Protect any application (i.e. SMS, Gallery, E-Mail, Facebook, etc.) on your phone using face recognition. Convenient and cool way to increase safety of your private apps and content.
Visidon AppLock lets you choose the apps to be protected. Your face is a key to open them! Application uses the frontal camera of your mobile and verifies in real-time that the face matches the one allowed to access the private apps.
NOTES AND TIPS:
1. You must have a front facing camera in your device to use the face recognition feature. Otherwise it is disabled and you are only able to use password verification.
2. This application was developed and tested with Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 and Acer Iconia A500. User experience may vary with other devices due different hardware (e.g. camera etc.).
3. In addition to the applications you wish to protect, you should also add Visidon AppLock itself and any application that can be used to close or unistall applications or services (task manager, settings etc.) as well as any application that can be used to install new applications (market, myfiles etc.) to the protection list to get your mobile fully secured.
4. If the preview image is upside down or sideways, please try to set different camera orientations from the settings tab.
5. The default security level is medium. If it seems too low (i.e. other people can get in too easily), you can set it to maximum from the settings tab.
6. The most accurate recognition will be achieved when all the training images are taken directly from front (i.e. no profile images etc.). Also, you should take training images in different illuminations (in those environments where you usually use your mobile). Sufficient amount of images per person is about 5 to 10.

Awesome....

Just tried this, wifes face was able to unlock once out of 4 tries. I only have 4 pics in the database for it so that could be the cause, will test again tmrw but app functions fine, no force closes. Excellent app. If only you could implement this into the main lockscreen like samsung removed. Awesome work.

I tried this some more, i have now added 10 pictures to the app database and it seemed to be working fine BUT then my manager at work had a go and it unlocked first time! I really like this app and want it to work
How does the facial recognition work in this app?
1) Does it compare the live camera image accross ALL the stored pictures and only unlock if ALL the stored pictures match the live camera image?

2) Does it look through the stored pictures and unlock if ANY ONE of the stored pictures match the live camera image?

@BillSplate, apparently Visidon AppLock does not shows in all Market provider. You have to set SIM Numeric value to :- 24491 [AMT Finland] using MarketAccess.
@safeelhd2 , Try changing Security level to Maximum.
@Octavius69, What device you are using ?. it works super fast and very stable with SGS1 and SGS2

Changed the security to maximum and tested again. It now scans my face for about 1/2 second longer to make sure it is me, and it works perfectly.
Tried with several different people, nobody was able to unlock it.

Anybody tried to unlock with a paper photo of the person authorized?
EDIT: I tried to unlock with a picture of me shown on the LCD screen of my computer... unlocked!
The picture has been taken with the front camera on my Galaxy S2, so same origin as the training photos for the app.
On mid security I was able to use a picture of the 1,3MPixel camera of my stone age Nokia mobile to unlock. It didn't work on High security, though.
I tried a low res picture from Xing, which didn't unlock (setting high security) and will try some more within the next few hours.
Using biometric features to secure gear and other stuff has it's drawbacks: Finger prints are prone to fakes, a picture of your face may be used... there is no way of telling if it's actually yourself looking into the camera or a picture being held up against it.

What if you set it to protect something like widget locker..... ?

if you set it to protect widgetlocker you will need to firstly unlock it via this app then the normal unlocking method set in widgetlocker.
so it'll be like this
1. facial recognition---->
2. Widgetlocker
3. Homescreen

Superb App and very well implemented. I will test it out and if it passes all my tests I will use it permanently.

I used it a bit but it is too slow to start for me. Especially for unlock of screen.

Hi,
Can you tell me what causes this and how can we fix it?

To all, I am not the developer of this software. I saw this application and I was so amazed with it. It is the only available face recognition for andriod and it works well.
It is so strange that this application is hidden from Market thats why a lot people dont know about.
@Visidonsupport, I really dont know what couse this problem, but I figured out that only if you fake your provider to any Finland mobile provider, then this software will appear in the market. You only can fake your provider by using MarketAccess application (Google it) from this software you can set any value for your sim card. Each mobile provider company has unique value, for example O2 (German) has a value 26207. You can find all all these values for all provider from application called Market Enabler (Google it).
By the way, are you the developer of Visidon Applock software? If so I would to thank you for ur software. We have some comment about ur software if you could implement the software will be prefect.

Only bug I noticed was that in order to switch from any non primary user back to the primary(as far as using a visual UI), your lock screen *has* to be in landscape mode. Easy enough I guess so have at it!

Manual method(fun, makes you feel like a hacker):
First, we need to enable this.
Go to Terminal Emulator and type these in:

Hint: "test" being the name of the 2nd user. You can change that to a name, or whatever.
Now, we've created a 2nd User on your JB 4.1 device. Hold the Power/Lock button to bring up the power menu, and you should see this:

To remove this 2nd user from your phone, switch back to the primary user via the power menu, and go back to Terminal Emulator.

Hint: primary user in this case is 0, 2nd is 1, so on and so on.
Now you should only have one user, and your Power Menu should not have the ability to switch to a new user anymore.

At the moment, this isn't extremely usable, ie texts from the primary user's still show in the 2nd test account. But, with the right launcher installed, and hiding the apps from the drawer on the 2nd account, this can still be usable in its current form.
My suggestions:
1.) Label the 2nd user Guest
2.) Use Nova or Apex as the launcher for the Guest user, and hide all of the apps you want(texts, social media, email, etc) from the app drawer.
3.) Setup a security lockscreen on the primary user to prevent Guests from gaining access(each user has different lockscreen settings)

One more reason to go cyanogen on tablets

Just tested with team eos jelly bean rom and it worked, on the motorola xoom MZ601

I found that in the second account there are apps that I don't have in the primary account, for example: Google Wallet, Play Magazines, Play Books and Play Films. (I'm from Belgium)
Oh, they disappeared as soon as I signed in with my Google account.
If you are on the second user, most of the data from the primary user is hidden (you can not acces it).
For example:
- photo's
- unlocked levels in Angry Birds
- music
- contacts
- google account
- clipboard
- home screen
But there are a few exceptions:
- all the apps are there, as if they were just installed
- the recent apps menu
- the use-app-as-default-setting (I don't know the official name). For example: if you set Apex as default in the Guest account, it will also be default in the primary account.
- your messages (!)

Hello! Installed the app and I really like it's concept. Some of the issues I noticed are:
1. It's not really that fast on my device (Moto G running PA 4.43). Diode, for example runs much faster and smoother (it has very few features though).
2. When I log into my reddit account the categories tab consists of subreddits, none if which I have subscribed to. Same goes for the frontpage, which consist of post from those subs.
2. There is no feature to pick a custom sub or search for one but I'm sure you're working on it.
3. Comments have no ratings.
4. I use my phone with my left hand and when I swipe my finger on the left side of the screen it moves the categories list instead of the posts while the categories list is closed.
5. When I open a link there is no option to choose an to open it with, like browsers, youtube app.

It's a lot better with the improvements and in fact I'm switching to it as my default reddit app from now on.
I made a mock-up to better explain some of my suggestions.
1. The "sort by" should be more contrasting to its background to make it more readable.
2. The posts could be thinner, because I noticed there is a lot of unused space and if you do that there could be more posts shown simultaneously on the screen.
3. A post could consist of 2 general button areas similarly to Diode. The are on the left to open a submenu for the comments, up/downvoting, hide and report and the one on the right, where the thumbnail could be moved a la Diode, to open the link directly or load the selfpost with comments if it's a selfpost.
4. I didn't find any way at all to open the comments and if there is one it isn't intuitive. If not done like in 3. I'd suggest swiping to the left to open the comments of the post that I've put my finger on.
5. My biggest issue right now is that both swiping a post R>L and L>R hides it. I don't remember ever hiding a post on reddit and I don't think I'd do it in the future. I like the new way categories were implemented and opened by just swiping the left edge of the screen. However, sometimes I miss the area of it and hide a post instead.
6. This one is not too important because the dark theme is looking great already but many people will love a pitch-black theme.
That's all I can think of now. I like how links open in-app and I find it fast and reliable so I will no longer use external browser. The categories menu is beautiful and I love the way you put account info in there. You've done a great job on Pro Reader! Thank you!

Found a couple of bugs. After using reddit on my desktop and subscribing to two new subreddits they didn't show up in the categories list of the app later. Youtube videos only open in landscape.

1. The "sort by" should be more contrasting to its background to make it more readable.
2. The posts could be thinner, because I noticed there is a lot of unused space and if you do that there could be more posts shown simultaneously on the screen.
3. A post could consist of 2 general button areas similarly to Diode. The are on the left to open a submenu for the comments, up/downvoting, hide and report and the one on the right, where the thumbnail could be moved a la Diode, to open the link directly or load the selfpost with comments if it's a selfpost.
4. I didn't find any way at all to open the comments and if there is one it isn't intuitive. If not done like in 3. I'd suggest swiping to the left to open the comments of the post that I've put my finger on.
5. My biggest issue right now is that both swiping a post R>L and L>R hides it. I don't remember ever hiding a post on reddit and I don't think I'd do it in the future. I like the new way categories were implemented and opened by just swiping the left edge of the screen. However, sometimes I miss the area of it and hide a post instead.
6. This one is not too important because the dark theme is looking great already but many people will love a pitch-black theme.
That's all I can think of now. I like how links open in-app and I find it fast and reliable so I will no longer use external browser. The categories menu is beautiful and I love the way you put account info in there. You've done a great job on Pro Reader! Thank you!

I started a new project for now it named Google Maps Unofficial. It's a C# based app that use MapControl to show Google Maps on the app not like other apps use a simple WebView or a HTML code behind .
I need some developers to help me in completing this project. .

gMaps is a very good google maps client, the only problem is that offline navigation doesn't work. If you can't make that work in your app, then... Any effort is useless. But, don't let my comment discourage you to develop, but keep that in mind.

I implemented a class for offline using but there are some bugs presents.
but the first thing I'm looking for is offline map usage (at least map only without navigation)
If I solve the saving offline map I can look for things like offline finding directions and etc.

I may not help you in code as I am not a full-fledged developer. But I hope you get success in this project. This will be a very good contribution to our phones as the Windows Maps is bad after Creators update.

yes exactly . after creators update windows maps get awful and exactly that's why I'm thinking about building this app .
I hate google but Microsoft forced me unfortunately

As an update for project detail I have to say I finally completed the offline map downloading .
You have to select a region for downloading the offline map and it will download .
Please let me know what you need to be prepared for the first release .
For now I need your basic needs (things you can't live without them lol)

I don't say I want these all features in first release. You can take your time . I want favorites places to save like Work and Home. And Yes.....organizing those saved places into collections just like on HERE Maps apps. Also driving and Voice navigation can be a part of it.

I didn't share it on git hub but I will do it and also after a bit cI will share it as a DLL or Nuget package too .

As a very soon pre-release I Will share you the appx on first post .
It contains :
Showing maps as I mentioned in default Road view and Satellite view
and it supports showing traffic and transit
It supports downloading offline map and if downloaded a region offline package if you are offline app automatically use offline map .
Known bugs and issues :
1 - Download Map page : when you select points, Pointers doesn't show the correct position that you selected (they stick to top left of map) but that's ok
2 - Download Map page : Progress Indicator fills many times until download complete, because it show progress of download in each zoom level that app trying to get and it's not showing really true value of progress! I mean it's not reliable at all!
For understanding when download complete wait until app show you Download Complete message
As this app is a very very very first alpha build do not select a large region for downloading offline maps. Please select a region like a City, not bigger. For example Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi, Iran offline map is about 22 - 35 MB (about ~7K to 9K files) depend on the exact region points you selected.
Because of large number of files to write it may takes very long to download much more than 30 - 40 MB but looking for some workarounds.
Good News Maybe :
if app crash ( I didn't see ) or you close app or etc. that cause canceling the map download You can re-select the region you selected before this time app only check for the files downloaded before and continue progress from un-downloaded content

OMG. That's really great to see the first pre-release hit over 850 downloads a day.
I added the walking mode navigation to app , how to use Simply find where you want to go on map and hit the point !
Map showing you the way to get to your destination .

Good news :
I were able to add the voice navigation to the source code
Developers can clone project from GitHub and test it's functionality before next release .
I know there's a known bug that it repeat commands periodically when you get into 400 meter to the point you have to turn or something else I will find a way to fix it, if any developer know a good way to make it ok let me know .

I've been looking at this topic and I saw that unfortunately the project died... so as I am a java developer and I am very tired with all the unresponsible/crashing apps on Galaxy Store. Installation instructions
First generate the secrets.json file using tutorial below:

Put it in a folder on your phone. Folder name does not matter. You need to browse to it later when setting up phone app.
Install GAssist.Net app from Galaxy Store. Open Galaxy store and search for Gassist under the apps tab.
Or, got to this link on your phone. https://galaxystore.samsung.com/geardetail/com.cybernetic87.GAssist.Tizen.Wearable
After watch app is installed. Open it. Give it permissions. Watch will say "Companion app is not installed. Check your phone".
The phone will light up and the Google Play Store will open to the Gassist companion app install page. Click install. Click open. Give it permissions and follow the authentication instructions.

Q: Will this application be available on other watches than Galaxy Watch?
A: Yes, this application should work on any Samsung watch with Tizen 4.0+ and microphone/speaker.
Q: Will this be a paid app?
A: Yes, but the price shouldn't be more than 2USD. I will consider making it 2 variants Free and Premium.
The app will be free.
Q:Will non speaker watches be supported ?
A: Yes, when I develop the text output.
Q:Can this app do xxxx?
A: The app can talk to Google Assistant SDK Service. I'm not answering for any Google Assistant SDK / Service features related questions. This doesn't depend on me, my app is only a bridge to Google Service. Please ask Google what the Assistant Service is capable of, and why not all features are available. Send query to their support, post on their forums etc.

How to get the logs
You have to have Tizen studio installed. Watch has to be in debug mode.
Immediately after crash / bug connect watch via wifi.
Open Tizen SDK Device Manager.
Wait a while until it reads the logs.
Export logs:
Zip them and attach to post reporting bug.

I've been looking at this Alexa app, and it's very bad... My app even at pre-alpha stage is way more advanced
Doesn't record fixed voice length but recording time is based on voice recognition (recognized text is not changing = stop recording) the same as it works on the original assistant this way it can recognize variable length commands - you can say something short, or veeeeeeryyyy long, as long as you like and it will always know when to stop and send reply.
Also my app is way more responsive - the Alexa app feels very unresponsive to me.

You are right with most of your observations! The thing is, I live in the Alexa world for my lighting system and more & have no other choice. It works for what I need even if not perfect. I use GA on my Note 9 because Bixby is pretty much pathetic.
Maybe after you perfect your GA app for the watch, you can start on an Alexa app. Competition and choices are what makes apps great! I'd be a beta tester for that one and/or even pay $10 - $20 to get your Alexa app. I'm no dev but do understand how many thousands of lines of code can go into apps. Good luck!

Great idea, Google assistant is the only thing that lets the galaxy watch down. Ive been praying for 2 years Samsung would sort Bixby out, its voice recognition is terrible and has so many limitations. Count me in for any testing you need

As for the question: this app will never be standalone on watch.
gRPC is the library used to talk with assistant webservice and this library is not available on Tizen, end of topic.
I won't write my own interface to talk with Google API.
