I used the creator 2.6 that seems to be generally used for android..
I used 1080x1920 .png images, and generated the test1-signed.apk
I copied the .apk to /sdcard/ and ran it to install
when I go into settings -> display -> live wallpapers, my custom wallpaper shows up, but when I select it it just hangs for a second reads "Loading Live Wallpaper..." then error message pops up "Unfortunately, test1 has stopped"

Is there any way to push new wallpapers so they will show up in "HTC wallpapers" as if they were always there? I'm no developer but I've had my phone rooted for some time and I'm very comfortable in adb.
What I've tried so far:
I used adb to pull one of the stock wallpapers, it's a 960x800 .jpg. So I downloaded a wallpaper I like (already 960x800 but .png) and converted it to .jpg. The last stock wallpaper listed in /system/customize/resource/ is htc_wallpaper_22.jpg so I named mine htc_wallpaper_23.jpg and used adb to push it to /system/customize/resource/. It shows up in Root Explorer but when I go to menu>Wallpaper>HTC wallpaper it's not there. I also tried to replace htc_wallpaper_22.jpg with the image of my choice and it did change the actual wallpaper but not the preview icon, so I put the stock one back. I would like it to look like it was there from the factory if at all possible, any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Bump
No suggestions, am I the only one interested in achieving this?
Hi,
I didn't like all the greeny and shadowed icons in Touch X-Treme so i created this basicly stock theme with a few changes:
All the green stuff is back to stock
The notificaion icons are now stock
Press notification color is now blue, looks slick
Select text bars are now stock blue not green
Advanced power menu has nicer icons, more of a stock feel
Still has fixed CRT effect and Precent Battery Mod
See attachments for screens.
How to install:
Install Es File Explorer: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop
Open Es File Expolorer and go to settings and check "Root Explorer" and "Mount File System"
When superuser request pops up, make sure you allow it.
Change "Home Directory" to "/"
Copy framework-res.apk to system/framework - wait for phone to reboot, should do automatically
Copy systemUI.apk to system/app - you should experience force closes, this is normal, just reboot the phone and it should take effect.
this is a boot animation that i converted from the intro of matrix 1 movie. I do not own this animation the owners are the owners of the matrix movie.
i simply converted it to animation and formatted it for 1280 x 720 screens
it starts with matrix code then says "the matrix" and after that you get the green cursor blinking.
this took hours to do so thank me if you are thankful.
to make this your shutdown animation, name the zip "shutdownanimation.zip" (no caps) and drop and replace any existing file in /system/media/
if you want to save your old animation just rename it before you drop the file there. ( youll need to use a program like ES file explorder with root access and mount system directory in order for this to work ) then unmount after, and reboot.
same goes for bootanimation the file name is bootanimation.zip sometimes this goes in /system/media/ but more likely then not the boot animation goes in /data/local/ if you want to be safe just copy it to both locations. again ES file explorer is capable of accessing your data folder.
(root required)
any damage done to your phone is your own fault, only use this file if your phone has a screen resolution of 1280x720
if you have another resolution phone you can open the desc.txt file in notepad++ and change the resolution and it should work, just make sure you use the right resolution and you change the smaller number with the smaller number and larger with larger or else your image will be distorted.
note: this method can change most animation resolutions as long as the dimensions are somewhat similar. android will scale the files, if not you'll see distorted images or nothing.
SIDE NOTE: i recommend testing all animations with shutdownanimation.zip FIRST. this way if there is an issue you can pull your battery and boot into your phone and fix it, if you create a problem with bootanimation it could be a little harder to fix, although most of the time a faulty animation will be skipped by the system rather than causing boot loops (most of the time, i have heard of problems thats why i recomend trying any animation not verified working with your phone as a shutdownanimation first)
note on some custom roms like Cyanogenmod you don't want to use a shutdownanimation. because it's shutdown process is like 2 seconds, stock roms do alot of reflashing during shutdown (or something to that nature) and its more like an 8 second shutdown, in this case you'll see "phone shutting down" dialogue for 4-5 seconds" if you are getting that i would recommend using an animation as its much more pleasant to look at.
by the way this animation would look GREAT on a tablet, anything that's 1280x720 should be able to use the file straight up and any other resolution tablet just change the desc.txt file like i described above

Click to collapse
another note is that if you unpack the zip at any time and have to repack it, use winrar and make sure you use compression method: STORE and not normal compression (this will cause black screen because the program expects a uncompressed zip file)
here is a matrix code animation that is portrait style instead of landscape with no "the matrix" words just the matrix code. i didn't make this one i just formatted it for 1280x720, i got it off the app "bootanimations root" and reformatted it.
if anyone is having trouble resizing an animation they like, post the animations .zip file here that you download for any other android phone or tablets animation that you want to use with your phone, give me the dimensions of your phone (this can be found by good your phones name and "specs" for instance for this phone lg p930 specs, youll get lists of specs for the phone, and it'll tell you this phone is 1280x720. so give me the zip from the animation you want to use and your phones resolution and i'll make the changes and repack the file for you. (if you dont use the right zip app and text editor it won't work)
Unable to flash it. Says invalid zip

Disclaimer: I'm not the owner of these fonts. They are collected from "Font Manager" module by androidacy
Font manager is availabe, so why I'm posting this thread?
It's because I found some disadvantages in font manager module-
1/That completely depends on internet
2/Previewer is not great
3/So many almost same looking fonts
4/Often gives errors
Introduction:
Preview all & pick one from 112 cool fonts + download & apply it using file manager(Rooted).
Steps:
Note: Don't use solid explorer. Install & use "MT File Manager" . Otherwise you will face auto reboot while applying font.
1/ Backup default font: Open Mt file manager . Grant superuser permission. Right hand side is the rooted part. Go to /system/ . Long press on "fonts" folder. Click on copy button. Now it will be copied to the non rooted part. That's your backup.
2/ Preview fonts: Download the attached preview.zip file. Extract it using Zarchiver. You will find a folder "preview fonts" & an apk file "Font Viewer". Install the apk & open it. Go to settings of the app. There are 2 text boxes. Erase the pre-written text of first box & write "The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over the Lazy Dog." In the 2nd box, Erase the russian numbers & write "1234567890". Go back to the main interface. Now browse & open the "Preview fonts" folder. All 112 font previews will appear in a group. You can see detailed preview by clicking on each. Find which font is best for you & note the font name.
3/ Download fonts: Click on the download link below. That's a google drive folder. Click on search button. Search the font name that you liked in preview. Download the zip file of that font.
4/ Apply/Install: Open MT file manager. On your left side, click on zip file of the font. On right side, Go inside /system/fonts/. Scroll a bit on left side (So that you can select all in left). Click 3 dots on top right . Select all. Long press on the selected files. Copy them to right side. Check the box to replace all without permiting one by one. Reboot your device.
Go back to default font:
Select all files in your backed up "fonts" folder. Copy and replace to /system/fonts as mentioned in the 4th step.
