When you use an app do dim the screen more than the default does it go black for you? So on my old optimus g I am 99% certain I downloaded an app to dim the screen lower than the default settings and it worked. On my replacement phone if I try to dim lower the screen goes black. I am wondering if my replacement has a crappy screen or if something changed weather its software or maybe lg changing the screen slightly along the way.

Anybody else having an issue with you screen going half black or completely black?
This started for me after I first changed my LCD density.
Every so often I will wake my phone and half the screen will be completely black, no widgets or anything. After a couple reboots it comes back to normal.
Hello. Since getting my new HTC M8 the other day I noticed that the screen can flicker for a fraction of a second when in the setting menu.
The issue really comes to light when you use a screen filter, I use the app that is literally called screen filter. If you set the app to about 20% and then you go into the settings menu you start seeing microsecond white flashes when backing out of and entering new menus.
Does anyone else experience screen flicker on there M8. I like to know if its my phone thats the problem or the screen filter app. If someone wouldnt mind testing my steps above out, it also helps if you have the screen filter on in a dark room as the flashes become even more pronounced.
Thanks
I got a new screen, and I think that it's not original, and I cannot change the screen brightness. Can someone tell me a way to force it down?
(VZW Phone) Greetings. I just traded in my trusty V20 for a G7. It was free. (bogo). With my V20, only the second screen was "always on" and I loved that! but with the G7, the only "aways on" feature seems to be for the main screen only. I don't see any way to have the second screen "always on" and the main screen off. Am I missing something here? this is a huge deal to me. Thanks for any info in advance.
Yes you missing something. True second screen. LG G series don't have two displays. But dont worry, LG G7 it turn on only few pixels of all screen for data with its need to be shown. And if you turn off "Daily timeout" it will turn off only if you cover proximity sensor.

I beg to differ on this from my understanding. As per what I know what you have said will be correct for oled displays and not true for the g7 panel. The second screen is indeed "always on" unless it has been configured to phase out from time x to time y if configured that way. Or else once the option is turned on, the screen is indeed "always on".
P.s. if you look at the screen in a pitch dark room while second screen is on you will be able to see that the entire screen is on at very minimum brightness.
My wife cracked her Redmi 7 screen so I ordered a replacement screen+digitizer+frame from a reputable seller on AliExpress. I followed a guide to the letter and made sure not to damage anything while disassembling, and the re-assembly with the new screen went smoothly.
When I power on the phone the Xiaomi logo comes up nice and bright, but it then auto-dims in the usual way as it loads the system except it dims to an extreme level. I mean it dims so much I can only see what's on the screen if I go into a dark room/closet. When the system loads I can navigate menus normally (as long as I'm in a dark room) but changing the brightness setting has no effect. Turning on/off auto brightness does nothing either.
It doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with the LCD, because if I reboot to bootloader it sits there with the Fastboot logo and picture at full brightness until I turn it off. I took the phone apart again to check if there was anything obstructing the light sensor and I can't see anything wrong with it.
Has anyone seen this before?
Thanks
