[Q] SHV-250S 32GB LTE flash to stock & unlock to wind mobile - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to flash to stock, and all the guides say you need a .pit file, I cannot find it I've search all the internals in the firmware, I'm downloading one from samsung update in hope that it will work. All the guides say to use odin, but can I flash stock through CWM? Also is it possible to unlock it to wind mobile! Anyone who can answer these questions will be a hero ! I've been struggling with this for a week... I've tried custom roms to no avail, and now I'm attempting to go back to stock, root it and software unlock it.. Would installing a non-stock modem work after its unlocked. its the korean SKT model 32GB LTE

Flashing software to NA Region? & unlock?

Hi guys, I am not new to android, I daily flash my Samsung Nexus via CWM all the time.
However, My dad recently went to india and i believe got his phone unlocked their for Indian sim cards to work.
Now if they flashed a indian rom on the phone as well, How do i flash the native BELL rom? also, How do i unlock this?
I read around one has to download multiloader and find the Bell Flash file, or whatever the stock one is that Bell gives out in Canada.
Can anyone help me with this? I'm new to this area of XDA. Basically I need a Bell stock flash file, and need to network lock his sim card back to Bell again.
Cheers
Ok So from reading around it seems like I should do the following:
-Download Multiloader--- Done
- Download Bell Software from SAMFIRMARE, Im downloading the Firmwares for GT-S8500M - Canada (Bell)? is that right one?
- Follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1759424 guide to flash my firmware,
and then I should have my dads phone back and on the Bell network right in Canada?
Please give more details so that it is easier to understand you and offer solution.
If I guess right, your dad's phone is Samsung WAVE 8500? And that the phone is completely unlocked now?
If the answer is affirmative, then there is no need to lock it back again to Bell Network. An unlocked phone can be used with any SIM card.
And as the phone was originally of BELL network, just go to Sammobile and download the Canadian firmware for S8500 (WAVE).
Flash your phone with the downloaded firmware and start using it. You don't have to LOCK for it to work with BELL.
The above is only if your dad's phone is WAVE and originally of BELL network. If not, please give more details.
Hey thanks spacks. It was originally from Bell. So if it was flashed to some firmware for india, I will just flash it back to the Bell firmware.
Right now its locked to his India cell phone carrier, So i should probably flash the bell rom to put him back on his original network.
If i run into problems I will post back here, as I am leaving for work now
Edit** If the phone is just locked to the indian carrier, How can i UNLOCK it without flashing a new firmware??

[Q] I have a Bell Galaxy S3 with Cyanogenmod, I'm hoping to unlock it.

Hiya,
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S3 locked to Bell, and I have installed Cyanogenmod 11.
I'd like to unlock it and give it to a friend.
My questions are:
1. If I unlock this phone, will it work with Zoomer Mobile? It's a subsidiary of Rogers. I would imagine it would work, I just want to make sure.
2. I've read somewhere that Cyanogenmod causes problems with unlocking, is that true? Will I have to go back to stock firmware in order to unlock it, then go back to CM11?
3. I can't seem to find any information about unlocking through Cyanogenmod... anyone have a link to a guide of some sort?
Thanks in advance for any help!
am pretty sure you have to be on stock firmware to use free unlock method. will try to search around with for more info

err on the side of kindness
Tell us the bootloader version on your phone.
Once unlocked, it will run on all carriers except wind and mobilicity.

Thanks, thats great to know! My bootloader version is I747MVLUEMK5.
Thanks for all the links mrrocketdog, looks like everything I need to start unlocking!
Since you are on the MK5 bootloader, you will have to flash back to stock, purchase an unlock code, unlock the phone, and flash back to your custom ROM.

Which version of stock, though? I can't remember what the phone came with since it was so long ago... I think it was something like 4.1 , but I'm not sure. Since I've since updated to 4.3/4.4, I'm also worried about bricking my device, because I've heard that flashing earlier roms with newer bootloaders can do that.
Which version of stock should I go with then? Thanks in advance!
Confirm that you have an i747m with mk5 bootloader and baseband. This can be done by using the Play app called Samsung Phone Info.
The stock i747m firmware is available on sammobile.com. Just search for the Bell sgh-i747m 4.3 ROM. You can flash it using Odin. Do NOT check anything except auto reboot and F.reset time. I recommend using Odin 3.07 and backing up your important data to your computer as flashing with Odin will wipe your phone.

Need help with my sprint ls980! please

I flashed a stock 4.4.2 t-mobile firmware to my sprint ls980.. is there anyway to get any ls980 firmware back on it? i use it for tmobile which is why i flashed it but seen a few threads on how to unlock the sim and now im stuck. did i ruin the phone? or could i at least get it to work through tmobile with the firmware i flashed? i cant even get it to connect to google play. wifi works tho
Using sprint tot with the generic DLL file should get you there.

[Q] Reflash unlocked AT&T GS3 (i747) to Tmobile (t999)?

I have an AT&T Galaxy S3 (Model SGH-i747) that I have unlocked and am using on Tmobile. Since it was originally an AT&T device, am I able to use Odin and simply replace the ROM with the Tmobile version (t999 I believe)? The phone is totally stock with the exception of being unlocked with a code from AT&T. It is running Android 4.1.2 Kernel Version 3.0.31-1300972. I downloaded a ROM for the Tmobile t999 with Android 4.3 and when I tried to install it Odin gave me an error: Secure check fail sbl2. I really don't like the AT&T boot screen and AT&T bloatware, and I'd like to run the factory Tmobile setup. Is this doable or are the 2 models of Galaxy S3 different enough to prevent it?
Flashing a stock T999 ROM will also try to flash a bootloader and modem that are not compatible with your i747 and may hard brick your phone.
Thank you, I appreciate the help. Do you know what options are available if I want to get rid of the AT&T boot screen and bloatware (Specifically the AT&T contacts book) while maintaining all the functionality of the device? I have been searching around on this site and google and I've been having a hard time finding information specific to this situation.
You could try a custom ROM but before flashing anything, it's a good idea to verify your bootloader and modem version.
If you are running an old bootloader and modem, you'll have to decide if you want to upgrade to use the latest custom ROMs or stick with your current bootloader and modem.

[solved] [Q] Unlock ATT I747 running CM11 with carrier unlock code?

I did a search and read through some of the old threads, but couldn't find an answer for my situation.
I received an unlock code from ATT, but want to know what I need to do in order to use it. Will it even work with the 4.3 bootloader? Do I need to flash the stock 4.3 ROM to use it?
Edit: it turns out that the bootloader was never updated to 4.3, so I just flashed the stock 4.1.1 ROM with Odin and unlocked using the free method here. Interestingly, the instructions and code provided by ATT didn't even work.
