I have mixed result, half and half. Some people get it others don't .also it don't matter what service or phone you have as others have had different results. I have the galaxy S4 on T-Mobile . Some say they don't get it while having the same set up as me.

I'm aware of that easter egg but this guy is talking about something else; dial 123456789 and it plays music.
"Subscriber is not in service."
(Not directed to OP) sounds like another troll.
I had my friend try it on his Galaxy SII (he's running CM10.1 if that happens to matter) and it totally worked. Apparently it works for some and not for others... I wonder why that's so?
Also:
With WiFi calling enabled, I get "The subscriber you have dialed is not in service... Message IL95O56"
With WiFi calling disabled, I get "Your call cannot be completed as dialed... Message NC26951"
I only get EDGE service where I live. I wonder if I would get anything different on 3G/4G? I'll have to try at work tomorrow.
The dialer 123456789 trick worked for me on wicked v3.

Wow other people got this too lol cool , OK so I'm not trying to troll anyone. I found this out while trying to just go on the web browser I had no 4g and I know by dialing any number I usually dial 611 , it resets the data and my 4g comes back. Now what made me dial 123456789? No clue lol I was board and I just dialed it then the music came on. Thought all phones did this so I tried my girlfriends phone and nothing I tried her sisters phone nothing. So I made this video to see if anyone knew about this.
I tried these phones and this is what made me think it was T-Mobile that did this but now its confirmed that its not.
Samsung galaxy s4 T-Mobile - worked
Galaxy s4 sprint - didn't work
Galaxy note 2 T-Mobile - worked
Galaxy reverb virgin mobile - didn't work
Galaxy s2 T-Mobile -worked
These were the results. Anyone know why this happens? I called while on off WiFi and on WiFi also while on 4g and it happens while I'm on any of these.
It doesnt work for me
WELL??? What does it all mean basil?
Someone should make a recording of it.. or a youtube with the phone on speaker...
Im actually really interested in what it sounds like....
Maybe why some get it and some dont is because of region...?

That's what the video link is. I just talk a little demonstrating what a Easter egg is first for anyone who didn't know then I show what happens and what song comes on also I found the name and persons who sings it I have all the information in the description of the video.
Confirmed working. Although it won't work via wifi calling and I was on 4g when it worked.
By the way that's an old dance hall reggae song (originally from the 70s?).... But this version is from my youth! I believe it's Dawn Penn and Bounty Killah summer of 94. Wow I was only 19 then lol!
Big ups to the OP for finding this.... I missed that song and all the dance hall reggae from the 90s! The 90s produced some of the best rap music as well. Peace!

Tried it on 4G here at work and it still doesn't work. I had my coworker try on her SII and it did not work for her either. (But it did work for a friend in NY/NJ on his SII) I'm thinking this might be tower-specific. I've heard that engineers sometimes coded in music that they could dial a secret number and listen to while working on the towers. No idea if this is related though.

Hi fellow XDAers,
It have been picking the best of both working Droid roms that has come down lately from Sprint to get phone in working order.. Instead of working from ICS backwards, I've worked GB forwards on the main parts... Forgive the choppy sentences... Not enough coffee yet lol
1. Odin'd back to EL29 OTA proper and rooted. Which rebooted.
2. Odin'd the FF18 modem. Rebooted.
3. Re installed a few utilities - ghost commander, quick reboot, Ti (to pull zipped apk's of the better parts of ff18 and email them to my laptop. whet I plan to integrate them. Also planning to do the same once I get the GB portion s downloaded)
4. Integrate into new ICS or JB stock ota
So far got 1 & 2 completed. Running to the hospital for a bit to visit my mom and then have to do some house work (a woman's work is never done.... I hate cleaning! lol)
Then back to my geekdom (for world domination (j/k))
And see if I can make headway on next items..
Screen print attached.
EDIT: speed test, battery shots jusy attached

Not so much a ROM but more a back-working of ICS to see where its breaking down. Consider it a "Bandaid" to transitional development towards ICS.

No, i'm not releasing it as my own ROM... That would be illegal, now wouldn't it... Please read the entire thread. I am reverse envineering it to make it work with what was stable in GB EL29. And thought I would share to be kind to the other SSGS2ET owners who just got screwed by sprints preemptive release of ICS 4.0.4.
If a Mod want to change the title and remove the word ROM that's fine by me.
I'm just trying to give a hand.

Thank you!! See there is a voltage issue that keeps turning off 4G when on wifi... There's also a runaway program that i'm still trying to find and change the timing on so it doesn't use up the battery and there is also something that prevents reattachment to Ti for one thing and that its goggles fault for changing the key with every install... Most apps can handle it but there are slot that don't recognize the phone and creates a problem especially if you've paid for it... its the guts basically that is causing the problem sort of like crossed wires throwing voltage.
Hope this helps, and when I get a chance, I will write a proper dissertation for those that don't unbend and insist on flaming me.

This argument should really be handled with PM's, not in somebody else's thread. I try my best not to get in the middle of things, but this is getting ridiculous. If you don't agree that it's development then report the thread and let the mods decide, don't attack the OP's spelling and time with XDA.
My Wicked Sensations rom is one of the roms that people are referring to as more of a theme and not development and I agree with them. But every phone section has themed roms just like this section. I don't consider myself a developer, and I have stated that on many occasions. I just try to share something that I like with others. But I do respect everyone else's work and don't insult it. If I don't like it, I move on.
So please respect somebody else's thread and don't trash it up this way.
I've cleaned this thread. However, it will remain closed for now. "Placeholder" threads are not allowed. As you probably seen why. Once a download link is provided and verified, then it will be opened.
Until then, I'm serious about what I said when I talk about it spilling over. Vacations will be handed out (again) if it continues. I don't care who you are, how many times you have pm'd me, how cool you think "you and me" are. Rules are rules.
Being that this is the first T-mobile phone with "offical" JB. Is there anyone out there who could pull the wifi calling system out of this phone and make a zip or apk file so we can try it on other T-mobile phones running JB roms? Thanks!:fingers-crossed:

It's TOTALLY carrier dependent, as far as I know. However I am a TMo subscriber... on my international HTC Sensation, I installed wifi calling apk that had been yanked from the TMo ROM, with no problems - I hope it'll work when porting from the TMO GN2 to the Int'l one...

You are correct, it is Carrier dependant and its a feature that Tmobile offers. It used to be able to be pulled from roms and installed (not as an apk cause there were more files it needed to work and the apk installation was not possible), however I see this being a problem in its current state. The reason for that is cause now Tmobile has it built in as a feature in the settings of the rom not as an individual app as before.
Developers would pull the app out with necessary files and offer it for porting to other devices and it was there. I have spent hours on this because I would try different Roms on my vibrant and if they didnt have wifi calling i had to find a way to install it (It was always a flashable zip to get wifi calling). Later I started playing around with insalling ics roms on vibrant and tmobile didnt have any phones with ics yet so there was no wifi calling compatible and devs were having a hard time and it just never happened. I then got the galaxy nexus with jb and went for 8 months without wifi calling (I think at some point the ICS version came out).
When Tmo offered the note 2 and with wifi calling i got excited that someone would be able to extract it and i might be able to get it working on nexus...but then i saw how they have integrated it into rom. It wont even show up in titanium backup as an app. Just the wifi calling settings. Im sure some dev will eventually be able to do it..but i see this taking time as it usually is not a priority for devs. I wish I knew enough to work on it

Let me start by saying that I believe we have some of the best developers working on our device. These guys work tireless nights to my sure we have the best ROM for our phones. My question do you guys feel we have enough developers developing for our phone? If not what can we do as a community to attract more developers especially the developers that work on the AOSP Roms. Even though touch wiz is great it does have it limitations. I heard that google wallet is working on some of the cyanogenmod builds. The Galaxy S3 a pethera of developers. Just saying.
To get more Devs you need a more popular phone. The Note II size isn't for everyone. The SIII has been promoted like crazy and is still pushed hard by Samsung and carriers.
I don't see hardly any advertisement for the GNII. This plus the price tag being around the $300 range doesn't put it at the top of most people lists. Hopefully more will be coming on board soon.
Sent from my Galaxy Note II using XDA Premium.
I suspect what we need is to teach rise of us who have the phone how to develop for it. I know I have tried but without help I am not getting very far. I suspect we have a larger number of users here who are capable and interested in doing this than other phones.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Xparent Purple Tapatalk 2
Most of my friends want the phone but are currently in between upgrades. Some of my friends wasted there upgrade on the epic touch 4g and now have to wait 2 years to upgrade. I was think creating a funded to help a proven developer to get a Galaxy Note 2 preferable a developer who ported the cyanogenmod to the Galaxy S3. That phone is very similar to our phone so it be a matter of time before the developer figures it out and ports it to our phones. What do you guys think? The problem with our phone it is so new. So we are still in the infancy stages of development.

It's a fantastic phone and people I know love it. But they also tend to buy the GSIII over the Note. The GSIII has been around longer and holiday sales will make even more fly off the shelves.
I'm just saying that not as many people have the Sprint device, that's why the development isn't jumping like crazy. Typically the most popular phones are Flagship phones. Sprints advertising of this phone has been non existent. I've never even seen it shown on their home pages before, that's all I'm saying.

I like this idea. I would love to develop for it but I would need help getting started. I just have one little problem and that is there isn't much I wish to change. I don't have any desire for extra battery nor do I wish to make the phone faster. Sure I modded a few things but this is by far the best device I have had out of the box.
No disrespect to the great developers we have on this site but this is one of the few phones that I actually don't need any development for. It's perfect right out the box, if you're a touchwiz person.
Won't the S-Pen only work on Tw architecture? Why would you put an AOSP ROM on it?

I was thinking the same thing. Don't get me wrong, JellyBomb is an awesome rom but coming from nothing but HTC phones, I'm used to very active development with lots of variety. My girl buys nothing but Galaxy phones and I've always rooted and flashed roms to her phones and I've always seen the Galaxy forums jumpin. The only thing I can think of that this phone has working against it, is its size....it's obviously not for everyone. It's unfortunate because the size grows on you and spec-wise, this phone has unbelievable potential. It's still a baby though...Lets see what happens
I was trying to advise to many people to but the galaxy note 2 international version. Always the international version of a phone has more development but nooooo....everyone called me crazy lol and now they will official release 4.1.2 for xmas I am happy with my choice
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app......If I helped you please press the thanks button
On past "similar" devices flashing other roms was as simple as flashing a kernel/modem/build prop package for ones device
Has anyone looked into this?

^^ We could still get the ports if there were more devs around for this phone willing to put the time & effort in. The phones are pretty much the same across the board. All the international themes work on our phones. It's still too early *twiddles thumbs*

I have an AOSP rom and Spen works fine
For those wanting to learn, here is a great place to start with a ton of links: http://www.teamvenum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=322
And honestly as someone (slowly) working on my own rom, this community so far has been, let's call it uninspiring. People bad mouth roms all over the place because it's themed.
If you like stock, then why did you flash it? Is Not a secret that is themed.
And the users over here from what I have seen have been very demanding and don't appreciate much. People aren't using the search function and ask stuff that had been answered. Nobody knows everything, but it helps a lot if you read the threads and do a Google search before asking questions.
End rant. This phone will get more devs, just give it time. Or if you want someone specific, donate to help them get the phone.

The video will tell you all you need to know.
But brief description for those of you who can't watch videos....
I received my phone on October 16, 2012.
Installed all my favorite apps on it.
And I was super happy, in fact I was so happy that I didn't even bother rooting it.
T-Mobile update came along and I thought it was JB. So I updated.
Turns out it was a "Maintenance Update"
At first I didn't notice any difference but then like a day later,
all of my apps that depend on my data connection stopped working.
My notification bar says I have full coverage,
but my apps cannot access the web.
Facebook, Twitter, Play Store, Browser, ect.
I call T-Mobile they tell me to do a factory reset.
Did the factory reset and cleared my cache.
Rebooted and....
Same thing but now its worse because Play Store doesn't work
and I can't download any apps at all.
T-Mobile sent me another phone.
And that's the end of the story of the first phone.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Got my second GS3 in the mail. Yay happy day!
Everything works great. I am so happy.
A few days go by and I notice that the JB update is finally here,
so I update because I have been itching to get my
hands on it.
I update and everything seems fine.
A couple of days later I am doing something at work and
I decide it would be best to send my boss a picture of
the work I was doing.
I bust out my phone and go to the camera.
While in camera I try to take a picture of what is on the screen
and everything is weird.
So I'm like "Oh let me click on the screen and auto focus
the camera"
Nothing happens.
My auto focus is NOT working!
I take my friend's phone
Another GS3 with ICS and her's is working and her pic is crisp.
So I call T-Mobile.
They tell me to go to the nearest T-Mobile store and
check out a demo phone and see if it does it.
Go to store. Check it out. And theirs is the same.
But they are running JB not ICS.
So my conclusion is,
some phones who updated to JB may have lost auto focus
abilities.
If you watch the video you'll also see how stupid the guy at T-Mobile is.
Enjoy my low budget video.

I've tried about 15 ROMs to figure out which ones are working with BT streaming music (Pandora, 8tracks etc) to my jay bird blue bud x head phones. I'm getting different results but its only stable on touchwiz ROMs.
I've checked out 12/26 cm which supposedly had working BT but couldn't flash it to my t999 as it was for att phones.
I read a post that fixes the BT issue by moving some files around which I have not tried yet.
So far(update):

My brother used BT on his stock rom and said it was spotty, so that had me wondering if it works for some and only on some devices... I have no use for it but it is a huge deal to others. I'll send you a link of a a BT fix that is just a patch not a whole rom, are you on a AOSP based rom now?

It's literally a 1mb file maybe, and stock music player does have an equalizer built into the music app.
I wouldn't really worry about getting flamed for a legit question as long as you arent rude about it. People around here mostly just get aggravated with the repetitive questions that have been asked and answered over and over, and the rude folks that don't like the answer they get and start bashing the people answering.

Does the stock equalizer work outside of the music app? Using DSP manager on cm was nice because it changed the sound for speaker and Bluetooth as well as music streaming from apps like 8tracks

I'll download the ROM and test it out. Haven't tried that one.
Main issues are Bluetooth either won't connect or only connects for a few minutes. Quality is fine. But after those first few minutes there will end up being 6 Bluetooth processes open that drain power and consume so much of the CPU power that the phone becomes unresponsive until I reboot.
