yes, its UK unbranded version.

Be warned though, on 3G you may have excessive battery drain if the other stock ROM doesn't have the correct modem.

??? I didn't get it. What do you mean by correct modem? All stock ROM have correct modem. Not sure what operator is in Guernsey, but its UK anyway, so BTU version is correct.

Go to Settings > About Device > Baseband Version. That is your modem version. If it's, for example DXDLK5, it is better for you to stay on stock ROMs with a modem which ends in DXDLK?, where ? Is a digit. Modems are listed on SamMobile along with the firmware version.

It's a matter of preference. A lot of people like the freedom only rooted devices offer.

Stock UK unbranded ROM?

Hi all. I need to return to stock and I'm not certain what the standard, over the air rom is any longer. I've checked Sammobile but it only seems to list branded. Can anyone confirm please?

WIND, Mobilicity or Videotron customer with a Samsung Galaxy S III? Jealous that other GS III owners on other carriers already have received the Jelly Bean upgrade? Curious to know where yours is sitting? Well, Samsung answered all your questions today on Twitter stating that WIND, Mobilicity and Videotron will “start receiving Jelly Bean on Fri. with a staggered rollout into next week!”

It is a Videotron issue with their firmware. The connection is completely unstable with their rom. Any custom rom those not cause any failed connection. I would suspect their APN to be thw cause since I do get gateway failures only using stock.

why you need to change your modem first place?
best modem is that which comes bundled with your ROM, unless you have flashed other country ROM and you are having any network issue.

4.1.2 on SGH-T999V?

Anyone knows if the SGH-T999V (Videotron, Wind, etc.) is getting the 4.1.2 update anytime soon?
I know they're usually slow with updates.

It should roll out in a week or two. I just have custom rom running 4.1.2 stock touchwiz try out axis rls 19. It's all themed but you can just choose stock and it has a lot of modifications.
I get s4 weather widget though. Here's the link:

I was on chat with a Videotron tech and he told me there's no date set for when the 4.1.2 firmware will be available.
I guess the same goes for all Canadian carriers of the S3 (version SGH-T999V).
Any news from Wind or the other Canadian carriers?

In the past they didnt announce a date, they just did it. Im certain itll happen though. Just gotta be patient I guess.
You can still flash one of the 4.1.2 roms based on the us version.

It seems we've been waiting long enough already but, what can we do?
I tried some of the roms based on 4.1.2 but I prefer to get the real update.
So, more of the waiting game!

I don't know what you mean by "real update" since the T999V's only difference is the baseband. If you get a stock rooted build of MD5 (Root66 is a great example), you have a "real update" to 4.1.2. Its just not official by Samsung but it will work the same as an official release would.
actually, there are more differences. Each of the 3 Canadian versions are very close to each other indeed, but there are small differences in what bloat is added. Plus I was also told one of them (videotron I think) uses different network technologies than the other two.
None of them have T-Mobile bloatware though and are quite lightweight in that regard I've been told.
You are correct though, that any of them can use each others builds (minus baseband) and can easily get 4.1.2 by doing so.

GT-N7100 is the international version...there is no USA firmwares for it, because american Note 2's are from carriers and have a different model code.
When I got the Note 1 (GT-N7000) in the States last year it came with Spanish firmware by default.

Better to have the model you have then to have a carrier specific model
