[Q] Xperia SP bought at ebay-screen damage? - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hi, I bought a Xperia SP from eBay.
200€ unused. After opening the box the screen was on.
It shows the home screen but no matter which buttons (hardware or screen) I press, nothing happens.
The clock shows always the same time.
Anyways, the battery drain seems to be very low. After two days it is still on.
I read about hardware off, but it doesn't work. Any solution?

WTH?? Are you sure that there is no any sticker on the screen?? Try to press VOL+ and the power bottom for 10 seconds.

Oh Man REally???
How is this even possible.
Return Back The Phone. Get back the Money

I tried to pull of the sticker, if it was one. But there is no sticker.
One other thing that is crazy : the screen seems not to be backlit, like other phones.
When the room light is off, the screen is visible, but not lightened like my other phones...
This is weird....I feel like I am beeing fooled...

Okay guys, I am so sorry I wanted to keep this joke going, but you guys are really kind and I don't want to misuse it any longer.
This phone indeed is a dummy. After reading only about the damn JellyBean update all the days I thought it would be funny to talk about something else.
Please don't verbal-kill me, it was just a joke and I apologize.
Have a nice evening everybody.

It's a fake, and everything in your story tells you it's fake : screen on out of the box (still running after 2 DAYS, that's 48h of screen on time), not responsive, not backlit, clock stuck, half the price, bought on eBay :/ open it up, pretty sure you won't even find a battery in there.
I'm wondering if your post is legit, and I'm only answering because if this is real, you must feel quite bad. Get your money back.

I knew that , this is the reason why i told you to remove sticker on screen because normal phone don't show the device hardware on it

Yeah I knew it wouldn't take long
It's kinda funny knowing even this could surely happen to someone.
So again please forgive me
By the way: I got this dummy for my two years old son who must have heard me complaint about this Sony and JellyBean thing and already threw my working Acro S to the ground

Nothing in either sopt for me. I have a minuscule amount creaking up at the very top of the battery door. Just have to push the battery over up a little bit and it goes away.
No creaking for me in those spots or anywhere else.
Ah, I have that creaking...but I have to push very hard. Bought mine via Expansys. Doesn't bother me too much. OP, how much pressure do you have to apply to make it creak?
Yea I definitely have the creaking when I press down around and below the camera. It's annoying b/c that's usually where I rest my finger when I'm on the phone. Is it worth trying to get the device replaced?
It always is and always will be user preference. Some people have lower thresholds for the little annoying things. Getting it replaced is solely up to you. For me, it's not a big enough issue.
No issue here. Sorry.

I have to press a little hard to hear the crunch, I think plastic phones always crackle a bit , whenever I can live with this if not worse

[Q] Physical Battery is Stuck

Hey guys,
I'm trying to remove the battery to replace with a 3800mah one, but it's stuck and I can't get it out. I've tried wedging the damn thing out and it still doesn't work. I'm pretty sure I destroyed the battery because I can't turn my phone on now, I just want this thing out, what should I do?

But the phone turned on before? What compelled you to need to take out the battery in the first place? Sounds defective from the start.

@op - try using a screwdriver or something to pry the battery out...if you are screwing around i'm going to be mad..i'm assuming its really stuck and you have taken the battery door off.
It's actually stuck lol, i've watched videos where it seems so easy to take out, anyway of taking this out without damaging the phone?

I like you quote this guy explaining WHY he is taking the battery out and then ask him why he is doing it in the first place. Why quote him if you didn't even read what he said.....lol.
OP....Pics & maybe a Skype call to one of us could help.

Another ONE X "hard to break" video

I guess not posted here yet!
http://youtu.be/cuv0VMBkWZ0
crazy video
damn,its water proff...BIG LIKE!!!
never come s3
look this http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=e3ri6vrmPbc
I'm kinda confused, a lot of people complaining about screen being prone to scratch, a lot complaining about not being gorilla glass etc etc...
As the other guy how had his one x going down from the second window floor and still working fine.
Had switch my yellowish Xperis S to th one X that arrived at home today but i'm on a trip so tomorrow is a big day, huge expectation about it after frequenting this forum for like 2 weeks now!
Hopefully no screen flex, bad screen ripple, gps or any other issue!

Wow these videos are amazing, at least i don't have to worry about my phone too much now. Especially after that one dude on here dropped his from a window and it survived
Beat that SIII
Shock & awe!
just plain wow! Now I'm prouder with my HTC One X more than ever!
Next time I get into an argument with an iPhone or Samsung user, I'm gonna smash his brains in with my HOX!!!!
Even better, someone should do a phone fight off video, where they smash the phones against each other, like HOX vs SIII or HOX Vs iPhone!!!
One day before my protective screen arrived I accidentally dropped my work phone over the HOXs' screen. It's a heavy blackberry and I was sure it would have damaged the screen. To my surprise there was not a single micro scratch there. Nonetheless the protective screen arrive and I´m happy to have it on
My HOX got run over
So today i dropped my HOX and my mates car ran it over... needless to say i was crapping my pants when i was picking it up to see the damage but to my surprise nothing!!!!! Not even a scratch, dent or anything! I am using a plastic case and a screen protector so that would have absorbed a lot of the punishment but still very happy no damage to the phone!

I would like to know if the touchscreen is damaged or the lcd display or something else?
Can you fully boot into ROM (android desktop)?
Yes I can, I just posted this photo because this black points are more visible on a white background...

That could be caused by two things.
1. Water damage
2. Over heating of device(maybe the battery)
A friend of mines android phone got too hot that he had the same result. His was worse than this. when you look at his device carefully, you could see the shape of the battery underneath the screen.
It might be you left the device in a hot place or under you pillow or something like that, without any air flow with 3g or wifi connected.

According to the picture, the damage seem to have affected the screen. I dont think its the touch panel.
Is it replaceable at home or do I have to take the phone to htc service?
It depends on your skills. You can but it's not too easy.

Does the screen work outside the OS. In recovery for example?
I had a similar problem on a RedMi Note 3G after I applied too much pressure on the screen, now, I can't say if is exactly the same but if, then yes, it is hardware.
What did you do prior to this? Also can you get to recovery?
Your screen is damaged! Happens with me months ago while running, My sweat did this. My solution was a screen replacement
No it is not working any where. Not even in recovery. I tried to install a RR Rom using TWRP and when i tried to reboot after patching the rom, The screen started flickering. I thought it might be OS issue but i tried everything. I tried to restore to Stock OS & stock recovery using different tools but still I can't get the display properly.
Also my phone fell down while i was talking from my shoulder height. Nut that was a day before this happened.

But i am very sure there is no water involved in my case. The screen fell out of my hand from shoulder height which was a day before this flickering started

Or look look on the aliexpress, you may find it even cheaper than on ebay
Check Amazon for omnirepair part. That's who I used for mine and they are top notch. And they provide decent tool set and support that makes job much easier. Slightly more expensive but with it in my opinion. I've had no issues except one spot that is slightly brighter.
