Which rom have the Best performance in XP. - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, well this is a hard question, i like to know what rom are you using and Why?, because im flashaholic Ill try a lot of roms like gin2jelly, Atomic, aroma, miui, etc, but i still using the true ancestor 1.6 because for me this rom its fast, If i dont want open my XP i can play with the virtual jostik and have a battery life very acceptable..
Sent from Xperia Play with Tapatalk 2 Pro

in my option gin2jellybean is best in xp and futures and everything
i didint have any lag till now and everything is working great for me in v2.4

Last night i install gin2jelly 2.4.0 this from q clean install.. First install 2 3.0 and later the patch.. And i dont know If im the only one with this issue, but in all the games i test the virtual jostick doesnt works, or the buttons on screen, this like the touch doesnt Work, i really freak out because i think my touch era brocken, but when i get back to my nandroid of true ancestor everything going fine again. So tell me one of you have the same issue than i?
Im using lupus Kernel v10..

Performance
Best Gaming performance? Stock Rom (GingerBread) + Custom Kernel (Lupus v10 GB) for max and stable fps.
After a lot of time passing flashing roms, i found that all the "performance scripts" or "boosters" are causing fps drops in games, or they are placebo effects.
I tried flashing several versions of "Gin2JellyBean" but the only things i liked of this rom are the keyboard and the sound quality. Adrenobooster give me fps drops so i always delete it.
The custom rom that gave me best results after deleting Adrenobooster and init.d scripts is "Bane of Speed v4", that have almost the same gaming performance of the stock rom.
If the gaming isnt ur priority, you can go with Gin2JellyBean without Adrenobooster that have the best features.

[Q] TDKR and NFS Most Wanted problem

I have a problem with both games installed, I need to install chainfire3d so that NFS MW would work (black screen problem), but when I install chainfire3d, TDKR shows graphical problems, I tried messing with the per-app setting but still no progress
What should I to so I can keep both games without switching chainfire3d on and off? thanks in advance
In case you need my device's details:
R800i
ROM: NXT 1.3 LE
Kernel: DooMKernel

You are using a very good gaming rom and one of the best kernels out there. I dont think there is a need for chainfire. When you enable chainfire it tries to reduce the graphics for better performance but in TDKR it will only mess it up.
I dont really know what the problem is. Have you tried overclocking??
I use chainfire so that I can play NFS most wanted, I'm getting the black screen problem (only UI and taillights are visible) if I don't use chainfire with the powerVR plugin
Solution? Use de-bloated stock ROM. Nuff said.

Excuse me, is there a MORE debloated stock rom than NXT LE???
I admire the talents of our devs but I just don't trust custom ROMs. Debloated as they may be, devs usually add features that are not to my liking. If you ask TLRTheory, he'll tell you the same... That the best ROM is stock ROM. My point here is that to be able to properly play games without having to add mods and tweaks time and again is to play using a stock ROM debloated to the brim so as to boost performance.

As much as I respect tlrtheory an like his viedeos on YouTube I would have to disagree with you both nxt le is the fastest rom I've ever used more so than a debloated stock
But tbh it does all come down to personal opinion
And the joy of of being able to tweak stuff to get Better performance and even messing up really bad and having to start over again is good learning but again everything comes down to opinion and preference

your issue really is not with a specific rom but with a specific game, what i can advise you is to try different set ups, different governors, try with andreno boosters, or maybe try with gaming mode with boost my xperia app, its really hard to advise a rom for you my friend since i think your main goal is to optimized a game which is NFS. but hopefully trying out my suggestions could help you
I'm using AuroraPlay and feeling satisfied with it. It's fast, lightweight and the performance is great. However, don't expect to run heavy games without lags. You can't force a 2-year old android phone to play modern heavy graphical games

[Q] ROM recommendation with some criterias

hello and good day
after a lot of rom try-outs i'm getting crazy not finding the "perfect" rom for me. i think here are some people flashing roms all day so perhaps you can recommend me a rom with the following criteria:
what i want:
- music player integration into lockscreen
- lockscreen pattern should be seen -without- "slide-to-unlock" (double unlocking like in stock-rom does not make sense to me)
- battery life and gaming performance
- quick-toggles in notification area
- reliable and rock solid stable because i don't want to think about roms anymore
- of course i like to play from time to time
i tried
- dixperia 2 (didn't like it because of branding, dixperia branding and wooden backgrounds everywhere)
- nxt 1.3 (this was the rom of my choice but the new lockscreen took sometimes more than a second to appear)
- jokawild v3 (like nxt a good and solid rom but there was a bug in the wifi-toggle - didn't work sometimes)
- xperia z 1.1 (ICS, by markphyton) (the best ics i've tried so far. everything works except the sony playstation emulator and real racing FC sometimes if it runs out of ram)
it's not easy to find the right one and i don't want to flash every rom in this forum. i have work to do
if nxt 1.3 by krisdee would have pattern-unlock without the slide-to-unlock-screen and if the new lockscreen would be visible as i press the home button - this would be my favourite.
Well Havent tried gin2jellybean or auroraplay. Here's a screenshot of gin2jellybean lock screen. And it has great battery and performance. Aurora play is also great and I can't choose between them it all depends on what kind of look you want. I don't currently Havent auroraplay screenshots but check out the thread I'm sure youll like both. But if you wanna flash a Rom and not anymore afterwards. Then aurora play would be better for you since there is a final version coming soon while gin2jellybean gets constant updates which is something I like

thanks for the response!
yesterday and today i thought about one of these two.
i was close to flash gin2jellybean but i've read that there are new bugs in every new version when he tried to fix other ones. this avoids me to flash this rom as i don't really have the time to twist my mind about it.
auroraplay seems promising. do you know how updates are handled there? if i flash 0.9 now should i make a full wipe when 1.0 is out or can i just flash it over and keep my preferences and data?

The bugs are usually small and irrelevant but if you want wait a couple days spizzy said he's going to release a new version of aurora play that might be the final if no bugs are found. It think they're both great Roms made by great developers and youll probably like both. Gin2jellybean hardcore of the great jelly bean features while keeping the stability of gb and aurora play had an Xperia z look which also looks great. Really it comes down to your own preferences

flashed gin2jellybean yesterday and i have to say that it does not feel polished.
bugs like images in mms force closes messanges app, add-new-message-button is not themed, battery life feels very short.
i ended up installing NXT 1.3 by krisdee. never had any problems with this (except i can't flash 36 baseband with the new lockscreen).
battery life is awesome, fluid in games, great lockscreen, never noticed any bugs (had it a few months last year).
for a hasslefree experience i recommend DiXperia2, NXT 1.3. both are really bug free as i can tell, have the best battery life and so on.
i'll have a look at AuroraPlay when it is really finished.
but for now NXT 1.3 was and is my favourite i have to say.

Most of stock ROMs are laggy. GB/ICS

Like title say I have a problem with all stock based ROMs. Most of them are laggy in games and in launcher too (but in launcher is not that heavy). I have suspicious that is issue of my phone because people say that for them is ROM lagless. It's interesting because CM9 is nearly lagless but in all GB/ICS stock based ROMs i experince lags with/without overclock. Any ideas what's wrong with my phone?

I dont think its your phone, its the apps that you install like facebook, line etc..and new roms are with adrenobooster and this mod is sometimes couse lag too.try to delete them.

I have tried adrenobooster 3 times on three different roms, all getting severe lag. Although I appreciate the devs work I found adrenobooster to be a massive hit to performance.

Yes i have installed apps like Facebook etc. but i'm using greenify (on ICS of course). It's the app that freeze apps like facebook so no RAM eating from them. In GB is different but still with those apps i have about 180 MB RAM free. I deleted AdrenoBooster and performance is little bit better but not good. Mystery is that when i use CM9 based ROMs lags are gone.

Adreno booster is really great think but not for me. Yeah in some apps is really big performance boost but in others there's huge performance downgrade. So i think that for me is better living without AdrenoBooster

The best so far that I stuck on using is Xperia Nxt 1.3 by Kris dee. I've tried lots of ROM and I think this is the most stable yet beautiful. Flexible also because you can install facebook, timescape, twitter, battery widgets, maps, walkman, by your choice. Can't wait to the next update. I have lots of applications that I installed now but still no lag and still 110mb free on phone memory.

that's what i'm saying when i recommend a rom then it's nxt 1.3.
also for me it's the best, stable as stock, all the special features like quick panels and walkman in lockscreen, the "good" clock app from other sony phones (with timer and stop watch). it never let me down and the battery life in combination with the good old doomkernel seems also unbeatable.
used it over 6 months - then i tried a lot of other roms. now i'm back again.

Some custom ROMS are just for your eyes only. Just to tell your friends you got ICS or JB even your phone is 2011 model. The thing with those ROMS is they remove the Sony UI which is I believe the most professional looking UI on androids than Samsung/LG/Moto/Htc. Some ROMS will even remove the functionality of the gaming pad of the xperia play. We bought the PLAY for that reason. For "GAMING" ....

[Q] Which GB rom and kernel are the best for gaming?

My question is the same as the title, but I'm kind of confused as to which rom for GB is for gaming. I know about Xperia NXT Gaming edition and Bane of Speed, but I just can't figure out which would run the best. The same thing goes for with the kernels. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it muchly. Thanks!

what types of game that u really want to play if u get a gaming rom?
I agree, there are way too many roms and kernels for the xplay, even though i was pretty happy with my debloated stock rom, it still didnt had recovery or the ability to overclock/tweak so i decided to first try a kernel: doomkernel v14. It is only the kernel so you can keep everything (apps&data) including the rom and still tweak it. I also installed V6 supercharger script but this might be too complicated to configure for most. So i suggest, first try doomkernel v14, it gives you recovery so you can flash any rom you want if you are still not satisfied with it.

Like, emulation and other straining things. I'm also thinking about overclocking and getting an extended battery too, but I don't want it to explode from overclocking. I'm thinking about trying 1.6 ghz at first and trying it at 1.8.

Ultimate HD v6 is the best one I ever tryed, you can easily get 150mb free ram with whatsapp and messenger open, when you use greenify is 213mb. And also this rom have great battery life even overclocked at 1,2 , this ROM is good for daily use and gaming(emulators and android games in general).
