Thank you.

Just in case some of you may not know, but none of the CWM or TWRP
flashable custom roms here in XDA come with a modem/radio.
So what happens is, when flashing any of these zip file custom roms they do not
over write the existing modems since these custom roms have no modem in em.
That''s why it's safe to flash the i9505 roms, however this does not mean that you can flash any custom
roms, only certain Galaxy S4 roms are safe to flash unless the devs port a Verizon rom for example.
I already flashed the i9505 rom and it worked just fine, but basically it's not much if any different than the M919 Tmobile
roms. There is one thing which you will loose if you do flash a i9505 rom, you will no longer have wifi calling.
Good luck.

Ooo, did not know that the modem had no roms, now I know, and that's right, you have reason, be careful with the roms you flashed, should be similar to international models. In this case I337 and M919 models are similar to the I9505 international rom quadcore (i9500 not! Octa) And finally, if lost wifi calling, but in my country MX, operators do not have that yet, maybe in some future , but when you need it the original rom I can find it.
Greetings.

You don't have to make sure because NONE of the custom roms come or came with a modem image.
All the developers have know not to include modems in any of these custom roms for many years now.

Normally I Would't Suggest Flashing another carrier ROM but For Some reason People have Figured it out on the Note 11 far the first time I'Ve Seen.So for my own curiosity and im sure others as well. Lets try to make a list of all the compatible non T-Mobile roms for the Note II.
AT&T - JELLYBEER
At&T - JELLYBAM
AT&T - CleanRom
N7105 - International LL1
AT&T - JellyThunder
If you are new to flashing, please dont be the first to try new Roms. And apparently no 7100 roms!!!
Ive read somewhere we can flash any US Variant Rom as long as no modem or radio is included. But I find that hard to believe. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
If I'm missing any Rom's, will happily add to list

I know for a fact (as I have tried myself) AT&T, T-Mobile (obviously), 7105, and Sprint. Sprint did require a kernel flash (boot.img). Otherwise a modem flash is required (unless the Rom does not flash the modem, then you need not flash a modem)
Basically here is how it works:
T-Mobile : ROM
AT&T: ROM, modem
7105: ROM, modem
Sprint: ROM, modem, kernel
I would guess, Verizon would work the same as Sprint.
Sent from my SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
EDIT: had to add AOSP kernels are not the same as stock Samsung kernels. Basically for AOSP kernel get the boot.img from your CM7/AOKP/PA whatever AOSP ROM for your phone (I took it from madmack's CM10 and applied it to the Sprint PA ROM)

There is a dev, Teshxx who is doing a fine job of porting international and roms from other carriers. He uses the rom for a base and adapts it to the T889. The N7105 roms are stock samsung, no carrier bloat.

Hi there guys. I too can confirm this. The all us carrier deal anyway. There are easy ways and there are better or right ways. The easy way only really requires a few lines swapped and or deleted on the rom you want and the rom your specific device requires. I've tested twice. Sprint and att via testing the two ports done by a few verizon users . However from what we've experienced ( mind you this us s3 and not note 2) you don't have to flash or worry as far as I've noticed any radios or rpm as those are written to the partitions via your ota or flashing seperately ..And we also flashed different kernel. This is just more testimony and not saying I know any facts or that I personally port or figured this out on my own. A couple of very nice devs in our verizon forum shared this info. And now many are succeeding. Thanks and hope I'm not jacking your note 2 thread. Lol

What kernel is everyone using on their Tmobile Note II, when its needed? Perseus?
Also can someone shoot me a link to the modem they flashed on their Tmo Note II?

Hey guys I just thought I would share that I have successfully flashed both AT&T Rom along with a Verizon Rom (JellyBeans 9). I know the AT&T one is a little more known however I couldnt find one to do with Verizon. So all you have to do is download the Rom of your choice and flash it, then you have to flash the Tmobile Modem and you should be set to go! Hope this helps some people as I contemplated flashing a Verizon Rom on my Note 2. I have also tried International Roms with no luck sadly. This is a community based thread and I couldnt do it without some of the help from you guys, everyone deserves the "Thanks" I get!

Yes it works I started a thread about this a week ago in general forum. Flash rom then kernel and modem for tmobile. If you download a rom that doesn't give you data, once you flash rom and its booted up, turn on wifi and go to market to download hiapn and itll help restore apn settings giving you data again. Every rom ive tried has workes. Verizon, tmobile, sprint, and at&t.

I tried jelly beans rom which was pretty good just didn't like battery life. I'm now on a AT&T ROM right now which is cleanrom I'm staying on this one for awhile.
Just wanted to say you really shouldn't even need to flash a modem unless the rom your wanting to flash contains a modem. If the rom contains a modem then you'll need to flash a T-Mobile modem otherwise you will still have the same modem you had before flashing.

I have a question regarding my SGH-M919V as well. After I upgraded to 5.0.1 I haven't been able to turn on my WiFi or Bluetooth. I'm brand new to rooting and flashing and am just starting to understand the difference between bootloaders and modems and roms and all that. Well, my question is how can I fix my WiFi? I've read a ton of forums where people have similar issues and there are fixes, but often for the american Galaxy S4 (as far as I understand it). Should I downgrade to 4.2.2 to fix WiFi? Is there a kernel I can install that will fix it?
Thanks in advance, I appreciate anyone who respond's patience,
D
Based on my research, that's a Canadian S4. They're intended for a subset of Canadian mobile providers: in this case, Wind, Mobilicity, Videotron, and Eastlink. There is also an SGH-I337M (this time a variant on the AT&T version) intended for use with Rogers, Telus, and Bell.
Edit: only issue across the borad is that theres no wifi calling. But nfc, data, mms, calls and text working. Incase people wanted to know but not willing to risk their phone being brocked, I've now successfully flashed a couple custom roms for every carrier including international roms. I installed rom, then tmobile csc files to get data and what not working and a tmobile based kernel. I'm currently using an aosp themed rom in the sprint forum, been using all day and no issues. Milage may vary, but I didn't want to point out its possible to flash all note 3 roms. Cheers

Good topic. I was watching a YouTube vid about flashing the international LTE type roms and it seemed to work fine just as long as you used compulsion kernel and some kinda wifi/Bluetooth/NFC flashable fix. I had a note 3 a while back and I'm getting a new one on Monday (super excited) so I'm really curious about this cuz I'd really like to have some more rom options. Is your mms working too?

Mms, data, tethering, wifi everything works. What I did learn though is that it's best to start from stock tmobile rom in our dev section then once that's all booted up go to recovery and flash the rom you want without wiping data then cc files and tmo kernel. A few roms wouldn't get data unless I placed a call 1st after rebooting.

Download Darthstalker ROM and pull the CSC folder from /system/csc/ then put it in the INT ROM of your choice. I do it this way since the CSC_TMO from miscom causes PHONE app to FC when trying to make a call. I use WINRAR to open and repack ROM files.

I have flashed virtually every 9005 rom out there - and as long as you flash the Blue tooth Wifi Fix file mentioned earlier (from the stainless rom post) everything works beautfiully well.
I also use a variety of kernels - Compulsion - saber - and a few others work fine.
I had also flashed several Verizon ROMS - Hyper Drive is awesome -
BUT, I have never needed to flash the CSC files - Flash Rom - flash Wifi Fix - Flash Kernel - reboot - all is good.
Just thought I would share..

That isn't true of custom roms.
The reason why I change CSC files is because some roms prevent you from editting the APN protocol so you can change IP4 to IP6. It's all user preference really and depends on the ROM you're using.

It is not that I don't like custom ROM's. I have had car bluetooth issues with custom Kitkat. Also I use S-View a lot....something that is not possible out of box in Custom Kitkat.
I found a 4.4.2 Official ROM has been released in Europe for snapdragon 600 processors (i9505)

I never developed Custom ROM's before. My experience stays with flashing ROM's.
Would appreciate any tips or help to install a official samsung 4.4.2 on my T-Mobile M919.

You should lurk in the 9505 forums. Devs there should have one available soon. Usually can be flashed fight to our phones once they make it a flashable zip

i9505 - Compatibility with M919
Thank you for the Golden Eye ROM link.
Is it fine to flash it in M919? I know they have a common processor.
Not sure if it is safe to try.
Thanks, Ari
i9505 and m919 are as close as identical as you can get. btw this is Q&A
Does this version still retain the same issues on our phone such as Wi-Fi, storage, and security settings?

Looks like you have a custom Kernel on your M919. Let me know what it is. Can it be used in 4.4.2?
If anyone flashes Goldeneye, would you kindly post your experience. Does it work? Your specific steps to get it working? I don't use Bluetooth, but my issue is the camcorder performance on non Touchwiz roms. I think this thread will probably be moved to Q&A so I'll check back there. Wish there were a thread over there dealing with flashing other carriers' roms. I'd try it if I knew it worked out well for others.

Yes, I've read that guide before but somehow it seems vague. It doesn't specify the Rom version tested, the exact kernel tested, and the info might be outdated. The link to Goldeneye for the T-Mobile S4 is a link to a closed thread that apparently used to be on the T-Mobile GS4 Android Development forum. But thanks anyway :good:
Ok OP, I looked everywhere, where is the link to your ROM!?
Oh, that's right, another case of not reading before posting - itus

Try WanamLite. He just updated his ROM to 4.4 too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283194
I would think you would need their bootloader to run any of these roms. I hope I am wrong but I will wait for someone to try it first.
I am running Wananlite. It works.

Try typing that same exact phrase into the search bar "flash other carrier's roms" in either General or Q&A and be amazed.
Could not flash. Failed.

Non-T-Mobile ROMs lack Wifi Calling, just an fyi if you depend on it on your house like I do.

I'm asking if you know of any non-banned kernel that works?
