Cheapest screen assembly (led + digitizer) - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

Hello all,
So after the nth drop, my note has a crack in the upper left corner of the screen. Not an issue yet, but I can foresee it delaminating eventually.
I have found the screen assembly on fleabay for ~$180.
it's this the cheapest price available or is there a cheaper one somewhere? I imagine these eBay sellers must be running a significant profit margin.
Thanks in advance,
Roman

Sell your note and keep 180 $ and add it together and buy a new phone.

You can buy a second hand note with $250...
So, yeah, just sell it (maybe hard), and just buy a new phone.

Maybe. Is there a member on this board who has superbricked their phone and wants to sell it? I would pay about 100 bucks for the screen, as long as there are no scratches.

It is possible to replace just the glass...
There are many videos on Youtube for the S3.. I did the same with my Note

Anyone know where I can buy replacement parts for the Atrix 4G?
I was able to pick up an Atrix 4G with a cracked screen (LCD is fine) for $315 on ebay.

Haha that site requires him to buy a minimum of 3. At least we know he will have spares.
Nice, I think I'm going to hold out a week or two to see what happens but if not ill jump on it. If anyone else is looking for one of these let me know and I can order it and I would be down to split them up at cost and ship em if you paypal me. I'm paypal verified and have a 100+ ebay rep
wait, r u on at&t? if u r, why buy a used/damaged atrix for $315, which is 115 bucks more than a brand new one on contract? n on top of that, u still have to buy the replacement screen? just doesn't make sense right?

he might of already used his upgrade from at&t or not an at&t customer. 315+60 is a steal for an atrix. you can sell these easily for 500-600. not everyone can get at&t contract price...

I actually used my upgrade to get an Atrix. hadn't upgraded in years because I had a rogers HTC Dream and then I bought the Nexus One straight up. I used to run a little iphone repair business and figure I'll have no problem fixing the Atrix. This is just to make a quick $150-$200
Interested in split-order of Atrix replacement screens
I shattered my screen yesterday. So far local stores have been no help.
I am going to one last store today to see if they can get me a deal on a replacement phone -or at least repairs- . If that doesn't work out, I'll be interested in going in 1/3 on a replacement screen order.

Booooo! I, a poor student, now living abroad and with no contract options, almost bought that same ebay phone and was even talking to the seller when it disappeared. Back when globalparts sold the screen for $50 (but still, minimum order of 3.) But, iFixIt makes it look easy and you should have no trouble finding people to split the screens with (if I lived in the US still, this'd be my strategy.)

Anyone seen them anywhere else? I've been keeping my eye on ebay when I can for another cracked one. I was thinking I could buy 3 and fix them all.
Cracked glass
Is there any way to replace just the glass...? I scuffed up my glass pretty bad...
Thought the Atrix had Gorilla Glass?????

Just because its gorilla glass doesnt make it indestructable - you can still scratch and scuff the screen...
You can order the glass on Ebay now. I would get the digitizer also because sometimes its glued in the glass. And dosent come off easily. Would rather just tear it apart once....

when they took apart the atrix they found that the screen was completely separate.
I've ordered replacement parts from www.ccn.cn before and while they aren't always OEM parts, they fit and work regardless. They don't have much of anything for the MB860 at this time though, other than the back cover.
I bought one from ebay a few weeks back but have been busy and then realized i didn't have a torx t5. Ordered a small screwdriver kit for $4 with free prime shipping on amazon.
Just did the replacement. I used adhesive pieces cut from ones for iPhones to seal it on. The teardown was a little bit more difficult than I expected. It will be much easier the 2nd time around but the ifixit really doesn't give any of the details. I noticed I left a small smudge behind the glass/digitizer so I may take it apart to wipe it. If I do I will make a teardown video. The biggest issue was that all of the ribbons are held down pretty firmly by strong adhesives. I was very impressed by the strength of the bezel. Everything worked fine first time I put it back together. I used to fix iPhone screens pretty regularly, I've probably done around 40+ of them, so that experience may have helped.

Glass for our beloved Nexus

Woe has striked me and my Nexus' front glass is shattered. Does anyone know where I can purchase a new one? Maybe an upgraded one?
Unfortunately there is no "glass" replacement ... only "screen" replacement (amoled + glass which is not so cheap) - about $300 USD.
Dammit. Thank you for the reply. It's cheaper to buy a new phone then..
You may want to keep the phone for a while. Is not uncommon for people to destroy other parts of the phone while keeping the screen intact (like water damage or burned motherboard/storage). you may find broken phones sold as spare parts, in which case you may find a good screen at a reasonable price.
Anyway ... I'm sorry about your loss, to say so. The geek in me is crying for you .

Contact Samsung, though it won't be covered under warranty, they will apparently replace the screen for around $160 USD (according to a few posts on reddit).
Wouldn't hurt to chuck them an email and get a quote anyway

the cheapest one on ebay i found is over $200
All Samsung AMOLED screens are retarted expensive. The s3 screen will not be less than 200 on that combo. Mind as well get the nexus 4 with that money. Ilk say well the s3. As far as resale value, not completely sure. Check eBay and see average pricing for s3s with broken screens.

Ebay is NOT THE CHEAPEST PLACE ONLINE. You cant find a lcd/digitizer combo for less than 200. The cheapest place to get OEM lcd/digitzer is directly with samsung. My screen glass broke a few weeks ago so i tried replacing the glass only and ended up messing the digitizer and not being able to use it so i sent it to samsung. I was billed $178.00 for the lcd/digitizer. It took like around 2 weeks to get my phone back.

[Q] Broken White GSM Nexus value

Hey all, So my white nexus has a cracked glass. I know to replace it would cost me about $150 since It's recommend to replace the whole kit. How much do you think i can sell this phone on ebay? Wondering if It's worth selling instead of fixing. I do like the phone but I rather put that $150 towards another phone. Maybe Nexus 4 when it comes back in stock. Pic attached. Thank you for your feedback..

There are a lot of factors that can apply when selling damaged items. For example, if any of the internals are salvageable or if the device is able to boot. Anyway, from my research on sold items on ebay the normal (grey) Galaxy Nexus - "sold for parts" can be as little as $30 and as high as $130. In your case most buyers would want the body to be in perfect condition so that they can do a body swap with their grey colored ones or a screen swap. Considering the fact that ones that work are selling for $275-$399 I believe you could get to $150 if you tried. Just my opinion though. I cannot say for a fact you will get that much. It all depends if the market is there. You can always set a reserve on ebay so if bidders don't bid up to or past the reserve then the item doesn't sell. Just an idea. Good luck!

Dropped phone.... Now have a cracked screen

Dropped the phone onto the carpeted floor at work and it cracked the screen.
Anyone replaced the screen on a galaxy nexus yet?
Thinking of getting a new chassis/frame/body as well to make it look brand new again
Anyone replaced anything on theirs
Bits are on eBay for about £25

I dropped mine on day 15 and it landed face down, cracked like an egg.
Found a screen on eBay for $60, replacement was easy peasy!
Let me know if you need any pointers.

I could use some pointers. Mine is also cracked.
Replacement costs are 191 from Samsung, and they pay for shipping.

I just got my Galaxy Nexus (Verizon) replaced and am so glad I have Asurion insurance. Yeah it costs like $6 a month, but when I needed a new phone it came in really handy.
I set up a claim online (mine was lost/stolen but this could apply to yours too) and then paid $99 and got a replacement (probably a refurb) the next day. It was actually less than 24 hours from when I set up the claim online and when my phone arrived via UPS. That's pretty good service.
So if you would spend $60 on only a screen but have to do major surgery to install it, maybe it would be a better deal to pay $99 and get a whole new device.
Id really appreciate some tips on changing the glass on the GN. I have watched a few youtube clips on removing the frame/chassis/body but none on removing the glass.
Any tips or pointers on changing the glass would really help me incase i really screw it up!
The small bit of glass which fell out looks like it was held in by double sided tape. Is it a case i need a heat gun and just gently heat the glass and pull it off to replace it?
Thanks
N
My advice is buy the glass with digitizer already attached. I did the swap last month using glass+digitizer and it was very easy to do. I got it from this seller on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/190766646656
Afaik the front glass is fused together to the digitizer making it very difficult to replace, a heat gun could be used but be careful. As a few other posters mentioned, buy the glass with the digitizer attached already. Much faster and easier repair. I will be doing it soon as I have purchased a cracked but otherwise working i-9250 nexus.

So you pay 6 bucks a month and had to pay 100 bucks..... I don't pay 6 a month and a digitizer with LCD was 60 and was far from "major surgery" east peasy as said before

I must be damn lucky, accidentally yanked the usb cable while half asleep, fell flat onto the screen, looked at it after a few hours, it's like nothing have happened and there is only a small mark on my screen protector..
I replaced just the glass on mine. Its really not that difficult, just be patient with a blow dryer and slowly peel the glass off. I did it on my gnexus and on an S3. Its much cheaper and really not difficult. Just stuck the new glass on with existing adhesive that was there.
