Any help would be very much appreciated. Sorry for the Noob Question
thanks

Try formatting your device so you may be able to receive OTAs.
That happened to me before updating to Jelly Bean and when I had formatted my One X I received the update
I suggest to flash it manually through fastboot

This guide is intended to help you to return your One X device back to stock in order to either return the device for a warranty claim, or to be in a position to receive an official OTA (Over The Air) update. There may be other guides, but the intention of this guide is to be as simple to perform as is possible given the challenges facing us without having s-off for the One X.
There are 2 methods that can be used to restore back to stock from a custom rom:
.....
2. Flashing a stock ruuBEFORE STARTING
1. Charge your device. It is advisable to have at least 60 - 70% battery charge on your device before attempting this process
2. Install HTC Sync software and drivers on your pc.
3. You also need to have the fastboot folder and files installed on your pc.
Refer here for guidance on using adb and fastboot commands
.....OPTION 2 - Restoring stock rom by flashing stock ruu
Get the RUU file required for your device:
... (i´ve posted the correct links below)
PROCESS :
1. Boot your phone to fastboot mode by holding power+vol down button for 10 secs..(if your phone keeps restarting in normal phone mode, go to Setting>Power and untick Fast boot)
2. Plug your phone into your PC and open a Command Prompt.
(windows XP - Click Start > Run > type CMD in box then press OK
(Windows 7 - Click Start > type CMD in search box then press Enter)
3. cd to the location of your fastboot files folder
4. Relock bootloader - type command:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
The phone will then restart into fastboot again showing "RELOCKED"
6. On your pc run the RUU that you downloaded earlier, follow the steps as prompted and patiently wait for it to finish.
REMEMBER your phone should be charged ABOVE 50% AND if the ruu or restore is INTERRUPTED 4 any reason during restore your
phone MAY be PERMANENTLY BRICKED..all the best..:fingers-crossed:

I would prefer to update in three steps:
1st: Flash the RUU 1.26.401.2 http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/sec..._Radio_1.1204.90.13_release_251208_signed.exe
2nd: Flash the RUU 2.17.401.2 http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/sec...Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed.exe
3rd: Flash the RUU 3.14.401.27 http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/sec...Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_298897_signed.exe
and after these updates i think you can get the last OTA´s automatically.

Thanks for the info Neo XL. Do i have to do this to get the OTA's or could I install a good Custom Rom. If so which one do you recommend? I am currently on stock Android 4.0.3. (ICS)

You have a never updated device. One year behind the release of the One X with ICS - now we have JellyBean. I recommend to perform the updates of the original source and then flash again a custom rom.

Maybe i´ve made a mistake, because i forgot, that you can install with S-Off every rom and the bootloader will be updated automatically. Also you can downgrade with a S-Off-device. So there´s no need for these steps. Sorry.

[Q] Can not install RUU

Hello guys.
I'm following this thread to install JB on my HOX.
Currently my phones cid is HTC__102
I almost crashed my phone yesterday as I was stuck in the boot loop, had to use adb to push ICS and install ICS back.
Now I noticed my HBOOT is 0.43, the thread says to download one of the file. I have no idea which one
Tried all 3 all 3 crashed, I'm not sure what happens.
These to run untill I get to this place (see attachment 0.png).
ruu_endeavor_u_ics_40_htc_europe_1.29.401.11_radio_1.1204.105.14_release_260491_signed_c9d22.exe and RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.17.401.2_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed.exe exit with an error of "UNKNOWN ERROR" (see attachment 1.png)
and
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.29.401.7_Radio_1.1204.104.14_release_259281_signed.exe crashes and doesn't do anything.
One thing though, the phone is Unlocked, not sure if that matters and I'm using windows 8, but I run all the software in compatibility mode.
Thank you and sorry for my bad spelling.
You need to relock bootloader.

And you need to install the Stock Recovery, for 1.29 ROM, link is provided in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1594819
you cant downgrade ruu
Now I'm stuck in a loop between power up and hboot.
The phone says "Re-Locked" and won't load the ROM.
Oh the thread I was speaking of is : /showthread.php?t=1562603
Could someone explain me the steps I should make.
for example download this, update this, install this then this, rom and voila.
I'm totally lost here.

Now I see, you have 2.17 already, so you have to flash 2.17 minimal.
Btw. strange that you still have hboot 0.43 and a 2.17 base?
You cannot flash the 1.29, so you have to flash:
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.17.401.2_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed
So, you have relocked
Edit: You could try to RUN the RUU when device is in Fastboot without going back to stock recovery, cause it's in the RUU, but if that doesn't work... follow next steps.
Btw. Goto fastboot while unplugged and plugin usb cable after entered fastboot, you should see usb appear.
1. Next you need Stock Recovery:
for stock recovery you could run the above RUU, after you donwloaded it, but not install it.
After you run the RUU, it unpacks to the following directory:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Temp\{some guid}\{some other guid}\
Get the rom.zip form that directory and in there you can find the Stock Recovery
You can flash recovery through Fastboot using the following command:
fastboot flash recovery [name of the retrieved recovery].img (you need to place it in the fastboot folder.
2. If you have Stock Recovery, Go into Fastboot mode and flash the RUU (2.17).

[Solved] Boot loop on every ROM

Hello.
I currently have SlimBean 3.0.0 installed, and I'm trying to get Sense back. I've tried countless ROMs, but on every single one of them, I get boot loop and then I have to install Slim again.
Yes, I do all the wipes, including dalvik cache, but nothing seems to help.
Thanks in advance.
Have you flashed the boot.img of each rom?
Re: Boot loop on every ROM
And what is your hboot number ?
Yes, I've always flashed the boot.img that comes with each one.
Now that you mentioned hboot, that might be an issue. It's 0.94.000, I've tried to search, but I can't find any instructions on how to upgrade it.
Re: Boot loop on every ROM
Yeah the old hboot is the issue
Get the main version, lets get back to stock and update the phone with official ota ! I bet there is a matching ruu for you with that old hboot
Do
Fastboot getvar version-main

Oke download this file
http://androidfiles.org/ruu/securek...Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed.exe
Charge the battery before you do this :
Put the phone in the bootloader and relock the bootloader
Fastboot oem lock
After that you keep the phone in the bootloader and execute the ruu.exe from the pc with admin rights (right click the ruu.exe)
This will flash the phone to original android 4.0.4. When the ruu flashed with succes you boot the phone and update the phone with the original OtA to JB
Alright, I'll do that when the phone is charged. Many thanks.
Now this is just horrible... I got it to 4.1, but now I can't select it to charge only when connected, so I can't root it.
Re: Boot loop on every ROM
Just set usb debugging enabled and you're good to go.

I'm his friend, here's the details of his phone:
Code:
HTC One X internation version
cid: TELNZ001
version-main: 1.26.781.2
hboot: 0.43.0000
Clockworkmod: 5.8.4.0 [Removed Now]
The main question is whether we can actually update it to the official Telecom Jellybean, after rooting and unrooting it?
We tried updating it to Cyanogenmod 10.1 Jellybean before but it didn't work because the hboot version was too low and there was no support for the TELNZ001 cid. We had to download and use someone else's Clockworkmod restore to get the phone to work again (because we forgot to create a backup before trying the new ROM)
Well use this file to go back to full stock
http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...812-radio-112049013-release-251287-signedexe/
Put the phone in the bootloader and relock it.
Fastboot oem lock
After the command you keep the phone in relocked state in the bootloader, then run the ruu with admin rights.
Right click the ruu and select "run as administrator"
This will bring the phone back to full stock and you should be able to update with official ota.

Okay, downloaded the file and successfully went back to full stock.
Now I have to manually download the jellybean update and because I am behind the university proxy and it does not work on my phone. I had to download the JB update and then transfer it to my phone and then went to recovery mode and then went "Apply update from external storage".
I downloaded the JellyBean update here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37485046&postcount=37

step by stem is too long, but: download RUU, relock bootloader reflash original recovery and run the RUU. If you have questions, just ask
Edit: ok long version : open settings in phone/about phone/baseband version there is your radio verson. Its a long number . go to http://androidxda.com/htc-one-v-primo-stock-rom and find RUU with the same number you have Or put that number into google Download that RUU. Run the RUU (dont plug in phone) while RUU is running it makes a temp files. One of them is rom.zip find that zip, open a extract recovery (or named signed recovery). End RUU. In phone flash that recovery. Then relock the bootloader.after restart plug phone and run RUU. then just follow the steps of RUU.
Make sure you have drivers installed a battery is good.
Hope its all. Let me know if it works.

yes I first flashed stock kernel and then stock recovery and then relocked my phone.( all by adb-fastboot)
but now when I restart my phone still there are red sentences below HTC logo and after that it go too hboot and when I go to recovery for restoring the backup there is no recovery? now what should I do?
again unlock bootloader and flashing recovery and restore?
(at the top of hboot there are tow sentences : 1. relocked. 2.security warning. is there any problem?)
thank you all
Option 1
1. Re-unlock bootloader
2. Reinstall custom recovery for which you made your earlier backup
3. Restore your backup
4. fastboot flash stock recovery.img
5. fastboot flash stock boot.img
6. relock bootloader
7. done
Option 2
1. find what your CID is
2. find your RUU here : http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=Primo
3. recheck that your bootloader is relocked
4. if it is unlocked, in fastboot mode - relock the bootloader : run command fastboot oem lock
5. in fastboot mode : flash/run/double click the RUU; follow the updater instruction - next, update, bla, bla, bla until it finish
6. done
as the ckpv5 says...
in that stock recovery you have flashed cant do anything. If you wnat to reload backup you have to use custom recovery
and "reloced security warning" means that bootloader is unlocked and now is locked again-relocked. its for warranty servise to know you messed with your phone about CID: its showed in your phone "open settings in phone/about phone/baseband version there is your radio verson. Its a long number"and the same number is showen in bootloader
Suprised
excuse me for delay. the server had problem.
I choose the option 1 and Re-unlocked my phone by adb. after unlocking suddenly my phone rebooted and the wizard of stock rom started as same as I bought it first......
I check the kernel and it is stock now.
why the rom didn't work when my phone was relocked?
now if I relock my phone again does the stock rom work?
"Magic"
try and you will see. actually I every use RUU for return to stock, so I am not sure about that.

Bootloader status does not affect ability to take OTAs.
You need two things mainly to take the OTA:
1. Stock recovery matching your current software
2. An untouched backup image of the system partition matching your current software. This is needed if you're currently rooted.
Both can probably be found in the thread you linked. The backup image is flashed from twrp. The stock recovery is then flashed from download mode using this command:
Fastboot flash recovery yourrecoveryfile.img
But even after doing that, you might still get an error when trying to take the OTA. Easiest way to take it is to start from scratch, backup your phone's contents to your pc or sd card, and then run the latest ruu for your phone. This will bring you up to date, and will also allow you to make a backup system image from twrp before rooting so that you can easily take future OTAs. The ruu will also completely wipe your phone's contents.
So you can try the first method I mentioned, and if it doesn't work go with the ruu.
As your brother may root it before so the system may got modify, in this case the best and easiest way is flash a RUU.
Try this RUU, http://dl3.htc.com/application/[email protected]_79.07_F_release_495903_signed_2.exe
A RUU will restore your HTC 10 back to stock and wipe out everything. It require a match CID or super CID, if not it will not flash.
I tried to flash RUU via sd card method as well as fastboot method. Both got failed
sd card: Header Error
fastboot: load_file: could not allocate 1950335038 bytes
error: cannot load '2PS6IMG.zip'
Im running on venom rom , S ON with oem unlocked. How can i go back to stock rom??

Nah, i downloaded the exe and the zip file also.
Anyway fixed it. Just restored from a nandroid backup. Now back in stock
PS:In btw, anyone facing any battery drop issue??
So I run in another Problem. I got the latest OTA for Europe (July Security Patch) but now my Phone gets shown as uncertified in the google play app which means I can not download certain apps like Netflix via Appstore.
Now I already figured out why I get shown uncertified: the Bootload is still unlocked. I thought the RUU would fix this as well. And if I wanna go in to the recovery (there was an TWRP Recovery on it before) I just get a red triangle with an "!" in it. It wont boot into recovery. Had to hard reset the phone to be able to boot normally to android then.
Now I wanna flash the stock recovery and lock the Bootload again to get again the certified status from google again.
Now here I need help.
1. Can't find the matching recovery version (EU unlocked, July Securtiy Patch, 2.41.401.41). Can anyone help me find the recovery image I need?
2. How do I get the bootload locked again? My Brother unlocked it via HTCdev.com back then, that I know already. But the command fastboot oem lock does not work at all. It just does nothing.
So how can I lock the bootloader?
Thanks for the help.
If you ran the RUU you already have stock recovery...red triangle with an "!" in it.
Are you running the fastboot oem lock from bootloader or download mode?

Haha well then everything is ok with the recovery ^^
I tried both (download and bootloader mode), both times nothing happens. In download mode my PC does not even recognize the phone as the command "adb devices" does not list my phone and the command "fastboot oem lock" does nothing. HTCsnyc installed and ofc adb shell, worked even as when I normally checked with adb devices when my phone was on it was recognized.

Alright this command works and shows my device.
Now I am in bootloader (Shows Software Status: Modified; Unlocked, S-ON). Then I type in "fastboot oem lock" and I get:
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
finished. total time: 0.014s
Well at least now I get something, before just nothing happened. Any clue what I might do wrong here?
*edit*
So I am a big noob
Phone has to be in download mode then the command works and my phone shows me a message if I want to lock again. Unfortunately it will factory reset my phone as well (at least it says that) so I have to backup my data (again) first.
But thank you for your help, appreciate it.
Cheers!
So I did lock the phone again and flashed again the RUU.exe BUT again my Phone shows in Bootloader Software Status as Modified...and it shows as Relocked.
So how do I get it to official status again?

By buying sunshine S-OFF. Only way to see the bootloader back to "locked" instead of "relocked"

Ye found a thread to it. But seems I dont need it. My Phone gets shown as certified again at google play store so I assume just "relocking" the bootloader seems to be enough.
