I have plenty of space but I can't download anything.
I'm running nightly 6/2 CM 10.1.
Any help would be appreciated

Fixed it. Seems that Samsung is confused where to install apps. I used ROM toolbox and tried to change where apps were to be installed. For me it needs to stay auto. Hope this helps someone with the same problem

I got the same thing on stockrom, and I was convinced it was because I just did a nandroid backup before flashing a theme (and then restoring because it sucked). Looks like I'm re-installing rom toolbox pro!
Update: on the app2sd section, the storage was already set to auto. I tried setting to internal, and external, all 3 and I still get Insufficient Storage Available.

Ive been having issues installing apps and updates from both the android market and recently amazon market. I factory reset my phone and formatted the SD card and reinstalled all my apps and the SPRINT LOVERS ROM. its been working fine. TODAY it started again.. some apps I can not update and new apps I can not install. I either get a DOWNLOAD FAILED right away OR it downloads and looks like it is installing but I get PACKAGE FILE IS INVALID. I have googled for a solution and came up with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910956 BUT that didnt solve my issue.
What is causing this and how can I resolve? some apps DO update but tonight NEW apps dont install AND apps wont update ... please help...
Update: I think I figured the problem.. According to that OTHER thread I posted, it has to do with TOO MANY APPS on the phone and you run out of space in the CACHE FOLDER.. anyway, I UNINSTALLED 4 apps I really dont use and WALLA!!! the apps that would not update now update fine!!
why does this happen and how does one resolve? is there a limit to how many apps you can have? Im on sprint lovers ROM and with the apps it comes with and the apps I installed, it says 315 using SYSTEM APP REMOVER
If you have that many apps and want to keep all of them you need to consider Dark Tremor's a2sd. Also, you should clear your cache. I'm on the mobile app so if you want links or instruction, pm me our I'll try and get back to this post later.

If you want to use DTa2sd it is a relatively simple process to modify the boot image for Sprint Lover's and start using DTa2sd. The howto is here, post #4.

The reason this happens is that custom roms and kernels move your dalvik-cahce to the /cache mount. Android assumes that it is in the /data mount which is the same place your apps get installed and which is monitored by the system for low space. Basically the download had no place to go, giving you a download error (since the market uses /cache to store downloaded apps). Or if there was room for the downloaded file you get package error because the .dex file can't get created in your dalvik-cache.
Hope this helps.

Sorry nub Q,...
Best way to switch roms without losing all my apps every time... Running asop 4.2.1 and would like to check out a few others. But jus thinking about having to redownload all these apps and log in again makes me tired. Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions.

Titanium Backup.
Been some problems with titanium back up when flashing new roms, see galaxy nexus development threads for some examples, if you want a relatively failsafe method that stores your apps off phone you can use a file manager like astro to back up all your apps into apks then drop the backups into a folder on your computer via usb, along with any media or data you want preserved, then reload after fully wiping phone and flashing new rom, you might have to download a file manager to install the apks if rom doesnt have one. Gather you have a custom recovery installed, dont forget to update it prior to flashing new rom so you can recover if all doesnt go to plan. Good luck

If you're interested in using your PC to back things up, you may as well give apk batch installer a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531880
If you are using the latest version of titanium backup, you have the option of creating flashable zips of all your apps with data included. Tried it a few times and it seems to work flawlessly for me. The key is to avoid restoring any system apps. I have about 70+ apps to restore and setup. Before it would take me an hour or two, now is done in about 10 minutes.

That was very useful. First time to know such feature. It seems only available if you donate. Thanks anyway

Titanium backup is useless unless you actually have the pro version. Pro version makes it all one click, set it and forget it. Definitely recommend it for any custom rom flasher.

I'm still a noob about this phone so bare with me. I've recently flashed the Jedi X rom on and am loving it. I am having issues with some of the apps on the play store telling me that "Insufficient storage available" and cant download it. I do have a 32g microsd along with the the romtoolbox pro to have all my apps downloaded to the sd card. My apps show that its used only 703mb. If someone can help me solve this issue I would greatly appreciate it.
You install your apps onto the device and that part is called the sdcard. Your micro sd 64 gb is called externalsdcard. You probably didnt wipe your system data and/or backed up your phone using reovery onto your phone and didnt delete other stuff. Try going through your phone using the file manager as well as connecting it to the computer and youll find that your phone still has data on it that you didnt wipe. Think if it as you uninstalled the program but failes to delete the saved data and downloaded files. Hopes this helps

It's a bug that I dealt with yesterday. Your phone has plenty of storage but no matter what you do it won't install. Try going into recovery wiping caches and fixing permissions. Then try wiping data from play store and googlr frameworks setvices in your app settings. If that doesnt work, per google you're looking at a system format or do what i did and restore a nand backup.

I figured it out. Thanks for all the tips though. I am running rom toolbox pro and had my apps going to the sd. I switched it to auto and it worked like a charm. However, I did switch my rom to clean rom and everything seem to work better there. Thanks again.

I can't seem to get Google now to work anymore. It keeps crashing as soon as I give it a voice command.
For some reason now, it seems like my phone lost compatibility with lots of apps. I can't update top the latest versions of the apps and download apps directly through playstore app. On my laptop, the playstore site says the apps are compatible and "downloading" but I get nothing on my phone.
I ve done a clean install of the latest update and cleared data for the individual apps that I've had problems with but I'm still not seeing any changes.
Any idea what's going on here? Is this something everyone else is experiencing?
(Didn't want to post this in the Rom thread since these issues are not just about the Rom, i think)

I've been running his ROM for a long time and never experienced this issue... It might be your play store or gapps. I would download and flash his gapps again see if that fixes it.

Are you using a different dpi?
Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
It's the gapps that you flashed.. he posted an earlier build shortly after which fixed the issue (just have to update Google Search app in the Play Store). This was posted in the OP.
I'd probably fully wipe but at least system and both caches and reflash the latest ROM and gapps posted.

edit: Just noticed the post above saying the same thing. These are probably covered ad nauseam if you search in the QA thread as well.

I am. I changed it by editing the build.prop file. but even if i change it back to normal dpi, i still have the same issues. i just did a clean install of 5.5.13b update and still having same issues. im back at normal dpi.
is there a way to fix this?
explain clean install. i would recommend wiping data cache, dalvik, & formatting /system, /data & /media then flashing ROM/gapps. completely fresh start. what recovery do you use and what device was the version for (d2att, etc)?

clear data from play store and google services framework after reverting to stock dpi. then find a multidpi play store and flash it. then you can freely change the dpi.
I recently decided to try out multirom because I wanted to get the original paid plants vs. zombies on my blisspop rom. However I need market helper. So I set up blisspop, and flashed skydragon as my secondary rom. After flashing my apps backup, and redownloading TB I went to delete some bloatware. When I discovered that the only pane available at all on TB was overview. Back/restore doesn't even show up. Any ideas as to how to fix this?

I figured it out. Wrong backup location. Even though sdcard fix app from the playstore said skydragon had the fix already. For some reason TB couldn't write to extsd.
