Cut a long story short, I got my new N7105 yesterday and rooted it straight away,
I then made a BIG mistake and installed a N7100 rom onto it which messed it all up and lost all reception on my phone.
couldnt make calls ect.
someone on here sent me a link to download the stock N7105 rom and it worked. i can now make calls ect.
BUT... since this has happened, i have not been on 4G once.
i've tried everything, been inside and outside, trying to get 4G.
before this all happened, i had 4G everytime i turned my wireless off.
I'm based in london UK, so there is really good 4G here.
anyone know the reason why i have lost my 4G?
do i need to download something to get it back?
Go to Settings > (Under Wireless and Networks) More Settings > Mobile Networks
and check what network mode it is set at.
It should be like the following:

yeah thats exactly how it is.
like i said, i've got reception, i get 3G, but just dont ever pick up 4G.
its as if i've done something wrong when installing the wrong rom and its messed up my 4G.
I presume your on EE?
You might want to check what network operator your phone is set to (it's right underneath Network mode)

Yes Mr.Larner is on EE T.Mobile
Also try switching between network modes (so switch to WCDMA and switch back to LTE) this used to happen to me until EE built more transmitter masts.

The only other thing that I can think of is that his APN might be incorrect. Can you link me to the stock ROM he flashed?

Hmmm, everything seems to be running perfectly, the only thing I suspect now is that your APN's maybe incorrect. I'm currently on the WanamLite ROM and I get 4G perfectly.

that is what even i am suspecting , had him call his service provider to check with that they ran couple of tests and said everything is fine
are you on same carrier if yes share your Settings ?
Yes I am on the same carrier. My settings are:
I just checked the EE forums and this is what the APN should look like:
Name = Internet
APN = everywhere (case sensitive)
Proxy = Leave Blank
Port = Leave Blank
Username = eesecure
Password = secure
Server = Leave Blank
MMSC = Leave Blank
MMS proxy = Leave Blank
MMS port = Leave Blank
MCC = 234
MNC = 30
Authentication type = PAP
APN type = default
APN protocol = IPv4
Bearer = Unspecified
Finally after a lot of juggling around flashed WanamLite rom with custom kernel now Mr Larner has his smooth 4g back.

Hey there everyone
first time post on this forum. Hopefully someone can give me some good news on how to fix my problem.
I am on the Fido network in Vancouver, BC. I recently bought a Sony Arc from Rogers and had it unlocked. Everything on the phone works great, but I cannot get my mobile hotspot to work. Wifi, GPS, email, etc. all work fine.
I had read somewhere that I might have to change my APN settings, but when I did that, flash turned off on my web browser - maybe I had put in the wrong setting.
Then I also read that you have to change your WAP settings, but I don't know where to find that.
Hopefully someone here can give me some good news on how to fix this bug. I did phone both Fido and Rogers and they said that it should work and that nothing is blocked on my account.
Would really appreciate some feedback and some help with thanks. Thanks in advance.

Nothing to do with you're APN's etc if that' not working... if you're getting a data connection (GPRS/ 3G/ HSDPA) then this should work fine...
if it's not then suggest trying to reflash the firmware using SEUS or Flashtool.

Weird. Most of that doesn't make sense. Adobe Flash is unaffected by APN settings. Unlocking has nothing to do with 3G either.
A quick Google search turns up:
APN Settings for Fido: http://forums.fido.ca/t5/forums/forumtopicpage/board-id/Smartphones/thread-id/768/page/1
Like im_iceman said, if 3G works, hotspot should also.
Have you set the password? SSID? etc.?
Hotspot works fine on my arc. And X10.
Portable Hotspot Doesn't Work For Me Either
I purchased an Xperia ARC from Mobicity in Australia. In order to work on the NextG 850 MHz network I purchased the Model LT15a which is described at dudubdub.xperiablog.net/2011/04/17/xperia-arc-lt15a-sold-on-ebay/ (replace dubdubdub with www). This is built for and branded Rogers. If I switch on Portable Wi-Fi hotspot it works so that I can connect my laptop to it but turns off my data connection so it is useless. If I turn the hotspot off the data connection comes back on. I can't have the data connection and the wi-fi hotspot on at the same time.
I've interpreted this as a Rogers special build that doesn't allow tethering to satisfy Rogers commercial requirements. Telcos in Australia don't mind tethering but some others do and I guess Rogers is one of them. Its a guess though because I don't know Rogers policies.
Sounds like Rogers have added some power saving app, and this is automatically disabling your data connection when WiFi is on (JuiceDefender does this I think, but might be intelligent enough to notice when you're using the phone as a hotspot - I've not tried yet).
If that's the case, you'll either need to track down the app and remove it (there's a guide on here somewhere for removing pre-installed system apps) or flash your phone with more generic firmware that doesn't have it.
The phone is set to auto (LTE/GSM/WCDMA), all I get now is HSPA+.
Anyone else lost the access to LTE network?
Im with Bell Mobility btw.
Yeah same for me with Rogers
I'm on AT&T but had the same issue. When in Network Mode, change it to LTE only then turn the radio on and off, after that I was able to get LTE working again. Once I changed it back to LTE/GSM/WCDMA It still kept LTE on as usual.

With Bell there is no 4G, it either indicates H+ or LTE.
I still get LTE (where available) on Jelly Bean.

No 4G LTE on AT&T GSG3
I have AOKP JB 42 on my AT&T SGS3. After installing the Rom I am just seeing 4G icon instead of 4G LTE. I don't see any change in the speed though. Is this a known thing? or should I be changing some setting to get back the 4G LTE Icon?

I am going nuts here I have been searching all over the net and I still have not been able to fix this problem, so I am sorry if this seems like a repeated thread.
I have a Tmobile rooted Samsung Galaxy S III, I was running a nightly Cyanogenmod 10 ROM. Yesterday there was an update for that rom and I downloaded it and installed it, everything was fine and running smoothly until some people started telling me that they were not able to reach me by phone. I tried checking what was wrong and I finally realized that whenever I have my mobile data on or while I am using it I don't receive voice calls. I tried looking everywhere for a way to fix this and I came across the ##DATA# code in which I could turn off the DDTM option but unfortunately my phone doesn't recognize that code.

this is the message I get every time I try to enter ##3282# code.
I thought that maybe something was wrong with the ROM itself so i decided to browse around here for one for my Tmobile samsung galaxy S 3 and I decided to install this one [ROM][4.2.2][RC1] LiquidSmooth ROMs - d2tmo - 2|14|13
after wiping data/cache and dalvik cache I installed this ROM and this is my current phone info
and still when I am using my mobile data I cant receive calls nor put the ##DATA# code to turn off DDTM.
is there any other way I could access that DDTM option? I am so frustrated or maybe I am doing something wrong.. I do admit I am no pro at this.
it seems that no matter what ROM I use that option to send calls to voicemail while on mobile data is stuck!!!
I tried downloading the stock ROM from Tmobile and flash it with Odin but every time I tried to do this the process would be stuck at aboot.mbn.
This is driving me crazy, everything works fine on my phone except for that, I cant receive calls if I use my internet, I am afraid of using it because I might lose some important calls.
Please if any of you could help me I will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I've never had this problem with my phone until now. I would be browsing the net and get an incoming call, now my phone never rings unless the internet is off. It is annoying and I cant find a good fix for this, I am going insane,
Check your IMEI. You can use cell data and phone calls on GSM which is T-Mobile, only HSPA though, not on edge. You cannot on CDMA like Verizon on any cell network. I say check your IMEI cause you might only have edge network due to the loss of your IMEI while flashing.

That's not proof that it's working. That's proof that the phone is seeing the LTE band. Mine sees it also but I can't actually connect to it. It clearly says unregistered on the screen shot on the top. When connected it says "sending & receiving" or active

That's proof. How you get that to connect. I'm on automatic and get only 3g and the APN setting gets blocked. If I go to setting through root and change to LTE/gsm auto prl. I get only 3g. The phone sees the same LTE band your on but it won't connect. Only time it did was when I was using activate phone but it would not show accurate signal meter and then reverted back to 3g when it failed to activate
Used my msl to get into data and added tmobile apn. Left it on automatic and it connects perfect. Only thing I noticed is when using the apn fast.t-mobile.com, is you have to put it in like this. fast.tmobile.com. works fine.
Sent from my SM-G928P using Tapatalk
When I go into ##data# with edit using msl I still can't add or edit APN. It's working right now. But it's on LTE/GSM auto prl in device I go using advanced signal status app, which shows up as LTE GSM UMTS In mobile networks>network mode Only thing is the signal meter is not reading accurate and I have to make a call every few hours to get LTE to connect again. Going to try automatic again. I upgraded to latest update yesterday
I'll have to check again. I'll let you know in the morning

It works on tmobile
If you can get into GCF SETTING CHANGE NETWORK BANDS TO GSM/WCDMA/LTE. ONCE THAT'S DONE RESTART PHONE AND DIAL ##DATA# HIT EDIT ENTER YOUR MSL CODE.. NEXT HIT LTE THEN HIT LTE ROAMING MAKE SURE IT'S ENABLED.. PRESS BACK ON YOUR PHONE TO SAVE THE SETTINGS... NOW THE LAST THING YOU NEED TO DO IS MAKE SURE IN YOUR T-MOBILE APN SETTINGS BEARER IS SET TO LTE ONLY.. SAVE THE APN SETTINGS AND REBOOT PHONE AND BOOM YOU HAVE YOUR SPRINT UNLOCK EDGE PLUS WORKING ON T-MOBILE LTE.. RECEIVING AND SENDING MMS WON'T WORK UNTIL YOU UNDO ALL SETTINGS AND PUT BACK THE PHONE TO WORK ON 3G.

Have you tried to switch the sims between the devices?
I am noticing this same thing on T-Mobile with the Pixel after coming from the Nexus 6P. Did you ever get an answer to this?
There is an option to reset the cellular network in settings. I was roaming in South Korea for the last 3 weeks with the pixel xl and didnt have any issues. Roaming is set off by default.
Any update
Any update to this? I just discovered that I'm experiencing the same thing.
I have the same issue. I can put my SIM back in my Nexus 5x, roaming works. In my Pixel, it can call and text, but no data.
Does it work temporarely when you turn on and off the flightmode?
i have the same problem but it sometimes works temporarily when I manually switch to another network while roaming
Mine did the same, went into mobile network settings, network operators, search networks and then choose automatically. Also make sure data roaming is on.
The phone then started working for roaming, in one country I had to do this twice before it picked it up
Change the APN Protocol (not for roaming protocol) to IPV4/V6.
You could also go into the testing menu (dial *#*#4636#*#* - phone information) to global auto but I think that setting gets reset every now and then.
Was working on my first trip overseas two mons ago. Same location as before but now i
I am am also on T-Mobile. On my first trip to Nicaragua two months ago my pixel work fine. Now my phone will connect to the network for phone calls and SMS, but will not connect to the data services. I have it turned on for data roaming in the settings. My wife's S5 is also on T-Mobile and connects to data just fine. T-MOBILE reset me several times. I will get a message then from Claro or Movistar saying no data because your data roming is off. No matter if I have it switched to on or off after resting I will get the message everytime.
I was having this same issue in Thailand and not Japan. Changing to ipv4/v6 didn't help but explicitly changing to 3g preferred instead of LTE preferred fixed it for me
Posting this to add the list of things that may work..
I have a Pixel 2 and was having this same issue with a Twilio sim card (runs on T-Mobile) while in Australia, New Zealand, and later in Ireland (home network is USA). I had tried all kinds of random APN tweeks mentioned in this thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/help/international-data-roaming-to-t2823789) with no success. I had also contacted google and they sent me a whole new pixel 2 but that made no difference. After much googling heres what I found:
Edit the APN settings and click the APN Type. Add "default" to the beginning of that list. Try and save, it will tell you that you can't set the type to default, that's fine. Press the home button and re-navigate to the mobile settings and default should be successfully saved in the APN type. That alone resolved the data connection issues for me but I was only getting H internet rather than LTE. I then also changed the MVNO setting to `SPN` and suddenly got LTE connectivity.
