?
Again, why don't you learn and do it yourself?
