Just when I thought our little HOV was done. BAM! A new CM nightly and a new ROM.
Sent from my One V using xda premium
I so wanted to try this! I have a HTC One V (primoC). Previously running Rhythmic 1.2e. HTC Dev unlocked. The dl went well. The md5 checked. I factory reset from hboot, wiped from TWRP, flashed from TWRP, booted to bootloader, flashed boot.img from the zip, flashed gapps 4.2.2, rebooted.
It bootlooped.. 3 times I think? and then settled. It started setup and then it booted just as I was typing the wifi password.
I let it boot and then watched. It booted on it's own after about 30 seconds. This repeated until I got involved and pressed the vol-dn key to get to hboot.
I checked the MD5's from TWRP. All good.
For giggles, I also tried to flash the new CM10.1 nightly you posted using the same process. Same results.
I factory wiped it all and went back to Rhythmic 1.2d->e. No issues.
Boot the ROM before you flash gapps
---------- Post added at 11:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:27 AM ----------
And you might need to use the same kernel from ryth1.2e ¿
There is a graphic issue in Settings. It doesn't fit the whole dimensions. Width wise.

Use the boot.img from the Rhythmic 1.2e update. It sounds like you have the new radio.

First extend the screen and then hold down on the screen you want to remove, there will be a remove option kind of like an icon for the homescreen. This does not work for the camera screen though
Hey guys.. I just wanted to tell you I love this rom. The looks are great. smooth like butta! Just downloaded last night and started playing!
Hey guys I would really love to use this rom, but I can't get wifi to work... I'm on the new radio and hboot (can't revert back) I've tried using Rythmic's kernel, jellybeer's kernel, and this kernel (but that resulted in bootloops)... any ideas?

This ROM is a mish-mash of Vanilla Gingerbread & CM7, and is compiled from the latest CyanogenMod 7 sources. It will be regularly maintained with the latest commits from the CM guys, and our own VillainROM tweaks and changes. This ROM is starting to take shape, and differing from the stock CM7 build.
Anyway, before we begin - I'd like to thank the entire CyanogenMod team for the epic and consistently BRILLIANT work, for without it, this, and many other ROMs would not be possible. Well done guys - You deserve all the credit. I'd also like to thank Ninpo for his CM6.1 work, and the rest of the VillainROM developers & staff (Pulser, HomerSP, Kendon, Shen, Lenny, Acolwill, dmzda, Revoked, McDuck, etc)
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
To flash this ROM, you will NEED to have ClockworkMod 3.0 installed, which manages EXT4 partitions. If at any stage you need to revert back to a Froyo ROM, you will need to reflash /boot into CWM 2.X via Fastboot.
1. Download ClockworkMod 3.0 from here
2. Boot the phone into Fastboot mode by holding Volume Down and pressing power
3. From terminal/command prompt, type:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
OR... alternatively, just fastboot boot into CWM 2.X to revert to a Froyo backup.
4. Boot into recovery (adb reboot recovery ... or Hold camera and press power)
5. Perform a FULL DATA/CACHE WIPE (only if coming from Froyo)
6. Install Zip from SD Card, and select GingerVillain1.4-signed.zip
1.4 Known Bugs:
1. Enabling screen on/off animations and OC/UV at the same time causes lag when trying to turn the screen on. The animations work fine without overclock... so it's oone or the other right now I'm afraid.
Download links are HERE!
If you're a fan of the ROM.. thank us with a 5 star rating!
thanks will flash soon. in the meantime posting a mirror at my blog.

You know Cyanogen already talked about this before and apparently you didn't read it or get the message that this is what being on an Open OS system is about. Please read around or at least think before you snap at people for no reason.

Wow, just stop, lol. If people feel like donating for the things OUTSIDE of the CM stuff in here, then that's great. This isn't just cm7 compiled from source, labeled GingerVillain, and saying "Donate plzzzz"
Honestly, I've been using the other cm7 builds, but WOW. This build is SUPER smooth, at only 806mhz!! It's definitely going to be a keeper if it maintains this. Don't know about battery, obviously, but for anyone who has been using the other ones .. the modifications by Villain definitely make this thing fly. No DSP though, or StatusBar widgets, before people ask.

wi-fi problems?
Just flashed it. Looks great! However, when I turn on wifi to setup my Google account, restore apps, etc., it stays on for a few seconds (won't show any of the open networks in my building) then just turns off.
Also Twitter sync doesn't work (try to sync Twitter with existing contacts but it automatically switches to option back to 'Don't Sync')
Anyone else having this problem or know a solution?

I can't tell ya what ROM to run, obviously, but to me, this is leaps and bounds beyond the ones that are just direct/simply cm7 builds, as those have no real enhancements. This build, runs amazing actually. Screen shots, it's really just stock vanilla. The only thing different, is the background. Just head to the other Villain ROM (senseless) threads, and you'll see what the bg/boot animation look like.
Also comes pre-packed with GB keyboard, along with GB launcher. Smokin' fast.

Changelog
1.5 Changelog from ParanoidAndroid
Hybrid speedup, less lag, considerably faster list scrolling when pad/pal is in action
Keyboard scaling, an androids first
PAD/PAL bugfixes for apps that still crop images in lower dpis
Settings revamp, speed preferences to switch between modes without having to set up anything, less clutter
Trebuchet extras: 3x4 widgets, speed dial menu button, ... and some weird rocket button which im sure will be very useful to most of you
Pad.prop revamp, new preferences that should pretty much nail it. Im sorry but this trashes your old settings again, do not attempt to restore them unless you do it in a text editor
A warning: if you need to scale keyboards, do close their hosts first (that is, if you have the keyboard running in chrome, close chrome, then attempt to change the size). Otherwise you run into caching problems. Also not that some keyboards use fixed layouts and others dont. Should one of your keyboards not scale, just leave it at PhoneUI/DPI and be happy about those that do scale.
VivoW Changes
Aeroevans 6-26 base
Not using Aeroevans phone w/ gsm due to graphic glitch

Editing pad.prop in version 1.2 for Hybrid Mode
Use ParanoidAndroid Backup app to back up Current pad to SDCard
Location will be /sdcard/paranoid_backup/
You can either edit on your phone or edit it on computer. Make backup 1st in case you don't like your changes and don't remember what the initial values were
Once changes are saved, Use the Parandroid Backup app to Restore preferences
Note - some values will appear right away, others may need the phone to reboot to close and restart the app
Editing Notes
application name.dpi=rom_phone_base (Sets the default resolution for the application)
application name.mode=1 (Sets default mode for the application)
Keychart
application name - com.android.contacts, ect
dpi - You can simply name the dpi like 240 or add a setting like rom_mid_dpi=160 and just use the name whenever you want to set the app dpi to that.
mode -1 = Phone mode
2 = Tablet mode

Awesome you got it working
I will be downloading it and flashing in a few hours. Will be happy to test as much as I can and give feedback soon.
Since its aosp as far as kernel should we run stock or aero's?
Looking forward to trying this out! I'm gonna go ahead and try to flash this, but could you put up MD5s of the downloads.
Initial response.. Nice!! Going to dig deep inside and use as I would on any other rom.. I flashed aeroevan's latest CM9 kernel and so far so good.. Going to put it through the paces no doubt!! Only thing I noticed so far was auto-brightness seems to be brighter than other roms but shouldn't be an issue.. I'm sure that can be adjusted.. THANKS!!

I'm running on aero's kernel now.. v10.5 BFS
my phone keeps displaying the roaming icon, other than that no issues yet
Camera works, but flash does not.
Camcorder shows preview and zooms in and out, but does not record.
Gallery works when showing folder thumbnails, but FC's when you pic a picture to look at.
Not complaining, just reporting.
Thanks

Yes yes yes! This is sick. What dpi are you using kev?
Very nice job! Another good addition to the ice cream family for the dinc2. Congrats again! I like the boot animation! Feels snappy also.

It is correct. I did complete the first boot. It was fine for the first few hours . I think it might be the zram and memory purging thingy

hmm galery dont run video sorry for off top but thingbridge rom have the same bug ! how to fix it ?
This is the port of the original theme by thecoby.
So all credit goes to him for this awesome theme.
I've also used some strings from Linda's work. (e.g. partition selector, since partition table is slightly different from One X)
Currently this port is a bit far from perfect and there's plenty of room for improvement. That's why I'm looking forward to some feedback.

I can make separate version for AM/PM time, but the time line will jump one position left or right depending on current time (e.g. 6am\pm will be a little bit to the left and 11am to the right). It's caused by alignment to the left. TWRP does not supports right alignment. Also, this theme is made for 24h clock by it's original author.
I was wondering if you would be able to change the splash screen on TWRP. I know you could on older versions. I found this on XDA but cant seem to find the thread. What do you think? Thanks!
If you're referring to the "TWRP slide up curtain", I'm afraid it's not possible. TeamWin made this bit unchangeable to preserve some kind of branding. See http://www.teamw.in/twrp2-theme-guide for more information...

This splash would be perfect! The current dark blue one is a bit of an eyesore.
Also, big thanks to w00dstock, this is very well done - using the light theme, it's beautiful...

Was using this back in the One X days, and loved it. Just saw that TWRP 2.6 is released. Can anybody confirm that this still works, or does it need an update first?

IT only needs an update if you want to use encryption. But w00dstock knows where to find the patch...

P.S. I'm still on 2.5.0.0 TWRP version because of the issues in 2.6.0.1. I really hope for the fix in the next version so I could add new features.

The ones that come with 2.6.x.x recovery, such as encryption.
Also, there's something new on the way.
Can you add a 'TWRP_Theme-' prefix to the filenames? (e.g., TWRP_Theme-Holo_Dark.zip)
Thanks for the hard work.
