BlackBerry Messenger coming to iOS and Android on June 27th!!!!
BlackBerry Messenger will be arriving on iOS and Android in just three weeks. T-Mobile UK revealed the date on Twitter, teasing a photo of a Galaxy S3 running the previously BlackBerry-exclusive chat service. BBM will only work on Android 4.0+.

They're about 5 years too late..
Of every friend I currently talk too, or have talked too in the past, all except for one has moved from a BB to another device. Literally, one person I know uses a Blackberry, the Z10. Even the people I no longer associate with who have low income or no job have low end Android or refurbished/hand-me-down iPhones.
I used to work for a company that did cloud based e-mail exchange hosts and other email related services (sharepoint, office 365, etc) and at that time, 4 years ago, more support tickets were submitted based on "what Android phone would you recommend for our company to mass-purchase?". Occasionally it was iPhone switchers, but seemingly almost everyone wanted to get away from their ancient BB's..
Don't think so. Read the update...

It's essentially like whatsapp and others. Useless if your friends and family don't use it. Never understood why people use it

I think most people use it due to the fact they can't shell out lots of cash to have a plan that allows unlimited texting. I know for one the prices of our cell bills is just way to much. If I want to text down to the states that's just more added onto my bill. Only reason I don't any other app is I simply don't trust them or have not been running as long as BBM.

agree, so since people already get used to whats up, the chance of bbm on android will be low.

c'mon guys, we're right there
I realise the whole thing is kinda pointless... but what are the bets that Android/iPhone/every-other-OS users are voting WebOS?
but yeah would be pretty funky to see WP7 crowned King. My votes been counted anyway

Pretty high, they're jelly that their run-down boring OSes with only good apps to back them up didn't get anywhere.

Many people would argue that a mobile OS is only as good as the apps available to it. Accordingly, this "OS bowl" is rediculously flawed. The only way that WP7 winning would make any sense is if the primary criteria for voting was "most untapped potential"

Haha , the votes are only from the people who bought the phones. Sad.

That would totally explain the fact that android and iphone booth with definitively higher market shares got raped. I mean it wasnt even a close game for either. It's all about OS... WP7 is in my opinion the best OS apps aside, in a business user though I could see palm being the best. Android and iphone have all the app backing in the world but this isn't a "Who has the best developer support bowl." It's an OS bowl and the top two teams are there accordingly.
Not nearly as sad as your stalking and trolling - do you even have a WP7?
I think his initial excuse was "I'm considering getting one." Followed by a 3 page list going on about the few features that have yet to been included.

The one I posted allows you to save the searches and lets you know when something new has been published. it isn't the one by darkierawr linked which isnt as good.
I have had this app for a almost 2 years now.. this is the best craigslist app hands down.. I wish it was still on the market.
I set this app up, so that everytime a new job in the I.T field was posted in my area, it sent me a notification..
I have my resume and cover letter on my phone.. so I would email it to them within 5 minutes of them posting it.
That is exactly what I do with mine phone and Craigslist app. My last 4 jobs I got because of this app.
I was always one of the first 4 or 5 people to apply
The winning factor in getting a job now a days.
Keep resume as PDF, quick email.. Winning
Can apply for a job while at the Ball Game with ease (done it)
I don;t get it, I have Craigslist mobile on my Epic and I still see all of them on the market.

I just found this posting on craigslist "Are you an Android user? Does your operating system have OS 2.1 or higher loaded on your phone or tablet? If so, apply to participate in an upcoming product test and earn $50 to participate, if you qualify.
FIND MORE DETAILS ON http://android.paidtrial.org/Philadelphia"
Here is the link: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/evg/3005691935.html
I installed the app, and it accesses my location, network communication, personal information, storage, phone calls, system tools, network communication and system tools. Should I uninstall it?
Focus groups are generally alright to participate in, but I wouldn't do this one. There is a way to see what data is transmitting from apps like this, just can't remember how to do it.

This is NOT a good company or app.
I kept the app active for 45 days.Never got paid.Support takes forever to answer unless you say something that pisses them off then they'll answer overnight with some unhelpfulness.
After the 30th day active I emailed them asking about the VCC reward to which they replied:"Rewards are processed at the beginning of each month, any rewards earned this month will be paid the first week of next month."
Waited until half of next month passed and emailed them again, their reply:"We will try processing payments sometime this month,if you have successfully had the app running and qualify for an incentive you may get it this month, unfortunately there is not currently a way for us to review your account to check for completeness at this time."
2 months later, still no reward at all. They stopped answering me.Guess I was a sucker for letting them track my every move or whatever they were looking for.Good thing all I did was browse porn on that phone for those 2 months so the jokes on them I guess.

yeah i was about to say.
just from the craigslist ad posting you quoted I would not have bothered.
Especially if they didn't give you reasons to why they wanted all those permissions. Just lacked information.
Samsung Wallet, Samsung's version of Apple's Passport, looks really promising. I wonder if we'll somehow get it.
From Android Central:
Samsung has announced a new API for developers to help manage event tickets, boarding passes, memberships, and coupons. Samsung Wallet will be a new application which brings all of these types of content into one place. Time and location-based push notifications will help users get a hold of the ticketing information.*
If this sounds familiar, that's because iOS has had this thing called Passbook for awhile which does (and looks like) the same thing. Still, I have a feeling Android will have a leg-up on mobile ticketing since there's still no natively NFC-enabled iPhone out there.*

Agree somewhat.
But I'd mention that Samsung just partnered with Visa PayWave. When Apple partnered with Visa, they were able to do a workaround:
"Apparently, Visa has found a workaround for the lack of NFC phones by embedding the computer chip needed into specially designed iPhone cases instead."
I could see them offering it to Samsung for devices like ours too... maybe?
Good thing the GSM S2 has NFC muahaha
We won't see NFC other than SD cards like what Moneto was making.
I highly doubt any manufacturer will make a case that has NFC for the E4GT this late in the game.

Screw Hollywood anyways, they use our money to try to ruin our collective internet, at this point no one should be giving them any money, it's self defeating. I won't post anything, in the past i was advised not to post petition links, but if you feel like searching for CISPA and speaking your mind it would help everyone out that uses the internet.
Oh and yeah we don't have NFC, so who cares, my main point aside.

Supposed to compete with T-Mobile and Verizon and att.... Personally it like you're renting ya own phone since u gotta turn it in when u upgrade ya device... But then they say the high charges for plans is to cover the cost of the device ... So if we r renting the phones drop prices on plans ....

I saw this on g+ this A.M..I read its supposed to start this month on the 20th i believe. . And every 12 months you would be eligible for an upgrade ..So if this is tru i will be eligible for my upgrade at the end of October. ..
I don't c the value we still pay high premium for a phone that we don't get to keep and then get asked to go ahead and start a new payment on another phone that u can't wind up keeping ...unless u cancel but that a whole other can of worms ...

My question is if I put $200 down does it lower the monthly cost. And if I just buy my phone outright, can I still take advantage of cheaper plans.
Here is the pricing, looks competitive based on the other carriers.
Giving the phone back is only mildly annoying. I don't know about the rest of you but I have a drawer that is a retired phone graveyard. Just taking up space.
I'm sure some phones maintain their value for a while but getting your money back when selling it seems like a bit of a gamble and just plan irritating. Listing it on swappa or craigslist, dealing with people, negotiating a price. More work than I am interested in.
