Hello to everyone,
I have just bought this phone and so far I am very satisfied except one BIG thing,
I have a lot problems with mobile data.Practically I cannot use phone to surf the internet, read newspapers and other staff.
When I switch to WI-FI everything work perfect.
Also when I test data connection via "speed test" I get very good results. In average is 10 Mbit in download an 1.5 Mbit in upload. So there should not be any problems. Also sometimes apps like "google play" or similar are telling me to check my internet connection.
For testing purposes I have disabled all option that can "slow" mobile data. Settings ---> sim card manager ---> I have disabled "receive incoming calls" and "dual sim always on" .
After all that I just cannot surf the internet normal!
Anyone have that kind off issue?
Please help!
I also face the same issue. I am using stock rom with BSNL postpaid.
When I use samsung galaxy s plus, 3G data works fine. But in grand duos with same sim & at same location, 3G is sluggish & frequently disconnects.
This has been happening since the day one, though rom got updated thrice.

I had issues in 3G connectivity in stock ROM which were solved by flashing CM 10.1 and balliboxer's ROM
I was getting speeds like 1kbps in stock ROM due to some unknown reason

3G Issue
I have exactly the same problem with a detail: I have bought my Grand Duos in USA and I am using it in Brazil. Anyone could solve this problem installing a new ROM or in other way?

Is anyone else facing same problem?

My only network connectivity is 3G..it gives awesome speed in idea Network.. Bsnl really sucks in 2G as well as in 3G...
Sent from my GT-I9082
I deleted the setting sent by bsnl & created a new default profile & renamed it as bsnlnet.
Now 3G is bearable but nowhere near Samsung galaxy S Plus

Apps like opera, dolphin, and other browsers works fine... Play store, palringo and other chat apps says network connection error.... They seem to only recognise the first sim network connection.... But now since I'm unable to connect Internet through first sim it's sort of impossible to connect to those apps.... And u use Vodafone but it's not that because u tried with idea and bsnl too
And I don't understand why network auto disables after seconds of connection..... Should I try unrooting the phone??
Is your csc matched to your region? Sometimes there csc settings that are region specific and one of them is the modem settings.

Which firmware version are you using try flashing stock firmware once
Before that do this but I dont this will help you anyway give a try its free
Check you have set proper time & date
Disable & re enable data & try again
One more did you used any application after rooting to disable/limit/firewall or any type of application which deals with internet connection??? If yes which?

OK thank-you let me try them... And although I have installed juice defender plus which could be the only one app that can interfere with network connection I have disabled automatic enable and disable in its settings so it couldn't be it and no other app is installed that could interfere with network settings

Does juice defender has permission blocking for other
This works like firewall revoking or not allowing certain permissions todo what they say like improving battery backup , performance bla bla bla
I don't use any battery improver app cause what they say they do we can do better + they eat battery keep running in background
If you follow some simple steps like set wifi setting to turn of when no data is being transmitted
Setting network schedule for nightmode so it will go offline if cell is not used for 30m in night & will work as usual for day there are many grab/google them

In 4.2.2 there is option but you need to toggle every now and then or apps like power schedule ,schemes
They do it better way
I mostly use inbuilt option as long as possible rather using apps

I got a nexus from ebay the seller was from HK, i recieved the phone and everything works except for calls/texts. The phone just doesnt get the signal on the notification bar it always has a small x showing no service. Few strange things happened when i tried experimenting. I checked out all the forums and all possible solutions with no help.
When i insert a sim card and enter a APN there is still no network but i get internet from the sim card( i am sure im not connected to wifi). I get my whatsapp msgs but as i get my msgs the signal bar still shows there is no coverage.
Also when i put phone on airplane mode, in the lockscreen it says my networks name(airtel) and when i check my status it shows that there is some signal strength but im unable to make calls or texts or use stable internet.
I tried changing the baseband, tried all the global basebands with no luck.i flashed to 4.0.4 from googles official site too.
When i search for networks manually it shows my network along with a bunch of others but when i try connecting it fails.
Im attaching few screenshots of what i explained above, please help me out.
Thanks you.

I am also having the same issue all of a sudden. For me only Vodafone sim is not working here in mumbai. Airtel is working in my gnex. So the only option for me is to port my number to airtel. You can also try using sim cards of different network provider. Also try to use cwm recovery 6.0.3.5. Because the latest cwm recovery also causes some problem with the network( thats what i read in some forum).
If you get any solution kindly share with us.

Try other sim cards of different network providers and check which one works for you. If you find a working one the only option you will have will be to port your number to that provider or buy a new Sim. I am also planning to do the same

You made a thread for this already
I'm using RR KK official by @xenon92 v.5.0.5 .
I having problem with my internet connection since using this custom rom.
The connection for data is unstable (often lost data connection) and can't reach to maximal speed.
I detect this problem because I didnt have this problem when i using stock rom.
I already Contact the operator and no internet or network issue.
I hope in this forum can solve this problem..

such things happen and you should put this bug in the rom's thread so in next build the dev might surely fix it

Is it happening only with RR? Have you tried using any other cm based ROMs. Is it the same.
I too have experienced this. i.e. connection becomes idle after sometime. But i thought its problem with the operator.

Yeahh, I already solved this problem with 'Phone Info' app and I set preferred network type to WCDMA only.
Because on this ROM we can't set the network to WCDMA only.
Now, my internet connection is more stable. But I still have issue with internet connection cant reach to highest internet speed on mobile network.
Thx all for your response and trying to help.. :good:

Why don't you try to select the network manually, here we choose 2G or 3G network manually. Settings >> More settings >> Mobile networks >> Network operators - Search network. If 3G available in your area you may select one. Have you checked that, if your service provider has 3G or LTE in your area.

thought i cant downgrade to 4.1.1 like him and find the exact radios
