My wife's Note 2 completely stock is having this strange problem. Out of nowhere it'll randomly open an app in the background and start playing whatever audio that may come from that app. Like if Pandora opens up it'll start playing whatever station she was listening to last. Or navigation will just start navigating out of nowhere. Very strange. Was wondering if anyone has had this problem or if my wife's phone just thinks it's traveling and wants some good music to listen to. Lol
Thanks

Do a factory reset.
Yep....
Sounds like the phone needs a cleaning. ..g
Alrighty then. I'll do a factory reset and see if that helps. Thanks for your help!

I have a weird problem with my phone. Every so often, my phone wjll vibrate twice, in two really short bursts that arent powerful at all. It is completely random. And whenever im playing music, it will stop the music for 5 seconds. If anyone knows what this is it would be greatly appreciated because this is happening on my new phone, as well as my last two galaxy s 2's (ive gotten 3 replacements)

What apps do you have that give off frequent notification? Do you have facebook, friendcaster, word w/f, etc.? Can you give us a small run down?
you can also download betterbatterystats (free here on XDA) and look at what frequently runs perhaps it appears as a wakelock.
or you can always look at logcat

It's a kernel crash. It's a part of android. It usually happens to let you know that it crashed but android reloads where it last left off. Hence the reason for the gap in music. If you press home immediately after you will catch it trying to finish reloading.

Try running master's kernel cleanser and reinstalling the kernel, that's a place to start

You will have to root first... Unless someone with more experience chimes in with a different idea

Is the same app running every time it happens? It may be a 3rd party app that isn't completely compatible running on your phone. Try deleting any third party widgeta.. then going into your task manager and clearing your memory. Then add one widget at at time til it starts doing it. If it doesn't do it, then open one of your e eryday apps at a time till you have the vibrating again. You may find some crappy lil app that you installed is causing all the problems.

Ill try that thanks

It would be great if you can give us more info on your phone. For example. What is the software or ROM are you currently using? Is it rooted? That just a start. More info the better.

Completely stock currently not even rooted and it happens to me. It is inconsistent as well. Facebook may even set it off. For some reason in or out of the car dock will do it almost every time.

Are you on the most up to date software. Have you updated it at all?

This has been happening to me for a while on my NS4G (On Sprint) too. Entirely stock, latest JB OTA still reproduces. It's awfully annoying. Sad to hear it happens on other phones too.

I am on the most current update. This started with the most current update.
On a second note I have now realized that if I am listening to my music on the phone over bluetooth and I receive a text message it will pause the song, play the notification, then start a completely different song from the beginning. I may have to go full wipe and see what happens.

If a full wipe fails too, you might have to try rooting and flashing a custom ROM and see if that fixes the issue. Or you can see if ATT can replace it for you.

The phone is not rooted. The phone is updated to the latest firmware.
Hi guys. I have a rooted at&t samsung note 2. I have this problem with my phone since I bought it. Each time I use the speakerphone or the video chat on Skype, Tango, or viber the other party stops hearing me! As if my mic stops working! This happens only if I turn the speaker on and not when I use earpiece! It doesn't happen when I do regular calls.
Not sure what the problem is. Is it compatibility issue or something wrong with my phone. The new update didn't fix it and it is really becoming a frustrating issue.
I appreciate your help.

I had the same issue, you a probably using a mod that is messing it up. Factory reset and see if it works. If it does then you know it was a mod of it doesn't then it is defective.

I did factory reset. Same problem . Do you think it is a hardware problem? Strangely, it does that only with Skype, Viber, Tango but not with the native phone app.. When I make regular phone calls the speaker phone works well as well as the mic.
Any other suggestion before I head back to AT&T store?
I appreciate any help.
The phone otherwise works great.
I have that e same problem. Did u fix urs?

I'm having a problem with Pandora keeping the screen on when plugged in to the aux port I have to lock the the screen or it won't time out and it has only happened since their latest update. I was wondering if I'm the only one with this problem or if someone could help me out. I'm on s3rx 2.0 and decimalman kernel if that helps

Revert to the old version?
Mine is doing the same thing. Pretty freaking annoying.
It is extremely annoying, I would assume it's a "feature" to the companies paying for video advertisement.
On that note, when video advertisements come on if you turn the screen off it skips the advertisement.
Making the iPhone jealous one user at a time.
Not only that but my girlfriends Pandora as well as mine keep randomly shutting off and freezing. any one else having these issues?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Ok guys, this is really stupid but I just figured this out. I feel like a total Herb for not noticing this earlier.
Open Pandora and go to the Settings tab. Go to Advanced. Put a check in the "Conserve battery" check box. Hit back. That's it. The screen will turn off on its own now.
I don't know why this option automatically changed itself in the new version of Pandora, but checking that box lets my screen auto shut off now.
Good lord.
Has anyone been having problems with you tube lately cuz mine has been pausing the image but the sound keeps playing any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Im having this same issue from time to time. N only way to fix this temporary is to reboot the phone.
I tried exiting/closing out all the programs including youtube n it still doesn't work. Only way to fix it at the spot is to reboot the phone. Pretty lame. I hope there's a fix for this!

Had the same issue. Smart stay is the culprit. To fix it I make sure smart stay is not check and cleared my cache when I restart my phone. Hope this helps.
