Note II minor issues, but really irritating - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Assume that your phone is is normal (Ring) mode. Now put the phone into Silent mode and again put it back to Normal (Ring) mode after sometimes. Now you try to make a phone call to someone and see the phone automatically goes into Silent mode. Only workaround is, put the mobile in normal mode and reboot it.

I do this fairly often at work and do not encounter this problem

Nope, no issues here. If you're rooted I recommend flashing a custom ROM. Or try a factory reset.

Tried it again - nothing. Normal->Silent->Normal->Phone call right? Everything works as it should. And pretty damn sure I've done this before too.
You don't use AOSP based ROMs, do you?

Never had an issue eather. Not rooted, no custom ROM.

Well no idea, then. I'm on custom ROM+Kernel so yeah, try that.

I had the same problem after update to N7100XXDMC3 the solution for me was to go back to the N7100XXDMB6.
And also with DMC3 I had another problem when leaving the phone and not using it for more some time the phone will lose the connection with network provider and I can’t make phone call. when try to call I get messag no network available. I needed to restart the phone to get the connection back.
With DMB6 I do not had any of these two problem.

After recovering from download mode t989 does not recognize SIM Card

Some days ago I tried to upgrade my phone to the latest official ICS using ODIN as KIES
was always giving disconnection errors before finishing the upgrade.
Finally I got my phone stuck at the download mode with an error message and a yellow warning
triangle.
I thought I had a bricked phone, but fortunately I managed to recover it using an old
official ROM. The problems is that now it doesn´t recognize any inserted simcard.
The current installed software versions are:
Android 2.3.5
Base band: T989UVKID
Kernel version: 2.6.35.11
Compilation number: GINGERBREAD.UVKID

one you can call tmobile and have your sim card registered and that sometimes fixes it. Or you can try to factory reset this way dial *2767*3855# this should return everything to original factory settings which should allow you to use your sim card. Back up phone first because this will wipe everything!!
Hello,
Thank you for the response. The process worked as expected (the format process... etc etc), however I am still getting the warning message, as you can see in the attached picture

My guess is the kernel never got transfered over when using ODIN. I would get KIES and have it upgrade the phone to ICS and see if the problem goes away. Any time I had this issue it was kernel related.
Is the sim damaged in any way? Have you tried another sim after formatting yet? If this doesnt work tmobile should link it to phone for you. Forgot one more thing try flashing a new radio modem like UVLE1 or UVLH1 and see what happens.

[Q] No signal after returning from Airplane Mode

I sleep with Airplane mode on to prevent texts/calls from coming through but allowing my alarm to go off, and this morning when I turned it off, the signal disappeared 100%.
Was running Calkulin's E4GT ROM, but in attempt to fix it, I flashed Kobridge's Stock FL16 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2059714)
I also flashed the FL16 modem and Kernel, and I still can't receive signal at all. Wifi works fine.
I tried turning Airplane mode on and off multiple times and rebooting, all with no luck. Also tried updating PRL/Profile but can't because of no service (wifi is turned on).
Any ideas?

Flashing ROMs. Although I just found a link on unrooting it and throwing the original Stock ROM via Odin One click on there and everything, nothing else seems to be working.

I would try just using any of the One-Clicks and see if that fixes it. Those basically reset EVERYTHING on the phone so anything software that might cause it would be fixed with those.

Used the GB27 One-Click and called Sprint -- they did some kind of network reset through my phone and it seems to be working now.
Thanks.

[Q] Urgent problem with Wi-fi after 4.3 manual update

Hello guys,
This is my first post here so don't be so harsh
Ok, to be quick, i've updated my Note 2 International Version manually with 4.3.
The phone was already rooted before the update, so i did't make an update via Kies. I've done it with ODIN
You can find attached all the details like firmware and so on.
My phone details:
Baseband: N7100XXUEMJ5
Kernel Version: 3.0.31-2099172
Build Number: JSS15J.N7100XXUEML3
After the update, i received the "Emergency call only" error. and i have fixed it by flashing my modem and kernel via RomManager.
But now i have another big problem. I cannot activate Wifi. When i click on it, it doesnt do anything, not even giving me that green sign. NOTHING
I've searched all the forums but nothing seems to be a little bit more specific. Only gibberish.
Can anybody please tell me what to do? (Should i reset to the factory settings? but i really want to keep my data)
Please help!!!

[Q] No data connection...

I haven't changed anything since March 8th, this all just happened very suddenly.
I'm at work, LTE is good, streaming a podcast. Podcast cuts out, I figure its just a ****ty stream, but I notice no LTE/3g/H+ logo above my connection icon. Can't connect to mobile data at all. Zip, Zero, Nada. Reset phone a dozen times, pulled battery, left off for a long period, and now I'm back home and still nothing. MMS/SMS/Wi-Fi all work fine, as does voice.
Pertinent info:
4.4.2
baseband: 1747ucdlk3
kernel version: 3.4.77-cyanogenmod-gb25714b [email protected] #1 wed, FEB 26 15:12:23 pst 2014
Cyanogenmod version: 11.0-installerXNPQ09Q
Any ideas?
It does appear you're on a later version of CM Nightlies. You could possibly attempt to download that to see if that works, or even flash another ROM to see if that works. (If you do go about flashing another ROM, please remember to wipe your device)
Another suggestion which will more than likely work is to flash a stock S3 ROM that works for your define and get the APN settings. (Make sure you have confirmed data is working on the stock ROM flash please) I'd then suggest comparing the stock APN settings with the custom AOSP ROM you flashed.

No 3g Data connection

Hi all
a few months ago I came here because I was all the time seeing the dreadful No Storage message.
I rooted the device in order to install link2sd and I was happy ever after.
Few days ago though, my connection suddenly stopped to work. the carrier says everything is fine, the tablet is correctly set up, the data plan is active and from their point of view everything is OK.
Is there any way check if everything is OK mobile data speaking? Can I factory reset even if rooted?
Thanks in advance [emoji4]
1. Are you rooted? Yes
2. Have you unlocked the bootloader? Yes
3. What ROM are you on? None. Just rooted.
4. Which kernel are you on? 3.0.31 [email protected]#1 smp preempt wed apr 3 kst 2013
5. What were you doing just before the problem happened? Nothing, it just stopped to work. I was writing something on WhatsApp.
6. How can we recreate the problem? I don't think it can be recreated as it happened with no apparent reason.
7. What have you done so far to fix it? I have not done anything so far. I will try tonight a factory reset.
8. Attach any logcats you have.
