Hi Guys,
So I received my F240S from Korea 2 months ago, the first thing I did was ROOT, and uninstall all the Korean software does not make sense to me. now I noticed there is official update, no biggy, just 4 or 5mb of size, but it does not allow me to update as I am ROOTed.
Any idea how to get around?
Thanks
Dennis
I just received my F240S today and I haven't rooted yet (if you can advise me on how to do so that would be great).
I'm guessing the only work around for this issue is to backup your Applications/Games using Titanium Backup, and your SMS and Call logs using SMS Backup and Restore and Call Log Backup and Restore, then reset to factory settings (hopefully that will remove root), do the official update, then root again and restore everything using the software names above.
I updated my F240s today but don't know what changes it has brought around yet !

I think you have to download a pc-suite like program and you can manually update from there. You may find this link useful: http://optimusforums.com/threads/wtf-no-software-updates-from-lg-for-rooted-phones.8055/
You have to use the LG PC Suite and do it directly from PC. After you are done you will need to rooted back again. Its a pain cause sometimes a update will not let you root the phone again. So make sure someone has found a exploit to root that update before doing it.

Hey,
I am wondering if the same rooting processes work after i install T-Mobile's newest update via KIES that came out on Sept 10,.I think its called T999UVALI5
The reason is because when I re-rooted my phone after T-Mobile's first update (the update that removed universal search), the phone was laggy when in recovery mode and when deleting programs in titanium backup.
If anyone has re-rooted with the new update, can you tell me what root method you used and if it is laggy in the same respect as mine was?
Thanks a lot for your help
does anyone know anything about this?

Hasn't changed. I have the needed tools in my signature if you are looking for them.
Last time I received a LG software update it finally installed by itself and soft bricked my phone. I was rooted unlocked running CWM. Now I am just rooted and received LG's software update and I can't get rid of it. Is there a way to remove this software update altogether and not have it return? I can just postpone it for four hours.... what can I do?
Thanks...
rename lg software update in system/apps
freeze it with tibu
unistall it using rom manager.
Since you are rooted there are plenty things you can do to remove it.
Although maybe (just maybe) you're the first to get the 4.2 update..

Hi there,
If I'm correct, you can't use an official OTA when rooted, so you'll either have to go back to stock (there are multiple tutorials in the General forum)or wait for someone here on XDA to create flashable zip for your model.
Or just use PC Suite to do an update.
Hello to everyone, i use a long time android device's, but first time using LG, as "jhericurls" wrote , that we can use PCsuite for updates. My question is about.
If we use PCsuite to install updates, will the phone loose root and let's say be like stock, (in my case phone rooted with phildrake* and has stock recovery)
*phildrake-i am currently on the phone and not shure that is the name of utility used for root.

So how can three users stuck on 10a update to the latest version ?
I hesitated but not long, updated through PCsuite, i lost root and made me a problem that Google play services were gone "removed" from my phone, had to do hard reset and use purple drake again which worked with no problem.
I just got a G3 “D855” and I noticed it got bunch of European software on it for orange, sfr….etc is all of them like that? Check SC below
Thanks
Lucky you, usually one can get only Orange or SFR or none.
Looks like you got double bloatware.. Congrats xD

lol can someone help please can I get a clean stock rom on instead of this? Should I take the phone back?
Root your phone with Purpledrake. Download System App Removal from play store (red icon) and uninstall what you want
Install bumpd twrp and flash AndroidHD or Cloudy

Kind of new to LG "sorry"
Took it to the store earlier they said they have a new clean stock ROM that has nothing on.....Ran an update that took a few min then after wiping I got the same customization stuff back once the data start to sync I'm also now at 4.4.2 instead of 4.4.3 tried OTA sw update it says I have the latest. How can I get 4.4.3 update now?
Thanks!!!!
As far as i know there is no 4.4.3. And for the bloatware, it's firmware independent. That means the bloat is already on your phone in a hidden folder.

LG G3 will not have 4.4.3 update, but by the end of 2014 will receive 5.0 update for D855 international version.
You can either flash a stock .kdz by entering your imei and download it from LG's website here:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=IMEI HERE
Or flash a custom rom like CloudyG3. Please see the forums for more info on that. Also you can get rid of it by atleast rooting your device and throwing the APK's away, or as I like to do I root my device, install Titanium and batch uninstall all the apps at once and ta-da a clean phone

Weirdly that doesn't work, I had the same issue before and when you flash any kdz as soon as it booted it downloaded a **** load of carrier apps from Germany xD There is a folder that the flash does not erase, if you delete that it gets rid of it for good. (Hopefully)

Enter your own IMEI number where it says "IMEI HERE". I thought I was clear enough but I hope you understand it now..
Hi all, my gf and I both received the update for v10p. She updated and I didn't because she is not root and the update aborted on me since I rooted mine with stump.
It just said value package update (156MB). Haven't seen any differences for now. Any one got it also? Is it rootable with the current methods?

Upgrade details
It's not rootable, don't take OTA's.
What is your previous version?
I'm using f460l and still on v10k.

I guess is a too new version to have root available yet?

Mine is still on 10J because I couldn't update due to being root.
My phone is still root after the v10P update (ota).
Unfreeze all bloatwares or system apps (if some are frozen).
If you don't have any result, you need to go back to stock, there's no other solution.
I uninstalled bloatware using titanium backup and converted Google search and play services to user app to fix the battery drain using greenify. Might this be the issue?
By the way, have you found any noticeable differences with the update?
Cheers
No, I just saw little changes about the Google Apps but nothing else (no more battery life or something)
A very minor update as I can see.
