After I update to .253 I got a Problem. I got Reboots after for example when I rename a file in system/app, it does Rename but reboots.
Root and everything seems to be fine, doesn't had this Problems doing the same on the .434.
Does anybody know what could be wrong?
I updated OTA kept Root with Rootkeeper and everything seems good, it is the same for example when I'am tying to switch from RO to RW inside of ES File Explorer, no matter what I do Phone is Rebooting steady.
PLEASE HELP!

You could try flashing .253 with Flashtools, here you can find the .FTF for your phone : http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2094

Hi,
I have a rooted Desire with sandvold's ics 4.03 rom. Wanted to make some changes to build.prop but nothing I tried so far works... I tried Mount R/W app, Root explorer, adb, adb over wifi, ES explorer, tried to mount via clockwork... with ES explorer I managed to edit the file and make it save (what the program tells me) but when I browse back to the system folder the build.prop file is gone ?? I reboot the phone and build.prop is back but not with the changes I made to it ... it gets reset to default every time ...
Does anyone have any ideas how I can change the file ?
THx

I've truer to change build prop many a time with root explorer and it just reverts back to same after you reboot.....I've set to re changed file saved change set to ro rebooted had file remained the same.
I just use my mobile and this is how I successfully edited build prop
If you have ota files like miui Xj. Unzip the update file edit build prop....save changes....rezip and flash in recovery or you can edit the rom zip.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
Well,if you constantly fail to successfully edit it on phone, you can edit it on computer if its not problem for you to flash ROM again. So when you have unpacked it use text editor(notepad,notepad++,gedit,sublimetext2....) and just edit build-prop,when you are done click save and repack it again.
Hey guys,
On ARHD 14, I never got any cameramod working. Now i'm on ARHD 15 and I really want a camera mod.
So two simple questions:
1) What CameraMod should I install for my ARHD 15, Android 4.1.1, 3.11Base ?
2) How do I install it?
I downloaded OneXedCameraMod a while ago, with like..6 types of APK's in it, but in whatever way I changed them into a zip, I NEVER could install it via Recovery, since it kept saying "installation failed, installation aborted".
Thanks!
Use a file manager to copy the apk you wish to use to system/app/ , then do a hot reboot. If you can't do a hot reboot with that rom, just do a normal. You need a rooted rom for that, so that your file manager can mount /system/

I tried ES Manager. Changed permissions and put it in System/app, but the quality of the camera sucks. Atleast equal or some times worse than stock. So I thought I did something wrong..
Let me start by saying that i do not take credit, by any means for this fix, i did use the SEARCH tool and found the solution. What i'm doing is posting a faster/easier fix for the thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2196200
All of the help i read, is from this thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102981&highlight=miui+camera.
Our common issue was that each time we flashed an AOSP ROM(for me the new MIUI PORT FROM SPRING TO SHG3 TMO) the camera wouldn't connect, and that's a deal breaker. Im sure it was for many of you. (I'm a noob, just giving a heads up, and this is why i have to post here rather than the first thread, being understandbly limited and all) As the 2nd of the two threads says, the issue is that on stock rom there is a bin file named SlimISP_ZH.bin, once flashed, it's no longer there, causing the camera to simply not connect. I odin'ed back to stock(because i didn't have access to the bin file), used ES File Explorer to "copy" the SlimISP_ZH.bin file into my external sd card, then i proceeded to flash to the MIUI ROM of my choice, after setting up the phone, using ES File Explorer again, i placed the bin file on the /data directory. If a mod can confirm it's ok, i'll be more than happy to upload the bin file to make it easier. Oh one last thing i changed permissions, so it should show as rw-r--r--

How do you change permissions? Do I need to be rooted? Do I need busybox?

Yes you need to be rooted. No you do not need busybox. Use ES File Explorer. Better yet, try Fix Permissions in Custom Recovery.

Hi, I have UB and flashed this pre-rooted 5.1.1 rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3200948
[Stock][PreRooted][DualRecovery][D5503] 14.6.A.0.368 Customized DE - Lollipop 5.1.1) and after rebooting I flashed the deodex patch and rebooted again. I then tried to delete the 2 odex files as instructed in the patch thread using root explorer.
Every time I try to delete either file it fails after root explorer asks to remount the system folder.
I'm using the Amazon app of the day version of root explorer if that makes any difference. Any alternative file explorers I could use? Does it matter if I can't delete those files? Thanks

Try SDmaid. I have pro version, so can't vouch for free version being the same or not, but whenever other apps have failed, it has succeeded for me. I had always used RTB pro root browser before, but I had some similar issues a few times, and SDmaid took care of it.
Resolved
I think the initial issue is that the pre-rooted rom didn't grant full root access. I followed these instructions and was able to delete the odex files in the system folder
I used this method to root. I backed up and tried to change the LGSystemUI.apk to a custom one. I thought I set the permissions correctly but it fc's constantly so the phone isn't usable.
I don't think that method installs twrp, and adb isn't finding the phone. What options do I have?
Ok, I was able to reinstall root Explorer and click through the fc's to rename the ui file. Seems to be working now.
