Hi everyone!
I am new in XDA Developers. I was actually following the "[GUIDE] Downgrade G2 (2.3.X) & DZ (2.3.X) & mT4g (2.3.4) & DHD w/ S-ON to Stock Froyo". I made it safely and confidently to the I-4) where I got to download the stock rom but surprise! None of the 3 links for the G2 is working. All broken! Which broke my heart too. I am desperatly trying to find this stock rom somewhere on XDA Developers as I don't really trust other random websites. So my question is:
Where can I get this stock rom? Do you have a working link?
The stock rom for G2 is supposed to be called : PC10IMG_Vision_TMOUS_1.19.531.1_Radio_12.21.60.09b _26.02.01.15_M2_release_149459_signed.zip

look in the opening post of the thread you linked, there should be (toward the top) a link to strawmetals pdf guide. try this as i believe he has all files current. And many say its easier to follow

Oh thanks! I did not noticed when I was reading it that there could be some differences with the html version.
I am going to follow the pdf right now and will let you know.

And this should have really been posted in the Slide Q&A Forum...
But, with that said, these rooting instructions work perfectly fine on a Mac.
I just need a little information before i attempt to root my phone, I have the latest update on my phone. T-Mobile. Which guide should I follow? and Which one is the easiest? Thank you!

I just rooted two g2's with it. AND THE DEVELOPMENT SECTION? Unless you know how to cook ROMs dont hit new thread button in any development section.

follow this, the cyanogen wiki, or strawmetals pdf guide. do not follow any guide other than these three. they are all essentially the same but the only tried and true method

So I have searched the forums and I have found nothing on rooting the Telus DHD with 2.3.5? I don't know if the Advanced Ace will work because I'm in Canada? I also have read that it wont work with my current DHD or i need to downgrade? iunno, I'm confused. I'm relatively new to the whole "rooting" thing and I have been satisfied with the DHD until now. I was using Go launcher EX so my phone was alright, now im just bored and looking for an upgrade.
If there is already a forum can someone please point me in the correct way. I have tried to download some of the files here including the stock rom file....

The Hack Kit is the only working tool to gain S-OFF and as you read your phone will be downgraded first to achive that (done by the Hack Kit). Use the guide in my signature to find the infromation you need and if you have doubts, visit the thread in my signature. :good:

i have desire hd and i wanna root it and put JellyTIme cuz i heard its the best ROM.
but can somebody give me the full instructions step by step how to do that cuz im a noob in that.
my android version is:2.3.5
and if i do something wrong what can happens?
Search for Advance Ace Hack Kit on Google. If not, look in the Desire HD General section for Ace Think Tank and look there, the team over there (me included ) will help you out

Yes, first get AAHK, unfortunately it has been removed from XDA, you you must google for it. I have made a small guide on rooting and backing up apps prior to flashing new ROMs, might shed some light too: http://projects.lanik.org/AndroidProjectROMs.htm

The ONLY working tool is the Hack Kit as everybody said. Find it here: http://tau.shadowchild.nl
As long as you follow the instructions in the Site and in the effen manual and your phone has no hardware issues, you will be fine and nothing will happen. The Hack Kit has been used thounsand of times successfully. You even have an IRC support channel in case you get stuck, besides the thread that Guy told you. :cyclops:
before you use the hack kit, be aware that it will downgrade your os, root it, s-off, and delete all user data.
