IM currently downloading that MOAR ROM and also making a Nandroid of my current ROM. Im wondering if anybody has tried this ROM on a Sprint GS3 since every ROM that Ive ever tried which includes Multi-Window has not allowed my DATA or 4G to work AT ALL!!!!!
I would hate to go through the trouble of backing up and installing a new ROM just to find out that my data wont work.
Im hoping anybody can tell me whether this ROM actually works on a Sprint GS3 and confirm 4G runs as it should. Any replies would help Thank in advance.
It works just fine
...if you're having those issues then somethings wrong with what you're doing, not the roms, or else no one would download any of 'em
Whats your wiping procedure?
You have your network settings correct, lte/cdma/evdo. Also what baseband version are you on mb1? There is definitely something happening with the user and not the ROMs, what ROMs have you tried?

Hi all, I am again posting about having radio issues. (NO T-Mobile signal) Any 4.2 Rom I try to install, I am unable to obtain phone service. (signal)
Here is what I did:
1. Start from scratch, total erased phone and sd card and micro card.
2. Odin flash stock Rom and Odin flash latest TWRP
3. Copy Rom to SD card and flash. (flash is fine)
4. No signal, flashed newest UVM6 radio, all kind of wipes.
My phone is SGH-T989 T-Mobile. I even changed the APN, but still only pick up AT&T which still having no signal bars. I tried flashing all radios available with no help at all. I am able to use certain 4.1.2 Roms such as Infamous 3. I even tried different kernels, different wipes and just can not get any T-Mobile signal service. I have tried searching for any and all radio issues for this phone. NOTHING works for me. Can anyone or does anyone have same problem that came up with a solution to get a signal for T-Mobile for these Roms? I am currently using the Infamous 3 Rom using Arc kernel. Actually the only other Rom I can use it the stock deodexed rooted base. Very frustrated not being able to use these great looking Roms, HELP please! Thanks for any information or solution. BTW, I have tried everthing and every type of wipe to no avail.
do you still have your IMEI or does it shows blank and unknown ??
I am having the same issue. It does show my imei # though. How do I fix this?

Oh boy.....again.
K....here is about everything. If none of this is your problem, since you say you've checked everything....and yes, I have read your other thread....in which you repeatedly say you tried everything, then you have a hardware issue, or are simply doing something wrong and telling us you did it right.
Not getting a signal.....
- not using latest T-Mobile or Telus radio. Maybe you flashed it, but is it actually showing as that radio in settings??
- APN settings are wrong or don't exist. Lets pause here. You said you checked apn and only pick up at&t. Or am I misreading that. If you don't have the correct T-Mobile apn settings, then you wont get a signal or data. Period. This has to be correct before bothering with anything else. You said you checked. Against what?? I've seen plenty of apn settings when Googling it, some simply don't work. Maybe they are old settings, wrong phone, whatever. I'm Telus, so can't help you with the settings for T-Mobile.
- what has already been posted above needs to be correct.
- maybe radio file you flashed was wrong one or corrupt. Perhaps try the Telus one. Should work too. Since T-Mobile radio works on Telus.
- restoring any system data after a flash? Huge no no.
- wrong mobile band selected?
- and a possibility .....simply no signal where you are. Or it's a weak signal, and your assuming it doesn't work?? Ignore this if you have a very strong signal usually where you live. 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 shouldn't affect signal much if any.
Anyway.....that's about all there is to it if you are CLEAN flashing roms and following instructions to the letter. I am confident you will say all the above is good....and if so....I am afraid you will probably find no answers like your other thread. Meaning you have an extremely rare issue. Or a wierd hardware issue, sim card maybe....tho before you dismissed that as a cause. Another possibility is that you aren't correct when you say apn is fine, or the radio you flashed is fine. Not accusing you of misleading anyone, just saying perhaps you are innocently wrong when you tell us this or that is fine when it is not.. I've done tech support.....happens all the time! !!
So, good luck. Hope you find a solution ......tho this is your second thread on same issue....so you may have some rare issue....and may be boned.

I have been dealing with this problem for weeks, and I can almost guarantee you don't have the radio right and that's the problem. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2385987.
Here is the link to a radio I just flashed literally 5 minutes ago and started running 4.2 roms after weeks of struggle and frustration.

That would certainly make sense!
He's got something wrong for sure. Or he's got a strange phone that won't work with 4.2. And I doubt that very much.
He's got wrong radio, or wrong or missing APN settings.
Or wrong phone, sim or carrier.

Well he says he's got the Hercules, it's the exact same phone I'm using I think, I hope he gets on and checks the link out, cuz it worked first try for me, I hope to share the satisfaction of solving this very frustrating problem.

Thanks for helping and I think your right about being boned or hardware issue. I have tried different downloads of radios, both Telius and Tmobile and copied APN settings from working stock Rom. Maybe bad Sim, anyway I will have to stay with what I have until I get new phone, which is soon. Thanks again!
Stumbled across this. I've never heard of this particular issue before, but sure sounds the same as your issue. Try this fix if you haven't already.
Everything below is copied from another thread......
i had this problem with slim too. i thought something went wrong with my phone or my area. but nope. what you need to do is go to mikeyman777 cm10.1 thread and find the uvmc6 tar file, then use odin to flash it. apparently just flashing the newest radio with twrp isn't enough because it's missing some files or something like that lol.
anyways i haven't had signal problems since flashing radio tar file. i've lost signal like once. before i was losing it everyday. hope this helps.

My phone has been acting weird ever since I got my power button replaced a while back. So anyway my problem is that my phone will show that it has like five bars and then just drop to zero bars/no signal. I've tried different radios, stock gingerbread and stock jellybean. I'm currently running cm11 after I came from stock jellybean. I've tried a new sim card no difference. Any suggestions is my radio going bad?

Need more details. What ROM or stock android version are you on. What radio installed.
And did you check your apn settings??

Old but if it helps in any way, it may be the sim card /sd card board, u may have to replace it.
Not ROM specific either. Im currently going to look for a TW rom and try and update profile and prl and see if that helps but im not sure WTF happened. Was working fine last night and then suddenly none of the roms show any 4G at all
yes my baseband is ND8
edit: this is a CM11 issue because I have LTE on TW roms so im trying to fix the issue
Could it be a apn problem?
OK,
I have a Bell SGH-i317M - Right now on Slimfast 4.4 with TWRP and SU 2 .
I am having several issues.
1. I have flashed the AWS mod to this phone. On the Slimfast 4.4... now I am pretty sure the mod is independent of the ROM, because I reflashed the Slimfast 4.4 and I still have my AWS bands... but..
I can only make one call with the phone - then the phone does not work .. I have to reboot to use the phone again????
2. If I go into settings and try and change some .. like sound (ringtones) I get a Unfortunately, Multimedia UI Service Layer has stopped. Nothing I can do.. reboot does not help.. I cannot add a ringtone.
in music - if I try and back out to the track listing it will say I need to force close music..
Maybe I should be asking this in Slimfast 4.4 but is this an issue with the ROM??
I need a phone that works and with AWS bands.. can I flash the factory 4.4 update from a month ago.. root and put cwr or twrp on it?? is it that simple?
bump
did try another rom??

Not yet, I am also having the SU root issue where I get the "no su binary installed" and Unfortunately SuperSU has stopped. (GOT THIS FIXED)
SO for someone who has been on XDA from 2009 .. I am not comfortable with this phone. Seems like a lot of options and more than a few ways to brick the phone.

OK, so I have done more reading.
I have figured out.
I am on a MK5 bookloader 4.3 - not sure if thats good or bad.. but thats what I have.
I am on Slimfast 4.4 - which does not seem to be developed anymore.. I am liking just about everything.
BUT - I am having issues with the radio?? I guess?? in android info its saying radio unknown. When I dial out.. the first call I make.. np.. works like a charm.. incoming works great.. but 2nd call I make the microphone not work.. calls.. connnects.. but they cant hear me.. and I cant hear them.
?????
Also multimedia applications crash.. I get an app error, or I get a multimedia layer crashed error.. Either way.. Music ringtones etc.. crashes.
Anyone??

ok, thanks for the reply, and I just want to be clear. I use TWRP... and I went to the WIPE section and checked everything (is this what you mean by internal?) and reinstalled slimfast v4-4
That is what I have now.. these issues with the phone and the multimedia apps. (complete wipe and reinstall - re rooted the phone)
Now if I am not mistaken the radio is the term for the part that allows telephone conversation right? Buildinfos in andriod info gives radio unknown?? in the past I was not able to modify this on its own? now? Unknown does not sound right.
I have not found in the slimfast v4-4 anyone complaining about these issues. I have also not found any info on the kernel I am using. ON my LG in the about phone the kernel information was clear as to who's modded kernel I was running.
thanks
James
EDIT - going to wipe again.. as I found more options in wipe and I did not do a FULL internal storage wipe.
Edit 2 - did do a COMPLETE wipe with advanced options - same issues. Going to try LiquidSmooth ROM
ok, I did install liquid smooth.. and that didnt do it for me.
Now I tried to flash an older stock rom, and it failed, but after I flahed slimfast 4.4. back .. I had a different baseband. LJ2 now.. so 4.1 jb...
Now the phone works.. so this tells me that baseband can effect it. I did have 4.3 MK5.. should I go up to the 4.4 baseband??
No joy on multimedia apps though.. they are still crashing.

Try the newest modem. Also in twrp under wipe try the format data option. That got me out of a huge pickle once.

Hi,
I have an i317M from Bell that I had enable the AWS band. I am using the phone on Wind and everything works great. However, I do find the signal reception is not as good as my old phone. I am currently on Baseband Version I317MVLUDNH2. Just wonder what is the latest modem that you flash and where can I find it? I am assuming you are using the new modem on Wind as well.
Thanks,
