[ROM][JB][4.2.2] AOKP - geeb CDN *unofficial* [09.19.2013] - LG Optimus G (International)

So I figured to try my hand at building a more well known rom, AOKP it is.
This is a very current and stable running build of AOKP including the new "Dark AOKP" theme build from source, using linaro toolchain.
I used Haze028's guide along with great help from chadouming (you're the man!) for device/vendor/smoocha kernel work.
To have proper notification led's please stick with smoocha kernel included in rom.
Sources will be uploaded soon, I have a very slow upload from home.
Its built and tweaked for Canadian E971-E973 should work on AT&T with your own apn.
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
As far as I know, everything is working, I tested all main functions as best I can but I'm sure someone will find something that's not working.
If you do, let me know about it here and I'll try to fix it.
Thanks to everyone I mentioned and anyone I forgot who helped along the way!
P.S If you're running my CarbonDev, or CM10.1 or Houstonns AOKP/CM/PA, you can install this without KDZ'ing, just wipe data/factory reset/dalvik and install.
I setup a "tweaks" (look for "kerneltweaks" file in /system/etc/init.d) file for colour settings and for setting your own governor and io scheduler at boot.
V8 Changes:
MHL support is finally in, sorry for the long delay!
DanceDance and Smartmax governors added.
I left my kerneltweak settings in place because they are extremely sane defaults.
If you want to change them, just edit the kerneltweaks file in /system/etc/init.d however I would highly recommend just leaving it as is.
Last build before AOKP 4.3 (unless there are any showstoppers in this build). Download the Mms pic resizing if you already installed V8 as of September 20, 2013. From the 21st of September on, the fix is including in V8.

Download CWM recovery that I personally use:

Download chadoumings gapps without Talk (Hangouts replaced) here

Thanks for this, due to work/family I haven't been able to do any building in well over a month. I was hoping to see another AOKP I could run until I get to playing around again.
Nice work sir!

Thank you for the great guide!!
Otherwise I wouldn't have even bothered trying.
Hope it works well for you, please let me know what you think after some use!

Installed this, running great!

Any updates folks?
I'll start it off with I'm not entirely happy with the extremely long delay between notification LED blips.
I'm looking into that...
Anyone care to report how battery life is for them?

So far so good.
battery life seems as good as stock to me. Of course this is always subjective. I have locations disabled, nfc disabled, data disabled.
Bluetooth is awesome-ish
There is the led notification delay, Such a non-annoyance for me, don't care much about that. Cheers:highfive
deep sleep is acheived (once all the aforementioned are disabled), Am Happy customer!

Best aosp ROM I tried and I've tried almost all. Thanks !

Can you give me as much details as possible, phone model, factory reset before install, any settings/tweaks/undervolting/governor/scheduler etc?
I have yet to see one reboot so far after a week of usage.

That's dirty flashing for you. Wipe dalvik Cache

I love assumptions.
There is no dirty flash, this is a complete wipe, phone was PERFECTLY stable for 24 hours, rogers e971, stock kernel and governer settings.
All of a sudden today i went to check my phone and noticed it was on boot animaiton, when it turned back on widgets were all forgotten & acor and media kept crashing, this happened twice now ihave tried 2 clean flashes same result. very strange... Also I notice the aokp installer persistance doesnt work, i had it on, but now i have clean flashed again and disabled it incase it is related.

I would suggest keeping an eye on what apps you install then (are you restoring apps from a backup perhaps?) as I run this on two E971 Rogers phones for one week, mine and my wifes...believe me I'd have heard about this from her by now!
Maybe provide a list of apps/widgets because I'm fairly certain the rom is solid from my own lengthy testing.
I don't compile and release, I compile, use extensively, then release.
As for the aokp backup/restore I'll look into it. I personally don't trust any backup/restore of any kind so that's definitely one feature I didn't try.

That's internet for you. Sorry about that. My mistake. It only happens to me when I dirty flash. Or, coming from a rom that us not compiled the same way. Latest cm, for example. When it does happen, I found only one solution : titanium, then kdz... Best,

possible solutions:

1-mediaprovider
2-wipe download cache
3-if it happens on a specific app, wipe cache from that app in app info.
4-Google currents or dolphin browser hd - remove, see if it helps
5-wipe cache from media storage app.

First, this ROM is more than just a placeholder before ICS arrive! Finally a custom ROM for the Bell P930 and also LU6200.
I just flashed it without problems on my LU6200 and now i know what fast means on this phone. Very nice work, thank you!
Did need a patch for Wifi, but this was also the case with the original Bell ROM on my LU6200.
Looks very good and i will start to restore my titanium backup now, have the feeling i will stick with this ROM for a long while.
Will report later, how it works on long term.
Maybe this thread could also be linked in the LU6200 section, since the ROM can also switched to chinese language so the chinese LU6200-owners would also be interested.
Keep up the good work!
thanks HO!NO!
just flashed on att lg nitro, it works great!
you can also select 3G or LTE mode! nice!
Alright, lying in bed now enjoying this great ROM. Titanium batch restore went well and all is working great so far. Performance is still impressive and I like the bootscreen and Interface (also it boots quickly). Will check how the battery is holding up tomorrow.
Well done Mr.Ho!No!

Found some problems, 2 already fixed.
1. If I go in display -> screen optimization the window "process com.android settings closed unexpectedly" pops up. Can't use screen optimization right now.
2. Sometimes also an error with Google maps appears. (Force close-error).
3. Had problems with alarm-clock too, but deleted it with nobloat and after that recovered it, works fine now.
Unfortunately it didn't work with Settings, I tried.
Any suggestions?

[ROM]|Purely AOSP|JB|Simple, Stock, Stable and Bugless

Purely AOSP is a redistribution of the Android Open Source Project code that I have lightly modified, and cleaned up enough to make as a daily driver for those people who are like myself and want a clean pure android experience. This project won't focus on adding features and mods but instead focus on stability and fixing some of the small issues left over from the AOSP project, so yes this is a CLEAN ROM my only modifications will be to make it look more polished and complete.
I barely ever use the "Google" experience so GOOGLE APPS ARE NOT INCLUDED AND NOT SUPPORTED meaning that if you flash this ROM the base is stable and very bug free and since there are a few different versions of Google Apps floating around once you flash one of them and run into an issue I CANNOT HELP OR RESOLVE the issue YOU WILL HAVE TO CONTACT THE CREATOR OF THE GAPPS package that you use or turn to the community for help, BUT GOOGLE APPS DO WORK with this ROM ........
Lastly the ROM is "pre-rooted" using SuperSU if you do not want root you can remove SuperSU by going into its settings and selecting "Full unroot" this will delete the SuperSU apk from system completely removing root.
What Works:
Everything !!!!
Whats Broke:
Nothing !!!!!
If you have an error or something pops up I ask that before you post about it please make sure that you are running the ROM as provided. I cannot troubleshoot anything that is related to using other kernels, mods, google apps, or themes.
This ROM is basically a AOSP stock build of jelly bean so there is not a need for screen shots ........
ROM: 8-5-12

2. flash g-apps if desired
Always remember that XDA started out as a great place and will remain a great place as long as we are great to each other anything used in this ROM is available upon request and feel free to use this as a base rom for any other project my ROM is un-branded just give me some mention .......

CREDITS:
Shabby Penguin - he was there for me when I needed some help
Team-EOS - I could be wrong but I believe they are behind the stable G-APPS Packets that everybody uses
CyanogenMod Team - I used a piece of their code for my "Rico" launcher project (the "no wallpaper" coding)
Chainfire - The ROM contains his SuperSU root method
Google - I used there bootanimation

It didn't feel right to continue the old thread when the OP and the maintainers are basically gone... so here's a better thread where people will most likely feel more comfortable with the OP talking about changes to the thread.. LOL
Second note, I added TWRP, fixed the compilation issue I was having, doesn't seem to have effected anything (make_ext4fs stuff) so ya. Hopefully I can get goo all situated for the goodies.
Thanks in advance guys.
Very cool!
Great name by the way
Great to see more people contributing, even if it is legacy... I agree, great name choice

First page awesome.I'm going to try this out now.
thank you for the old man! !lol! !but at least it has good hearing! yay something fresh today, did i miss the download link?

I have an emergency at work actually right now, raid array going down.
When I get time I'll put up the download on goo, sorry for the inconvienance. I can upload the twrp2.5 kernel if you want it for now. You can use any of the older roms, reading railroad was the last one I did.
The 20130603 file on goo probably won't work, the image was being built as the work server raid started to break up, I got binary errors trying to flash it even though the zip is fine /shrug
Uploading now, seems like there was a recent update to change the update-binary, swapped it out with a working zip and blamo. :good:
Added into download links on 2nd post. Enjoy guys
Wow.. How nice....

Sweet!
I plan on baking my tweak app tweaks into the rom,
I'm honestly not sure anything else really needs to be added in, battery life has always been great on this build and I don't see how to improve too much else besides some mount tricks.
Let me know if there's anything obviously wrong, I've been trying to get help on that camera that doesn't really provide any feedback as to why its breaking... but not a lot of actual kernel level dudes to talk to.
I actually prefer CM9 over CM10 just because of the lockscreen widgets, Thanks bud! Downloading..

It's cm9, with supersu instead of that broken super user and the file manager from cm10 back ported.
Awesome man. I stopped using cm9 because it was not being updated anymore. Nice to see it back. Thanks man!
Been running the 0604 build all day and its smooth. Using the beta 3 tweaks too.. front facing camera is a hit or miss. I got it to work a few times by changing the exposure to +2 then taking the picture. It worked a few times , then forced closed a couple times then worked again. Also when charging while the phones off I don't get the red-charging blue-finished lights. But other than that its a daily driver for me.. thanks again h.c.

[ROM] [4.3] CM-10.2 Unofficial Builds by CPCookieMan WITH Focal Camera!

Wow, it has been a LONG time since I've posted to XDA. I just wanted to let anybody who is interested know that I am building CM-10.2 for the toro, so this should be a pretty informal post. It isn't built nightly, but may be in the future. Currently, it's built on my want to update my own phone, which is really something like every week, or when a cool new feature is pushed. I've been building 10.1 for a few months now, but I figure enough people are building it that you guys wouldn't need my builds. At the moment though, CM-10.2 builds are scarce, so I offer up mine to anyone who wants them. They're automatically uploaded to my server anyway by way of script, which also happens to reside in the same folder if you'd like to take a look.
Focal is present in build 2 for today! It's up on the server, get it now! And, because I'm generous, the apk can also be found here. Focal.apk - 10.76 MB
I have made a couple of tweaks to the vanilla source code, namely to the Messaging and Phone apps. They just have a few string tweaks that I enjoy.
BUT you try this at your own risk! Somehow I managed to mess up the userdata partition by using CM-10.2 and had to wipe my SD card. I haven't had any problems since, but just know that I've warned you this may happen before trying.
A copy of the 4.3 GAPPS, the latest build, and the MD5 hash for said build can all be found here.
If you see an empty file called ToroBuildInProgress, it's building. I wouldn't download while it's building, as it automatically removes the previous build when it's done. Give it a bit. If after about an hour it's still like that, shoot me an email and I can see what's up.
I am not very active on here. If you'd like to contact me for any reason, bring issues to my attention, whatever, you can email me.
Common Fixes
To get root for apps like Titanium Backup:
Enable developer settings by tapping rapidly on the build number in About Phone
In developer settings, enable root for apps and adb, and then turn usb debugging on.
Code:
#include
/*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear
* war, or the current economic crisis caused by you following these
* directions. YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and
* if you point your finger at me for messing up your device, I will
* laugh at you.
*/
Hey thanks, man. It's nice to see all of these different builds popping up. I've started getting a build environment set up so I can build CM myself.

I don't use Titanium, but I did check with terminal emulator, and CyanogenMod has included superuser. You just have to go into developer options and allow apps to use superuser. I did not need to flash supersu (and actually, I'm not even sure that supersu works on 4.3). Also, where was it sent from?
SuperSU isn't needed in any of the other unofficials, the same method you outlined works for root. The problem people are having is TiBu will hang up restoring users' apps/data and just won't go. Some have reported success by using SuperSU afterward, and some by changing the file folder it gets the apps from. I've used both Euroskank and the other build and none of those things have worked on my device. After futzing with it all day I decided to just restore my cm10.1 nandroid for the time being. I'll definitely be watching this thread though, already have it downloaded. Thanks!!

That may have something to do with the fact that they changed the way partitions mount on 4.3 if Titanium works on a low level. I never liked it much, so I don't use it. No problems here.
At any rate, you might as well delete the local copy unless you're going to try it today, as this will most likely be updated quite frequently.

Is SMS send/receive working in this build? Any known bugs?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4 Beta
There is a video on YouTube on how to get titanium backup to work. I saw it in one of the threads. I'm sorry I don't have the link. It does work though. I used when I first switched to 4.3.
For TiBu fix
Go: menu > preferences > backup folder location
Click: Detect > Whole Device
Change location to "/storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup"
(if you have no backups saved to SD, hit Back nav key until you can select this directory manually)
IF asked if you'd like to move files to new directory, select NO
[edit] on TiBu's Twitter they released a beta which supposedly fixes inability to uninstall apps via TiBu, but I haven't tested this

SMS and MMS have been working just fine for me in the couple hours that I've been using this.
Woah, already a new version is being built and pushed to the servers! Yes, I just had to build again because in the past hour or so, the new camera app, Focal, was pushed. So, this will be the first ROM for the Galaxy Nexus to include Focal, and if my computer is fast enough, possibly the first for any device.
Woot woot!

Possibly nothing. I have my own mods, my own codebase. And because my build script automatically publishes to my server, I figured I'd share the link. Although, I'm now uploading Focal.apk to DevHost because my server is getting raped with traffic.
Also, first with Focal.

It's a P4 desktop from 2004 that I'm running out of my basement. And yeah, the internet is really getting slammed right now. Cool, I've never done that before.
Just reporting that Focal.apk seems to work just fine on 4.2.2 (it's awesome). Just playing around with it while I wait for your build to download.....7 hours to go

[ROM] [VECTUS] GN5 Project AOSP [V0.0] 4.4.2 (03-22-2014)

This is meant for the Sprint LG G2 (LS980)
Ok I don't have a fancy Name folks... So GN5 Project will suffice... This is just a little hobby rom I use. It's based on CM and designed to mimick the Nexus 5. So KISS is the word (keep it simple AND stupid). This rom is not fancy at all... It's vanilla actually. But thats for a reason... So YOU the user can add what you like and take away... Make it YOUR kitkat if you will... Click the screenshots button at the top for screenshots...
What's in this (v0.0)
Furnace Kernel -1.8.0 for AOSP (BIG thanks to Savoca!!!)
Stock Google (No MMS app, No Browser it uses Chrome and Hangouts like the N5)
Based on CM, it has all CM parts. IE all issues CM has
VTWEAKS. For example (naming a few and not all):
Wifi Scan Interval 240
My touchscreen sensitivity Mod
Window Max Events 300
Lots of init.d Tweaks (some not all):
SD Card speed 7168
Zipalign on Boot
Battery Calibration
Zipalign Data
Sqlite Optimized
Smoothness Tweaks[/HIDE]
Apps Included:
All google Apps
Google Wallet
Xposed for Kitkat (Thanks rovo980!)
NO SMS/MMS app (download what you want or use Hangouts or may I suggest 8sms?)
Kingsoft Office
Facebook
CM File Manager
N0-Frills CPU control
Screen Off
Torch
Sprint Voicemail (I'll include this later but pull the one from a stock rom and install as a regular app and it will work...) SEE 2nd POST
Playstore
Google Launcher
SolCalendar
Has N5 Alarms, Notifications, Ringtones, and Bootanimation
TRICK you may want to use: I don't use the included Kitkat Launcher. I use Apex (download it from the market). I activate screen off. In Apex I click behavior settings. Go to desktop double tap and click it. Click Launch App. Find Screen Off and click it. Hit OK. You can now double tap the screen in and turn the screen off!!! Inspire Launcher (an actual Kitkat Launcher has this same setting. Find Inspire in the Playstore).
NOTE: I don't have an agreement with Google therefore I don't need to use Gapps (the playstore is included)
How to flash:
First time installing to your LS980, or coming from another ROM:
- If you use a recovery OTHER than TWRP based. I can't help you (this rom will boot on ALL modems AND ZVA).
- Download the Rom
- Copy the rom ZIP to your SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Click Wipe
- Click Advanced Wipe
- Click Dalvik Cache, System, Data, and Cache
- Swipe to Wipe
- Got to Install
- Navigate to where you stored the Rom
- Click the Rom
- Swipe to confirm Flash
- Once complete REBOOT
That is all you need to do
- Don't restore system data using Titanium Backup!
- Restoring Apps + Data might cause problems and is not recommended, avoid it if possible!
Thanks:

ROM DOWNLOAD
FIX for Chrome lockup:
If you suffer Chrome lock up or strange Chrome behavior navigate to system/etc and delete the sysctl.conf file. And reboot. It will not have any adverse effects on the rom. Somehow I threw that file in there and its not needed... Thats why we don't develop while drinking beer folks lol.
SPARK FIX. I don't know if anyone else has suffered this but here is how I fixed it. After coming from a AOSP based rom I could NOT get Spark/LTE to work on a stock rom. I fixed this issue by using ##3282# (Hidden settings) and disabling band 41. The phone will then reboot. I then had LTE. I then used ##3282# again and went in and re-enabled band 41. The phone rebooted and my Spark AND Lte was working again. Please NOTE that you must be on a stock rom and you will need to have your MSL. Go HERE to get them. BIG thanks to chris0160 for posting them!
