After installing the BMS kernel (I don't think the kernel itself should be the issue, but upon installation of it is when this started), my email will not auto synch. I have to go in and manually synch it.
I'm on the DevianXone ROM 2.0b5.
I just went ahead and install lthe Gmail client, and it does synch.
Any thoughts?
BTW...I have cleared Dalvik and Cache, still no workee.
What ROM are you using?
LiquidSmooth v2.5
Go into settings-> accounts-> Google and make sure gmail is turned ON to sync .
If ROM doesn't come with gmail preloaded you'll always get this if you just download from market.

Thanks. Yes, that's good to go.
It seems to be related to the email app. I say that because GMail does synch (I installed it after this posting), but Email app does not.

Download the yahoo app. Also go into settings>applications>manage applications>all scroll down to gmail, click it and hit clear data. Hopefully that will clear out anything bad in the data and restart the app.
I wentin there and it read a lot of 0's and the only option it would let me pick was uninstall last update so I tried that so we will c lol
I'm using a blacked out version (older) of Gmail and have had no problems to date- used with many Roms, 3 different modems. If you still have issues, be rid of whatever version you have and start skimming the app forum...good luck!

I understood that the new facebook 1.9.1 would sync contacts with ICS but I do not have this option in my GNex with stock 4.0.4.
Anyone else?

It doesn't sync at this time. It shows as an account you can sync, but falls to sync when you tell it to. Google blocks Facebook from sync at this time. Read the other thread about this same topic that was posted yesterday.

well my problem is that I don't even have the option to sync in the accounts manager 9see attached screenshot)
can you pls point me to the thread?
You should keep in mind that facebook copies all of your contact data onto their servers.
This really upset me when I found out about it, so I deleted the facebook app from my devices.

Hey all,
What I'm looking for sounds simple to me, but seems to be a challenge.
I want to sync facebook, now you will say haxsync or friend caster, but they don't sync phone numbers. I'm looking for a way to make the stock Facebook app sync with the phone
Thanks
Only way is to use a rom that allows you to flash a facebook sync mod like this where it enables it on the rom or has it already built in.
Its taken out of the stock rom thats why everyone recommends HaxSync, I'm sure you already know this but adding a Facebook account on the stock rom doesn't do anything.

I've been using haxsync for awhile, but only just realized it doesn't sync numbers. Checking out the link you posted

Try Contapps in the market... it syncs with Facebook and if there are those that don't sync (different spelling, etc.) then you can manually link them to whatever contacts to facebook friends...
i was looking for this as well and i came across this thread for ICS FB sync. it worked for me! (but u should backup first, just in case)

I can't seem to sync the "me" contact with Google servers. When I flash a new nightly, all of my contacts are available except for "me" contact. How can I get the "Me" contact to sync with the rest of the contacts?
Anybody know?
My "me" contact is there on cm10.1. Are you logged into your Google account?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
I'm logged into gmail and all of my contacts sync perfectly fine. When I try to sync my "me" contact and then flash a new ROM, the contact "me" isn't synced.

The "me" contact is not meant to sync to Google as far as I can tell. It is phone based only. I have utilized GB, ICS, and JB Roms (stock and custom) with the "me" contact or some variant and never has it synced with Google. Oversight on Google's part--maybe. Of course most of the time my apps and other settings don't automatically sync back and restore on new ROMS either (could be doing something wrong).

Well this would be why I never got it updated. Always uninstalled Google +. I will check it out.
This is the 4.4 Email app posted on AndroidPolice.
Test it out and see how it works. Hopefully it does what is says and works for the Note 3.
Happy Flashing.
NOTE: ALWAYS MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING ANY TEST APPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks.
Looks like Gmail now, but that's about it.
Never mind. installed Exchange2google. now i can access my mail. sorry
Is the push mail working for you? I installed it on my Moto X and it sets up and downloads my exchange inbox, then stops syncing.
I don't even have the option to choose an exchange account. They only give me POP and IMAP

This is great. Thanks! BTW if you have app settings app try changing DPI to 280 and Screen(dp) to 800x1280 on com.google.android.email. You will then have the tablet interface look which I prefer (also works with google mail).
Thank you
