This Story starts here: CRT-Off for S3
Hello friends, this is the conservative mod, CRT-Off (Method by Sorg) and variations, odexed and deodexed, to SGS4 I9505 Stock Roms. The concept is "this mods have to be stable" OK!

•What’s the CRT-Off mod?
It’s just the cool effect when you turn off the screen of Android, simulating old TVs
•What do you have in the attached file?
There's 2 files. One file to flash on Custom Recovery and install the mod and another to restore original condition. On S4 in first boot after flashing system freezes. Just reboot your phone whit long press Power Button and it will be working
•CRT-Off doesn't work for me after flashed. Is there any tip?
You have to check animations settings in:
Menu > Options > Developer Options > Animation duration scale > 1,0x, in order to have a functional CRT effect.
However adjusting the Animation duration scale to 1.5, the quality of CRT-Off and Fade-On becomes much better.That makes all the difference! Anyway, the main effect is CRT-Off
•How to access Extended Power Menu (3EPM)?
If you want the mod CRT-Off with Extended Power Menu, follow the links below. To access the Extended Power Menu, hold the power button then press reboot. You will find 3 options (Reboot, Recovery and Download); Hot Reboot was removed because is disfunctional!
•How can i change turning off effect on this mod? (CRT or Fade)
You can alternate between effects (CRT-Off or Fade-Off) just changing (adding) 2 lines on system/build.prop as described below:
for Fade-Off effect:
persist.sys.screen_off=fade
persist.sys.screen_on=fade
to Restore CRT:
persist.sys.screen_off=crt
persist.sys.screen_on=fade
Then Reboot your S4

S4 Crt is different of S3, but is similar of Nexus devices (if you know Galaxy Nexus you can see it)
No problem, is working fine, this is just a relative question.
This video was illustrative ok, It's already updated whit my S4 in action. This is only CRT-Off whitout CRT-On.

This is just a small collection of mods, build for stock XXBLFB/LG6/LG8.
It doesn't work on deodexed ROMs!
Use at your own risk, it's not tested that much (it should work though ).

For those who wants to Change Battery Icon to others, Flash this. It has circle batt icon already (If you flash scheichuwe update battery on previous post, you still get green stock toggle but the signal in out will be blue color. This one is stock color for signal)

Which ROM do I have:
If you are not familiar with ROM flashing and so on, perhaps you dont know on which ROM you are currently. Here are supported many different ROM-Versions, so if you dont know on which ROM you are or which files you have to flash, type in *#1234# in the dialer of your phone and a screen appears where the ROM-Version is mentioned. For example if the first line is "AP : I9300XXBLFB" you are on XXBLFB.

What is ODEXED:
In Stock ROMs as they come originally from Samsung, the jar's and apk's in /system/framework and /system/app are ODEXED. That means, that the functions (which are normally in the classes.dex inside the apk/jar) are sorced out in an .odex file. ODEXED files are faster than the DEODEXED versions of the jar/apk but DEODEXED files are more easy to modify, so custom ROMs are often DEODEXED.

If you want to know, wheather your ROM is ODEXED or DEODEXED, simply use an ROOT-EXPLORER and look into folders /system/app and /system/framework. If there are .odex files for most of the apk's/jar's you are ODEXED. If you cant find any .odex files to the apk's/jar's you are DEODEXED.

How-To Install:
- You must have a CWM-Recovery (e.g. from CF-Root)
- Download .zip-file (dont extract)
- Copy .zip to your SD-Card
- Reboot in Recovery (Volume Up + Home + Power)
- CHOOSE: install zip from sdcard
- CHOOSE: choose zip from sdcard
- Choose the .zip file from your scard
- CHOOSE: Yes - Install .... .zip
- Phone will flash files.
- Reboot your Phone

No, you dont need Siyah Kernel, this MOD is not kernal-related. Multi-View is part of the stock XXELL5-ROM so why do you need a MOD for this? And no it's not compatible with the INK-MOD because afaik thera are also changes in android.policy.jar needed for INK-Lockscreen!

Ok, I've tested your Mod and it's working good.
But when I've flashed Ink-Effect Mod with 16 colours, the EPM is gone and Multi-Window doesn't work anymore.
So (for me) the only way to have working CRT-OFF + EPM + Multi-Window + Ink-Effect is to flash the Mod with Siyah Kernel 1.8.3 and Ink-Effect + Restart Menu Mod.

Hy Sphinx; for one moment you gave-me hope about supposed CRT-Off fix. But I have to disagree. Your mod is kernel related, as usual since 4.1.2 was released. Just turn off Wi-Fi and crt effect fails, whit Stock Kernel.

Tried the crt-Mod on XXELL4 but it does not boot anymore. Gets stuck on samsung logo.
By the way, the XXELL4 is newer but has been rolled out later. Check the build date.
So fot me the Mod for the XXELL4 would be perfect , pls
XXELL4 is unbranded where XXELL5 firmware is mostly Vodafone really need multiwindow and battery Circle For XXELK4 Please help

It will only work when wifi is on otherwise it won't as from the start of JB firmwares the CRT-Off is a kernel related feature so to activate it just flash Siyah Kernel and Use Stweaks app to activate it. :-/ I was really excited when I saw the OP mentioning it wont require a Kernel but anyways..

Yes you are right, the MOD does not work without WIFI enabled.. Very curious and I did not find a solution for that, yet..

Bro when u flashed it does it remove the 4 way reboot?? it happened with me am using same rom u use if u manage to fix it how then ?

The 4-Way Reboot isn't yet included in this android.policy, patience

I didn't flash it yet because I dont want to lose back to kill and volume skip for music n fm.. mirko will probably make this custom colour mod applicable in his next version along with other android policy features

I confirm that 4-way reboot and volume rocker mod disappears when installing this mod to disaster 7.0. Simply flash back disaster v7 update to get the ROM features back.

Really thanks for the new mod with the 4-Way reboot but i've a little issue with the Multi-Windows Bar. She stays on the screen after that you left the multi-windows.

This is a simple theme whit minimal changes that I am using now to replace the mixed green/blue theme provided by Samy . It’s for my own use but I am sharing with you OK!
The idea is to give functionality eliminating the weird combination of colors provided by Samy (blue and green). From my understanding the Stock Theme should be Green or Blue, not both at the same time, so I fix it.
Features
1 – Black Status Bar
2 – Green Icons Network, WiFi, etc…
3 – Center Green Clock
3 - In the notifications panel blue items were replaced as follows;
A - Slide brightness bar and bottom in green color.
B- The backgound panel of the notification icons turned black with gray accents.
4 - Finally a feature that really pleases me is that the inhibition of the Low Battery Notification and temperature.The system doesn't stop for the warning when the battery reaches 15% charge and also below it. Your game or navigation will not be interrupted for the annoying low battery advise.
