Hey guys
Is it possible to root the .200 ROM (Official JB) without Unlocking the Bootloader?
I mean like eRoot etc.
I have no Recovery to flash something and I don't want to unlock it.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

If you want not to Unlock Bootloader, till now, you have to flashback to ICS and install CWM,
Otherwise you have to wait till a new way be discovered!

Hi
I have flashed the global ICS firmware for my xperia arc ! i really like it but it is not as smooth as the gingerbread. I know the firmware is full of bloatware and thats why its a bit laggy..
My question is there a ROM (modified firmware) which i can flash to make the ics run smoothly and faster on my arc ??
Try Arconium.

I'm using the World Generic 4.04 stock rom, and find it occasionally locks up and crashes, I do like the feel and style of ICS but dont think its been perfected for the Arc yet, if I could unlock my bootloader i'd try other roms, so its between ICS or Gingerbread for me

Its the experia s sorry n its on 4.0.4 3uk
For rooting ICS 4.0.4 with build number 0.45/0.50
this is the root process:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
But, If the device is in 0.55 build number then u need unlock the bootloader.
Or you can wait for the Jelly Bean upgrade, since it will release within couple of weeks i believe.

Hello friends, good morning!
I have a xperia s with 2.55 Firmwares with locked bootloader. And, finally, I managed to make root through this process:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39498268
I would change the official rom
What do you recommend me?
With the locked bootloader, is it possible for me to put some 4.1 or 4.2?

You cannot install 4.1 or 4.2 ROMs on locked boot loader for now. Sorry. Check the development section for a list of roms that work on locked bootloader. We are not allowed to tell which ROM is the best so you will have to try it for yourself. Sorry again.

Just get the ftf file of the official JB and flash it via flash tool. Then you don't need to bother about re-locking your bootloader.
You can even get pre-rooted JB as a RAR you can flash from recovery from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2302631
as long as you have CWM recovery installed.

According to this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141143 seems you can never get your bravia engine back on JB, even if you relock.
But if you download 'Pimp my rom' from play store, you can use that to install bravia engine if you have root, I think.
I didn't find that yet on forum . Please someone tell me how ?
