Hello fellow XDA members...
I have heard that going from an AOSP ROM back to Touch-Wiz can be problematic. I recently updated my firmware to the latest MD5, so I am left with a stock/rooted phone. I have been on aokp or CM10 for the past year so I don't remember if going back and forth between Touch-Wiz & AOSP is safe to do. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

It's fine. If you have issues with GPS, see link in my signature.
Thanks dude. I should have said is it okay to go between 4.1.2 & 4.2.2?

Yep, I'm on Ariel right now and it's like nothing I've ever experienced. It's a TW/AOSP like hybrid and it's insane. Give it a try!

Well guys, I know there isn't a lot of stable JB roms out there.
But based on YOUR opinion and experience which ones are the best? It could be AOSP.
Actually most of them I've tried have been pretty stable. I'm on paradroid right now and everything is smooth.

Sprints official jb port is by far the best one.

Read those threads and see what people post the most of. Being spoon fed is shunned here. It only takes about 5 minutes to skim through the last 5 pages and get an idea of the ROM.

I've tried. Trust me lol. I just can't get convinced since some users have bad experience on it. I'm very familiar with android, so I was planning on asking someone whos running it.
Btw, I couldn't install PA.
Why couldn't you install PA?

4+ hours of screen time with lean kernel
I personally have been using Deviant Dev FrostyJB_4.1.1-v6. It is really fast but not has fast as Wicked ICS v7 Rom. But I just love the Frosty Jelly bean the only problem I am having now is that whenever I restart my phone it switches the default keyboard back to stock and not swiftkey 3.
i've been jumping around from CM10 nightlies, PA 2.23/2.51/2.52, and Liquid Smooth RC7... trying to find a good battery.
out of the 3, i like CM10 the most, so i'll probably go back to CM10 nightlies, if not CM10 M2.
My fav have been so far Frostys and Paranoid Android, Im currently using the Sprint Jellybean release which seems to be to basic compared to those mentioned.
Latest cm10 nightly for me

I'm assuming you already have tried Darthstalker or at least found out what you wanted to know.
But in case you have not, I love it.
I went from CM running 4.2.2 and other AOSP ROMs back to touchwiz with this rom.
Really hesitated going backwards (from 4.2.2 to 4.1.1) but when I did finally do it, I never looked back. His rom works flawlessly and I live the options.
Good luck and best wishes.
Hi. Ok, I just got the samsgung galaxy s2 4g aka epic touch 4g VIRGIN MOBILE.

2) How can I make a backup off my current stock rom?
3) Can is use a 4.2.2 JB? I have 4.1.2 stock.

1. Yes
2. Download and flash cwm and run backup through cwm
3. Yes, but there are no TW 4.2.2 ports available for the e4gt yet, but there are some available from CM, AOSP, etc

If you are rooted, and on GB28, then flash you can flash Garwynn's GB28 kernel w/Agat's recovery, which comes with cwm.

You can also use garwynn's latest GB27 kernel with no issues.
jd's probably too modest to mention it, but I reflashed with his GB28 Deodexed/Debloated rom in order to free up some space for converting a few user apps into system ones, along with integrating updates.
If you do reflash with his rom, don't click on the (so-called) Connections Optimizer in settings.
jd removed it but the link is still there and my phone locks up if I click on it by mistake.
I don't have a link handy, but the hack for GB27 hotspot works on GB28 as well.

I think there are some issues with the links at the moment. GB27 kernel works fine with VM, fyi. Garwynn is aware and working on it.
